Well it’s more true to life that way. We live our lives to eventually end up rotting away forgotten by the world, oftentimes forgetting about the world ourselves. Apart from the people that have a preventative plan, it’s usually referred to simply as “shotgun”, but feel choose your own poison. The worst way to die is by growing old and dying a “natural” death as your body gives up on you in different oftentimes painful ways, usually with very little human contact as everyone else is too busy living their lives. Depressing no? Still the unfortunate truth, and with modern medicine people are going to extend your suffering if you don’t have a say in it. That’s why you should make it clear beforehand, if you loose the ability to speak or write you no longer have a choice in wherever your loved ones prolong your suffering or let you go. Or just don’t have any loved ones, doctors don’t care and prefer that you don’t take up a bed so they’re quick to just off you.
Aman Gyani Haha. Brain can’t stop thinking. I’ve seen both my grandparents on the closer side suffer trough it though, and you can’t be with them all the time. My dad was the one that found his father dead, already starting to get cold, alone in his room where he’d been kept ever since a stroke left him mostly paralysed. I knew my grandfather didn’t want to live like that but he’d never made it official so other relatives? Wanted to keep him alive as long as possible to transfer his assets bc they are apparently a-holes. My parents have said that if they end up like that, just let them die with dignity and don’t forcefully keep them alive at all costs. Retirement is only fun when you like my grandfather used to be able to do, can go out for walks in the forest, go fishing, join in on community events, show up at my place randomly just to talk when he was in town. He was so incredibly active until he had that stroke and was mostly bed bound afterwards, occasionally he’d get out in a wheelchair but not really outside out. This is what you might end up having to endure. There’s just not enough staff to even notice that you’ve been dead for probably an hour at least.
