    when the missile gets chaffed or notched, it switches to datalink, making it essentialy a fox 1 tho it wont be able to hit the actual target. The problem is in this game, all aircraft radars can be notched. So when your missile gets notched during bvr, its always the case that your own radar gets notched too, thus disabling it from giving datalink to the missile to help it reaquire its target. BUT, the ONLY and FIRST plane in the game that gets an unnotchable radar is the RAFAEL. Gaijins attempt to implement AESA has given this a legit unnotchable radar, at least as far as ive tested it. Which means if you use a HARD lock, track lock, and maintain the lock all the way, the missile will never , ever lose track by notching or chaffing. This means that the only way to dodge mica is to either do proper defending going cold etc or arcady ass multipathing. So yeah this means it can be really good in high altitude bvr BUT it also means that this missile is literally unchaffable and notchable in a dogfight as long as you maintain radar lock, which is guaranteed with rafael radar. Just make sure you use hard lock.

      @SauronBaggins69 interesting, I wasn't aware. I'd heard people say that it wasn't properly implemented yet but i guess I was misled.

      He gets unintentionally notched at 7:43, am I misunderstanding something or is that an exceptional case in your hypothesis?

      @iamgaard it's a bug that all radars have in the game that happens very rarely

    I use WTRTI to constantly monitor the IAS speed, in the program you can assign different speeds to different sounds. For example, after reaching 1400 km/h, a sound starts to sound every few seconds, then at 1420 with a higher frequency, and at 1443 (the speed of the structure breaking 1458) the voice overspeed sounds. And so you can listen to it without concentrating on the value and orient yourself when it's time to reduce power. I used it on M2K, so I continued on raFAIL.

      @@angrytexan8883 Unfortunately, I think such a tutorial is very niche and it will be useful literally only to players of Rafale and Mirage, because only on them I have come across such a thing. Although I thank you for the idea, maybe I will try it.

    obviously these aircraft are still being used in service, so Gaijin does not have accurate blueprints or manuals for the aircraft, meaning stuff like top speed, thrust, rip speeds, and damage modelling are not going to be realistic.

      @@Galaxy47712 thank you, tbh though I don't really have anything particularly special set up in terms of settings. If you search 'war thunder settings' you can pretty much just copy what you see in those videos, most experienced players run everything mostly the same way.

    You monster.. asymmetrical loadout. Nah, kidding. Although I hate asymmetry I've grown used to it, given tanks like the Abrams or Panzer 4. Still, would choose 6 MICAs and 2 Magics over 7:1, but eh, personal preference. And as much as I wanted to grind to the Mirages, the Eurofighter made me switch back to Germany. TwT

      @@AllTheNamesIWant i was actually trying to get footage for that, and what I found is that basically, how well you do in that sort of aircraft comes down almost entirely to the enemy's situational awareness (or lack thereof) because non IRCCM heat seekers are so easy to flare. Maybe I'll revisit in the future but honestly I feel like it would be misleading to claim there's some sort of ideal trick or tactic to use in those things.

    the stupid rip speed should be changed but probably won't for awhile, maybe if f18 suffer the same problems since it will have the same x1.05 of max speed for rip speed but powerful engines like the Rafale

    • @nicolaspeigne1429
      @nicolaspeigne1429 4 дня назад

      @@angrytexan8883 the rip speed is an arbitrary value of 1.05 time the max operational speed, but it's for simplicity sake, for example the F16 all share the same rip speed despite having slightly different max speeds, because the airframe stay basically the same.
      The rafale max speed is limited by the size of its intakes more than the airframe itself.
      At the end of the day it's a balance decision, that's why it may not happen for the Rafale alone, but if the problem is also shared by the F18, maybe the whole force of complaints from the USA playerbase will make things change.
