Do you think companies and especially HR people will be hesitant to hire a developer (regardless of how good they are and YOE) if they saw that this developer tried to start their own company and "escape" their little rat-race? This is one of my main concerns, that in the future when I have enough experience (probably in my early 30s) and try to create my own company, that if I fail and have to go back that companies would rather instead want someone "stable" who wont try to "run off again" and stay there, if you know what I mean.
Why sacrafice a source of income without having another source to replace it? I did the same thing with a 6 months emergency fund while intending to give myself 6 months to build and reassess. Now it's been 8 months and I wish I worked on it while having a consistent income
My personal situation is unique. I need to move from Madrid and as I was (still) the CTO, I was available 24/7, so couldn’t manage work, family and friends, sport and sleep. For me, it’s the right move atm. I can always go back to look for a job, but I want to create my own software agency. Can’t handle both at the same time.
