    What stunning workmanship! I'm in Northeast Ohio and have done just a bit of punch needle. I always wanted to learn about using wool and all the dyeing but the only person that could have taught me passed away when I was in my 20s. Now that I'm in my 70s, I work with paper crafts. I was exposed to hooking as a child because an aunt hooked rugs. She drew her own patterns and the family members saved woolen garments for her to use in her rugs. Thanks for sharing Judy's amazing talents!

    Wonderful video! I remember my great aunt showing me her materials and how she cut the wool. I was only 9 and she was a little bit of a scary lady to me so I didn't ask her if I could try it. Now I'm 63 and want to start out with a simple needle punch project.

    I sooo enjoyed this video and interview. Mostly because Ms Sadler answered every question in a short and concise way. Really enjoyed seeing all of her creativity and hearing about her process with dyeing, designing, wool usage, etc. I have done needle punch and a very little rug hooking but she helped me to see a more in depth picture of the art. Thank you

      What would you to suggest for a beginner class?

    • @lindak7499
      @lindak7499 2 года назад +1

      @@lynnbomar5720 I would suggest 30 minutes on the bare/basic tools a person needs to get started e.g. frame types, backing, yarn, tool, etc.) Then if they decide this is not for them, their investment is minimal. Then some basic suggestions as to a simple design (with visual examples, either drawings or actual samples). Also ideas on where to find design ideas. Just some suggestions.

    Thank you Judy for sharing your passion. At 32:24 there was a picture of a rug with a snow scene, house and hunter in the magazine 'The Loop'. That rug pattern was done by my Great Aunt and hung over my dad's chair for many years. Could you tell me where it came from? This aunt was much loved and the rug is passed into the family- but I am inspired by it to start rug hooking myself🙂
