Hey X, just a thing that I noticed, you're using string to prevent the red vines to grow after a certain point, however, as of 1.18 you can right click the tip of the vines with shears and it will prevent it to grow further.

It would be really cool to have a ‘display’ slot in the shulker or chest which would then display that item in the same way the vanilla tweaks displays an icon
Sorry I mean in the same way the icon on the box is displayed in the vanilla tweaks resource pack, so instead of naming shulker, use a single item instead

Adding a stripe or two, or possibly even banner patterns onto shulkerboxes could be a cool way to add much shulker designs for the eventual inventory update.
Or maybe something even simpler, let us make each half a different colour by doing something like shulker box goes in middle row, top half dye goes in top row, and bottom half dye goes in bottom row

I am loving the build pallet X it is very unique but definitely all works together in that space. I may use this pallet in one of my own builds, I feel inspired.
14:14 Instead of using string to block off the vines, you can right click the vine itself with some shears to neuter them; they won't grow any longer. Since 1.18, and you'll hear a shearing sound like you'd sheared a sheep, and the vine's age value will be set to 25, thus it won't grow more.
This Episode was absolutely peaceful... The background music during the interior building (as well as the build itself) was absolutely magical. Good Job X.
The water elevator is a great idea, have been playing around with that thought for a while as well, but didn't find an elegant solution. Seeing yours gave me some motivation to look back into it and i managed to come up with a similar design, but my design is on downwards mode by default and just swaps to soulsand when being near the bottom end, using a pulse extender to ensure it's swapped in long enough.
I think some weathered copper here and there fits in that room really well actually X, like just the first stage, adding a little bit of green/blue to it.
The build looks good! It reminds me of something that would have been in Etho’s base last season. Which is a cool style and definitely uses interesting block pallets in surprisingly nice ways!

you dont actually need the top sculk sensor, just use the one at the bottom to detect when ur at the bottom, and set it to soul sand, and when it detects nothing, have it default to magma, (by using a sticky piston with slime power by the sensor)
I absolutely love the new background musics of the episodes, calm, relaxing and a bit mysterious at time ! Thanks for your feature of my "Sea of shulkers" resource pack! Your custom item pack looks quite handy. My pack was designed for an old version of optifine and minecraft, (no longer possible in the latest version) so it is supposed to show your items on top as well as display the Shulker texture in the world. Im glad to see its legacy live on!
Really love the room you built. The mixing crimson wood planks with nether bricks was a cool idea (even gave me an idea to try myself) Also how could you!? Not the baby fox!!!!
if it comes to a 2 way water elevator, I'd have probably built a pulse extender with a detection method of choice to the bottom stop, to push the soulsand in for long enough, and have it retract once the pulse extender stops. I mean, that's what I did back in the day for some nice hidden 2 way water elevators.
the pack is designed to work with any resource pack, and this would require making custom item textures, so is unfotunately not possible with the packs goals in mind
I love the build pallet and the build. It's very industrial. You could run some "pipes" of lava through the corners of the corridors to add some movement and lighting.
For the water stream you could have it's naturally on the magma block and when it detects someone nearby it makes it soul sand with a pulse extender and then it'll just go back to the magma block after however long, that way you don't need that long line of redstone from the top going down to the pistons
I love the new builds x. I especially loved how it felt like you were motivated again and felt inspired and creative, that’s what makes your videos so fun. Keep up the great work. Lots of love from Canada
I very much liked the new storage room it’s unusual but works well, I can imagine this build style being added to the rib cage almost like steampunk builds how people have moved into the rib cage and made a settlement in it, I’m thinking of knowhere in guardians of the galaxy.
I liked this comment because I was going to say the same thing. I feel like shearing vines is a really handy feature, but everyone forgets you can do it!
I understand the desire for the custom textures as it keeps things fresh for the hermits who play a lot of vanilla. However I'm starting to dislike how much it's beginning to stray away from vanilla. Not counting QoL changes, but the whole custom textures and sounds is starting to bring in a feeling of it being unrelatable - which the previous seasons captured so well. Just my opinion but I understand if you don't agree
Totally agree. As someone who started watching xisuma again after a while it took me a minute to figure out this isn’t modded with the tools and bonemeal eating and all of these textures. This isn’t a vanilla Minecraft server anymore.
I think the sea of shulkers one is great but having one that looks like a tool box for tools, a first aid kit for potions, a suitcase for extra gear, a lunch box for food and maybe a Skid style pallet for building materials and stuff like that to associate each box with what's inside...I myself also use vanilla tweaks and the inventory tabs mod now since you showed it and omg it is amazing (once you remember it's there lol) thanks for all the amazing entertaining content and entertaining streams as well
I'd love if we had "glass shulkers" where it looks like a display case, displaying the item in the first slot. With renewable shulkers, it would make for some cool builds/interiors, but I know the devs already said a trophy case isn't something they're interested in because it might overlap too much with the item frame.
it really depends on how very specific you want to get, but a mix of the items on top of the shulkers and those cases would probably turn out the best results even if it would take a long time. and also just bone puns.
Loved this episode X! How you showed the process of the building was amazing, really like how it turned out. It was kind of similar to the way Etho builds. Looking foward what you do next in the base.
I have to say, I love the look of the new upper storage room. Everything about the design is so strange, almost absurd even, but it came together so well. I'm greatly looking forward to what else you come up!
That shulker box texture pack is Really good idea. Especially if it will be able to show those icons when shulker boxes are placed on the ground. I believe it has to be possible as well. It may also use not the name to show the icon but the first item in the box
Hey X if you weren’t completely done with the skeleton yet you could introduce a bunch of greenery and life throughout the inside of the skeleton. It would bring life through something dead.
I love the way that room came out. It looked like a super difficult build pallet but it came out so nice you made it look easy but that speaks to your talent
I wish you could dye the shulker shell item independently, then mix'n'match the top and bottom halves when crafting a box. Lots of ways I could better categorize my shulker boxes with 2 independently coloured sections... Even better would be the ability to dye them the same way you can leather armor - with all sorts of in-between hues...
I know you tried to keep your copper clean, but the dull green could possibly support the transition, by having copper more oxidized on the raw side of that room, but the machine being spotless
The Sophisticated Storage mod has display items and you can dye all the shulkers (barrels and chests too) like leather which is really useful. One thing that would be really cool for a vanilla tweaks pack would be if it let you put a texture on the shulkers. So a combo of that mod and the vanilla tweaks item display. It would be so great to have a variety of textures for shulkers even if it's only a couple.
Hey Xisuma. I've been a quiet viewer over the years, but I just wanted you to know that I paticulary enjoyed this episode. I especially liked the middle part, where you went over your design process.
Great video. The overview of the vids contents at the start felt good and kept me engaged. I think a shulker with an item frame could be an easy recipe to make something like what you were experimenting with. Trade off maybe being that you lose a functional slot for a display item or something. This paired with shulker enchanting (or equivalent new system) I think would shape up to be a pretty solid, logical, and vanilla aligned inventory update
For shulker customization, I had previously thought about a ‘stamping’ system similar to how banners work. Similar to what you showed, but the pixels of of item would be part of the top shulker texture. Perhaps color of the item could be customized with dye either though a new system or dyeing it like text on a sign. To me, the actual item textures jump out too much. Obviously having it visible when placed down would be ideal.
I think a RP that displays the item when shuljer is placed would be more usefull as when invertory we can use tweekroo to see inside the shulker but when placed each have to be open individually especially when all are same colour
I don’t know how useful this would actually be, but given that you already number your shulker boxes maybe rendering those numbers visually would be that extra little clue/reminder. (Such as box 1 having a number 1 visible on it) I’ve also always loved the idea shulkers could be assigned an accent color/ribbon just a little stripe of a second color to offer more variety.
I have a mnemonic for my shulker boxes. Blue=blocks, grey=gear (tools, useful items), cyan=consumables (food rockets etc), purple=potions, red=redstone
This is one of the best episodes you've done this season! Loved the derpiness (is that even a word, tis now!) lol, also loved the way you structured the video out with creative mode explaining what you were doing before the actual footage, I'd love to see more of that, kept me really engaged with the episode. You're still amazing btw!
Maybe you can dye shulker boxes to contrast with the primary colors of the item on top? A box of buckets on a grey box would be difficult to identify immediately.

