They began with the name Kleenex until the threat of a lawsuit by corporate giant Kimberly-Clark (who had copyrighted the name Kleenex) forced them to become LiLiPUT in 1980.

These guys deserve much more credit than they get which is non. Considering their genre and where they come from their sound is awesome and many contemporary musicians have shamelessly ripped them off, even their look PJ Harvey is top of that list.

Ive been reading with some confusion that the lead singer of KLEENEX ...Regula Sing and Ramona Carlier of the Mo dettes are the same person. While i can see a slight physical resemblance their stage performance are very different. Regula is quite static whereas you could never say that about Ramona.

It's almost correct. Just "Sie" should always be translated "they". "They can buy anything", "They cannot dream".

That's Liliput's second vocalist, Chrigle Freund. She was in the band from 1979 to 1981. This can't be from 1978...
Are you mad? It clearly says KLEENEX on the drum podium, not LiliPUT + It's definitely Regula Sing (Ramona Carlier) singing here.
@@TheNiall666 except that regula sing looks nothing like this girl. i'm still confused, sources on internet are scarce, but i think this is really chrigle freund. i can't explain the contradictions though, except maybe that they still played as kleenex for a short time after regula left, contrary to what I've read.
@@TheNiall666 yes, it says, but regula sing, who went to work with the mo-dettes, looks nothing like the singer on this video. what I think happened is that chrigle freund came aboard and they kept the name for a short time yet thereafter, contrary to what I've read on the net. because, believe me, this woman CANNOT be regula sing.
@@Ohorrorohorror Chrigle Freund is very different in appearance, as can be seen in the live performance of Die Matrosen / Turk / Split, where LiliPut have 5 members.

No. But their English is more poetic than most English speaking poets/ lyricists. They have "English" songs on their first two albums that they wrote using an English dictionary which have a "blurred" quality similar to the way REM and Throwing Muses use the English language. Tres gut stuff!
