Hello everyone! This is a combination of all 6 of my Battlefront reviews in one video. I've made a few changes and updates here and there, mostly for BF1 and 2. Sorry if there's a bit of back and forth with mic quality, I didn't want to re-record the entire first video, my apologies. For clarity's sake, the VIDEO RELEASE order is BF1 > BF2 > BF2015 > BF2 2017 > Renegade > Elite > This one. Watch my editing and overall structure of my videos improve as you go, WEEEEE. I've added in a mod/PC section for the Battlefront 2 part, and I talk about the PSP version in this video, too. Hope you enjoy, and now I can feel safe to never talk about this series again. GG. It's a classic joke for longform analysis at this point--the best is PatricianTV's "Brief Skyrim Retrospective" that is like 20 hours long split into two parts that are like 9 and 11 hours respectively.
There’s one important thing you missed while talking about BF2 (2005): the Classic Collection version allows you to toggle award weapons once you reach legendary status.
I was debating on putting the classic collection stuff in here or not. I went with the mod/PC discussion instead. This is good to know though, thank you.
20:30 random thing, but you mentioning that Tusken raiders can hold command posts made me remember that I've seen it happening once that the AI Tusken raiders won a battle capturing all command posts. The game treated it as a lose for the player team.
It took me a week's worth of work to produce a 20-minute video a long time ago, I can't imagine how much time it takes to do a nearly 7-hour video. Outstanding work
38:59 I could be wrong but I think there's actually a clutch mechanic where the enemy AI gets slightly better either when they're losing or when you're doing well
I'm glad to see these series of videos combined into another familiar big compilation, these Battlefront videos were always some of my favorites! As another random big video recommendation I say is Team Fortress 2 (Given you have footage of it from your L4D video)
Hey Dorkaxe, I love your videos. One thing I don't think you mentioned was the commando pistol in battlefront 2 (2005). certain classes such as the clone jet trooper got that instead of the standard blaster pistol. It had a much faster rate of fire and was one of my favorite guns. keep up the great work!
Strong PatricianTV allusion with the title, as well y'all's writing/analysis style in general. Thet is high praise, as Pat has gotta be one of the best writers in longform vidya essays--possibly for all of YT full stop.
ayla secura, grievous, and ki adi mundi were OP in the og BF2, especially in the all heroes mode. I remember grievous having a special lightsaber flurry attack that pretty much one-shots anything in the game. ki adi mundi also has a front-flip-slash thing that could be chained indefinitely and also pretty much one-shots anyone.
oh yeah pandemic battlefronts are my childhood I play once in a while to this day. The later battlefronts from EA were a massive disapointment made for newer/battlefield gamer. P.S. the remote rocket is actually really overpowered, the trick is to use the sprint key to boost the velocity up which causes a huge explosion on impact.
Being honest I probably won't watch the whole video but I saw a bit of what you said in the EA Battlefront 2 part about the progression and the obtuse menus and I agree, I bought the game like 5 days ago and tried it for a bit and while I liked how the game felt in general, seeing that whole progression thing turned me off so much I ended asking for a refund lol
I honestly wouldn't have as big of a grudge with the EA reboot if they didn't just try to take the name and soft erase the old games, making it impossible to discuss the old games when people only heard about the new one with the identical name
The rant about a story mode for the Galactic Empire near the end struck me as really weird. I kept watching it, waiting for you to pull out the rug and respond with something like, "That's what some people think, but here's why that's wrong." I mean, there are plenty of games where you play as the villains in a campaign. Here's one of them: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005). I'm just wondering where your rant was in that game's section. Something about how every mission made you sick to your stomach and how you couldn't bear to watch the endings to the Imperial and CIS galactic conquests.
My guy you can't be serious lmao I recorded an entirely new section talking about this, retreading this very argument! Did you just not keep watching??
@Dorkaxe I watched literally the entire thing. Do you think "they irredeemably evil" is an argument? [EDIT] Oh, wait, are you referring to wanting to see the journey of that one guy turn good? In that case that's missing the point, since there are many ways to make a compelling story for a villain other than to make them no longer a villain by the end.

Incredible quick video that summarises all the games neatly.
Well put together video, was a nice look back the nostalgia line, thank you! :)
Glad I can say I was with you on this journey since you had around 1k subs. Hope 2025 is an even bigger success for you

Well these were all worked on at various points in the past 4 years lol, probably an accumulative 5-6 months of work I'd say.
Thank god this was brief
This is where the fun begins..
38:59 I could be wrong but I think there's actually a clutch mechanic where the enemy AI gets slightly better either when they're losing or when you're doing well
A 7 hour Dorkaxe video about star wars...this just made my day!!!
I'm glad to see these series of videos combined into another familiar big compilation, these Battlefront videos were always some of my favorites! As another random big video recommendation I say is Team Fortress 2 (Given you have footage of it from your L4D video)
I just finished replaying both classic games 5 mins ago and come across this, what timing!

for what it's worth, I really liked your poem about the hero characters for the first game lol

You deserve way more subscribers.

You put in so much effort for so few subs
thats how you go from few subs to huge subs

Ah yes, I forgot to update that small error. Shoot lol

I wish it was a bit longer this is too short (real)

Sad that the best game in the series was cancelled
