I'm extremely happy that they put out a stable game for PS4. It's still been hard to get a PS5 so ppl, me especially, appreciate how hard they worked to give us this game

The Series S has a memory bottleneck. U guys seem to NOT understand u cant keep a GPU fully saturated to hit its max if u have memory bottlenecks which is why it bottlenecks below its specs in most games. There's other things that will hold off the SS GPU as well.
This tells me that this game could come to pc easily

Ps4 is still great. Just slower load times and slightly less polished graphics.
That shows what kinda devs PlayStation has in their first party studios.
Resolution mode looks incredible for the PS5 but I'll pick Performance over resolution any day. You can't beat really smooth gameplay. Massive difference between 30fps to 60fps. But fighting gameplay up to 80fps to 90fps with still amazing resolution. Perfect 👌

Exactly. Resolution mode loses it's novelty real quick. Performance mode is what matters in the long run.

@@drewmcdonald1077 That is a damn LIE🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣most people choose frame rate. Why would most people choose resolution that way the frame rate spikes down to 30fps and lags but with sharper images yet no fluid movement?

@@Harly206 Artists still feel passion for the projects they work on (not every artist, it depends on the project obviously). Or what, you really think that the concept artists, animators, modelers, riggers, programmers, musicians and a long etc only do it for the money? That they gave their lives to master their respective crafts just to get a check and buy houses and stuff? Sure, the money it's part of it, but you can SEE and HEAR the passion they had to bring this project to fruition.
Putting out stable performance on the base ps4 is hugely commendable.
How this game has stayed my favorite since the first is mind boggling. They effort they put in each system speaks for itself...

I've struggled to get a ps5 console, and still have a ps4. I'm working towards getting one. I'm so happy this is being released on ps4 and performs brilliant.
Looking forward to playing this on the slim. The first GOW was very smooth and clean so this is gold

Was suprised to see Machine Learning being used on the PS5 version to resample and upsample texture detail. Interesting use of the ML hardware present in the RDNA 2 architecture.

This looks like a peak ps4 game that's been ported to ps5 instead of a ps5 game being broken down to run on older systems.
Definitely the way to go.
Going to try quality / high FPS for 40 for first playthrough at medium difficulty.
Then for replay, all collectibles, and highest difficulty I'll be going for the favour performance high FPS for 90 fps

Definitely 1440p @120hz is the sweet Spot.
Imagine what they will eventually get out of the new gen consoles if they can get this out of ps4

Tbf there are certain developers that critics have pretty big soft spots for so they're a lot more forgiving.
Arkane, FromSoft are a couple Ive noticed recently. Where there games always have extremely rough performance but are allowed to get away with it.
As a pc player used to high frame rates im so glad they can get this running at 80-90fps on ps5. Gonna look great on my 120hz lg oled.

If the ps4 pro offered free sync support like one x then the performance mode would feel better. So staying in quality mode for improved resolution atleast and even frame times.
The performance mode on pro should be dropped to 1080p with dsr down to 900p maybe

Maybe the PS4 pro could run this at 60 frames per second if the resolution is patched at a fixed 1080p instead of the dynamic resolution that is at 1080/1656p
Probably not, the PS4 has a really slow cpu that’s most likely bottlenecking the gpu here.

I'm happy that Ps4 version performance well so most of players can enjoy.
PS5 only support VRR down to 48 fps, and no support for LFC! Those 40-38 fps drop will therefore not benefit from VRR.
Hopefully my launch model base ps4 doesn't explode playing this

If PS4 PRO did supposed VRR then we can have a lock 45
You can play ragnarok on the ps4 but your ps4 will become a jet taking off
But these will both pale in comparison to the inevitable ps6 remaster, not to mention the ps6 pro enhancements

Sony is smart. They are slowly making the transition to next gen as more people get it. But at this point there is no reason to get a ps5. Ragnarok and RE4 are coming to PS4. While Spiderman 2, Wolverine and FF7 rebirth will be out by the time more people will own a PS5.

Looks like Resolution is the play for PS4 Pro, the bumpy FR on Performance mode seems like the weakest test here so probably best to avoid it.
