Warning: Currently if you plan on farming HUGE areas and have 1000s of densely placed plants all in one location, you will encounter crashes quite often (they seem to effect the whole sever). So be aware of mass scale farming. Note that if you accidently reach this point, you can simply harvest the plants and the crashes will stop. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future update.
There's also absolutely no reason to farm on any kind of large scale. I followed online advice and mass farmed crops such as flax. Now, after just a couple of days I have over 3000 flax and a disdain for the tedious farming system in Enshrouded. I realized I don't need to farm in large quantities, and soil type isn't important. Crops grow plenty fast on grass or any of the allowed soil types. So now I am going to scale it way back and incorporate crops into my settlements primarily as decoration and occasionally harvest and replant when there's a need.
Why mass farm? You just don’t need the stuff in these quantities. I like to just place plants naturally in the grass around my cottage garden and then pick them as needed. Keeps it fun, looks nicer and doesn’t crash the game.
@@mirandelf Large areas full of trees and flowers looks quite beautiful. So, you may run into this issue by using farms as decorations. Also, archers may plant a few hundred shrubs for twigs even though that's not the best way to get them in large amounts. I mean, not everyone knows that you can... mine them.

I see one big flaw in this video which is otherwise pretty comprehensive: When you use the rake to distribute your farm soil it will "look" good but you will notice that mass planting will often lead to situations where seedlings disappear after you planted them or the game tells you it is not possible to place a seedling when it looks like it should. You kinda end up with a much less dense planted field. What makes planting in general and especially dense planting way more reliable to place those soil pieces with the building hammer and NOT distribute them with the rake. I think this has to do with height you need the soil to be for reliable placement (3 blocks?) - when you distribute soil you often get spots with 1 or 2 blocks in height.
Really pleased to see you playing this game. It reminds me of Skyrim in so many ways. Literally one of the first things I thought in my first two hours in the game, was you, and how much you'd love this game. I went to your channel and turns out you found it before I did. HAHA. Love you brother, thanks for the content. Would LOVE to start a new character and server with you. Love your content on any game. Good luck on your channel and life. Take care.
When you plant in the fertilized soil, is that soil permanent and can continue to be planted on? Or will you have to replace the soil every plant harvest or every couple plant harvests?
Saffron is annoying that it grows like 4x faster in normal grass than fertilized soil. Also, takinf the time to snap your crop rows perfectly is slow. Just turn off snap and use a slow walk while spamming the seedling button. You can plant hundreds of flax in maybe 3 minutes vs the 10 it takes making perfect rows.
Has anyone came across the bug which adversely affects any "rake duplicated" soil? I have planted using this technique and server crashes occurred because the plants were CONSTANTLY replicating, I call this the trouble with tribbles dilema. Even after removing the bugged soil, the place-holder for this block is still bugged for me. Anybody else notice this, any fixes?
Got to about level 20 before farming really started to become required, just a spot for mushrooms since I'm a mage and a strip for trees to get some resin (broadleaves seem to have roughly 1-in-5 chance to drop a resin, not ideal, but not too bad). But now I'm getting into the dishes and upper end armors until I get the elder set... so.. much planting... @_@
I'm not that far into the game yet but what is the point of farming all these plants. You had a great guide on how to farm flaxseed but didn't want to explain why you farm all the flaxseed?
did they update the game, cause when we were playing it we didn't make the rake early on so when we tried going back to farm it was past the point of no return, reddit said we would have to make a new character to get the basic rake
my game isnt working like this so either they changed it or im doing it wrong , my basic well gives me 6 or 7 water and when i pickaxe dirt to pick it up it left the dirt alone and picked up the dirt and rock below the dirt leaving a hole covered by dirt
My method: Use grass outside your house. slower? Maybe. But will still be grown when you will be back of your 30 minute quest And taking time placing them saving space? Hell no. Just go out and run arround in an area spamming them. You have all the grass and way enough space. Why losing time when you can spam click them. For the water your trick is good use it. And then, just remake new plants constantly. You go from maybe 5 plant harvested to 50 in one hour and a quest, And from than 50 to 500 in another hour and another quest with 3 or 4 seed crafters Then with 500 of that plant its pretty much unlimited and if you want more just spam them arround your base. No need to do complicated things. Also, you can place boisted farmsoil too but the limiting factor in farming isnn't the growing part, it's the crafting new crops part.
There's a farm south-ish of the third biome's(the one with the Pillars of Creation) tower that gives like 20 wheat grains, so I personally never plant it and just set up a nearby flame altar to TP and stockpile as needed. Way faster than creating seeds, planting, then harvesting. Plus, there's like 2 lions in there so I get 6 pieces of meat each run.
Im planting flax and cammile , its good but requires lots of water , well i have now my own wells so its much easeyer u can have more wells i have 5 atm lol
Water well gives you 8 water and improved well gives you 15. I got 176 hours into the game and it starting crashing the GPU. Must have been a bad update or patch. Any fixes.
The information about the well is wrong. Normal welks hold up to 8 water and improved wells can give you 15 water each time. Just let the well stay there for a while. And it is not to expensive to build more than one well.
Yep cool, I never felt the need to plant more than 100 seedlings at any given time. Thanksfully the game never gets tedious or forces you to mass produce like a robot.
I would probably never touch Minecraft again…or any other game for a long time if there was a mobile adaptation of this, using low poly textures…or even having a super low poly option for lower end devices…computer included

Found out the hard way lol. Had 30 something tree's and my clgame crashed every 5 mins. After chopping them down I've been fine. So knock on wood lol.

It's way more efficient to plant using button mashing while walking around, FYI. Can plant a field 50x faster. Good video.
I'm so glad I spent time leveling an area with the rake before seeing this....
I love your videos!!!!! This was very helpful!!! Thank you for doing these !!
wow great walkthroughs man, you helped a lot💪
Do note that if you want to spread farm soil with the rake then the initial block you put down MUST be higher than the surrounding dirt/rock.
Yeah boy the flax farm 😊 always needed

AS a person who planted estimated 5000 things in valheim 1 by 1; running around and clicking mouse 1 frantically will do.
why some flowers disappears after i put in a earth (soil)
Wish there was a tool to harvest more than one plant at a time.
100%, or even to plant an entire grid of seeds too!

You will need a lot of flax late game for armor.
Especially if you wanna play as a mage, ingredients for potions and spells and what not lol
I've been getting 8 waters for each basic well I built, then about 20 mins or so and it's filled again.

Hi
great vid. but one correction the 1st well is just outside the newbee cave when you make you toon.
Step 1: slap an alter down at the farmstead.
Step 2: profit.

the only thing that sucks with farming is you cant plant and harvest multiple plants.
Weirdly my Safforn grows better on normal soil, can anybody confirm this?
How about mobile games like Dragonheir.
Plant is spelled with an “a”. Not an “o”
so is water, walk, balk, brawl, stalk, hawk and many other words typical Americans pronounce with a broad "a".
Hell once in a while I’ll start planting and the plants will disappear even on fertilized ground
My stupid rake makes a wall and it wont just level. as soon as i get smarter than my rake ill be happy , (-:
2:40 that is a very stupid mechanic, is the devs noob or what, it totally breaks the immersion.
Farming in this game takes soooo bloody long to plant you really lose motivation to do it. There needs to be an easier way to lay down 100s of plants.
I feel like there should be more collectible NPCs that do tasks around the basev