17:56 was so funny how xisuma fell into powdered snow and seconds later into a huge hole
14:00 if you right click on the vines with shears they will not grow any further, thus you can remove the string under them.
I love watching peoples design process. seeing the design of that one room was very cool!
Glad that Cleo and Joe helped you on most of your achievements!

I always like when the hermits sing a bit.
I think a RP that displays the item when shuljer is placed would be more usefull as when invertory we can use tweekroo to see inside the shulker but when placed each have to be open individually especially when all are same colour
Retexture the shulkers to be transparent. Then have a floating item, whatever is the first item in the box
The new room is absolutely gorgeous! Good job X! 🛷
Lovin the new warm and mellow asthetic of your color palate in your walls on the build xisuma! Thank you for the video.
Hey so you can use shears to keep the red vines from growing. You don’t need string. That contraption room has a little of that.
X for the elivator, the signal down might be better with a wall signal. Doc elivator uses it and it's super quick
I have a mnemonic for my shulker boxes. Blue=blocks, grey=gear (tools, useful items), cyan=consumables (food rockets etc), purple=potions, red=redstone
beautiful shulker/storage room! love the colors and textures, feels so alive
The fact your voice is so chill and with the music. It's so nice to see you build this new room! Great video.
The room is looking pretty cool
The room looks lovely and I like the changing bubble column idea.
The new room looks absolutely gorgeous, X! Love it
The room turned out really cool, the weathered copper looked nice dotted in.
Really loving the build! Very pleasant palette and design is just gorgeous! The spiral staircase especially :D
I've learned that swift sneak helps a ton with building as you can go faster and not fall 😅
This is one of the best episodes you've done this season! Loved the derpiness (is that even a word, tis now!) lol, also loved the way you structured the video out with creative mode explaining what you were doing before the actual footage, I'd love to see more of that, kept me really engaged with the episode. You're still amazing btw!
i love the organic look! The campfire in the lobby/main area is my favorite
Xisuma, I believe you can clip the ends of the crimson root stubs in order to make them stop growing-just use shears
Maybe you can dye shulker boxes to contrast with the primary colors of the item on top? A box of buckets on a grey box would be difficult to identify immediately.
