It's always nice to give something special to someone who means something to you, this little girl will always remember how you made her feel special. 💖
Super, reindeer and moose are my favorite animals, just a shame I’ve n bandsaw, I did try the hearts though, they’re glue drying now for me to cut and sand tomorrow, wish me luck👍🏻 Thx for uploading, hope to see more of you next year😀
I think you could even do the reindeer on a scrollsaw - the blocks I cut from are only about 6x7½ cm. Very happy to hear that I've inspired you to try the hearts - please let me know how it goes :)
I was genuinely surprised how much easier it was to cut the teak compared to the pine - my guess is the pine, because it is so soft, is much more "grabby" on the blade. But yes, it is about time I put a new blade on the saw anyway :) Merry Christmas to you too.
This is brilliant! How do you even come up with this 3D shape in the first place? I’d love to see a video of you describing your thought process for a new build...and Merry Christmas to you, too!
My thought process? Somewhere between divine inspiration and a lot of trial/error. In this instance I went by how I thought a Christmas reindeer should look, then drew that on a piece of paper (frontal and side view). After a couple of tries, I had the pattern down to something workable. Often I build by "winging it" - I may have a piece of wood that I want to use, say for a box. I then work out how big the box can be (two sides, two ends), then try to find something suitable for the top and bottom - it is in fact rather random when I build. The same when I make cutting boards. I grab a bunch of wood, then by putting them side by side, I work out what I think will look good. With a bit of planing, some adjusting and perhaps adding or removing a strip or two, I get something I like - and often (but not always) something, others like too.

I sincerely hope I can lift her spirits just a little bit - she deserves that after her accident.

I need to finally get a bandsaw! These reindeers are so awesome and cute :)
Thank you - I've had a lot of fun making them and yes, they are really cute :)
Good video. Hope you get a new band saw blade as a Christmas present.
Merry Christmas 🇩🇰
