Listening to your mashups made me realize how much layered vocals were huge parts of Florence’s signature and how they are missed on the new album, Dance Fever, I personally feel that it lacks power (vocally speaking I mean) and your work allows to encapsulate this particular vibe that I’ve always loved about Florence perfectly ! Thank you very much !
in fact there's a lot of layered vocals on Dance Fever! but you have to listen closely, they're not typical "background vocals" like on HBHBHB for example, but they're often a lot higher notes than the main vocal or - my favourites - very low ones, like on King or Choreomania. But I have to admit, they took me by surprise while I was listening to Dance Fever on headphones. I haven't properly heard them before, but I remember the feeling I had when I first heard them, it was amazing, like kind of "rediscovering" these songs, finding darker and deeper layers... Just- WOW It's one of the reasons why I love Dance Fever so much
@@paulineg20024 Ohh yes I see ! You’re right even though it’s not as bombastic and dramatic as in Florence’s other albums... It’s more akin to... embroidery ? somehow, yes it reminds me of lace, embroidery, very thin and detailed fabrics which I’m not really accustomed to while listening to Dance Fever compared to FATM previous works ! It’s different ! It’s more... quiet to me ! But I get what you mean I’ll have to try listening to it with headphones ! Thank you ! :)
@@plaacebo hahah no problem! I love every album for their differences. like, Flo has her style but she changes the vibes with every album, which I love, to be honest, but I get it that it can feeling too different for some :))
wow thanks! yes i've always loved the vocal layering - there is actually still a ton in dance fever, it's just really mixed in. If you listen to the songs in dolby atmos (ie on apple music and some other platforms) you can pick out some really amazing vocals!
oh, i am _enamored_ with how easily both songs fall into a groove with each other, truly like a dance. this one is masterful. the interweaving vocals sound seamless. the chorus of dog days are over has the same energy that choreomania's rhythmically consistent instrumental does. thank you for this joy of a mashup
found this looking for live choreomania performances- it’s so good!! 3:01 is so up beat and i love the way the music is layered like many other florence + the machine songs!♥️ also yeh other comments described it well: like a weaving or tapestry the way it’s made
