Thanks very much, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I have plans for expansion in the near future but as you know I work alone when making the videos so it can take literally hours to just film one and then a couple of days with editing and then I just give it away on the internet for free! I now have a second camera that can be used like the first one and mounted somewhere in the car, I still have to buy the mount though. (about 100 Euro) I'll get there sooner or later
Really enjoyed this review. It's inspiring. I'm getting the 1.4 TSFI tomorrow. I live in Cairo, Egypt. Getting the two door. Thanks again for a positive, informative review. Cheers!
Just made 500 km with the same model 1.2 tfsi. I am happy that i paid 4,000 euro more for audi, than of ibiza, polo or jazz or whatever usual car. This car gives me that feeling that the others of the same category cant cant..so simple.
Bob, I've been watching your channel for a long, long time now and I just want to say you're not only doing a great job but your review style and comfort in front of the camera has come such a long way since I've started watching. If I could offer a bit of advice it would only be to incorporate another camera angle into your videos, maybe head on for example. I know you're at the mercy of money with this but it's fuel for thought. I'll continue watching regardless. Fair play. :)
Yet again Bob another grand review of motors on sale. The Audi motors are some fine looking pieces of automotive engineering and I have seen two or three of the A1 on the road which do make you do a double take for their looks.Just a question Zenon Headlights are they worth the few euro or is it a plot by manafacturers to get us to spend more on a car option cheers lad Daz
I did do a podcast awhile ago but the videos overtook that and I just didn't have the time for recording. I am on Irish radio from time to time, Midlands Radio 3 and East Coast FM when something car related happens. I might go back to podcasting if things ever calm down
Xenon headlights are a lot whiter than normal headlights which means you can see further in the dark, they also look a lot cooler with the LED pack than standard lights. I'd take them as the option.
It's a mouthful but here you are Master and Commander Prelude from the Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, there's some fantastic classical pieces on the Master and Commander soundtrack, it's worth a look
totally agree with you, I just really wonder how they came up with that design, they kind of remind me of the first Audi TT (the egg shaped one). I mean they have nothing to do with the overall current Audi theme on tail lights. Having said this the rest of the car is marvelous.
How would you compare the Audi A1 to a Ford Fiesta and Opel Corsa?.Do either of those come close to the A1?. Also,I notice that you can't test drive a 1.4 ltr Audi A1 here in Ireland,as no dealer here sells it.
If you cut 'As you can see here...' or 'this is the...' parts of the speech you can have a successful radio show - I found out that I can actually watch your videos without watching it - you talk about the car in a way that I can see it without sitting in front of my computer - if you know what I mean. Try podcasts with 'review with ear' series - I would subscribe for sure. All the best Bob!
The best engine is the 1.4tsi with cylinder on demand. It does everything, it's nippy around town but still does nicely on the motorway. The 1.2 is great with less power but does lack a little cruising ability
It depends on how you term value. If all you're after is a car this size to trundle about in so you can go to work and shopping then yes I agree with you. However, if you want something that will let you be a driver and have some prestige then this is brilliant value for money.
Funny you should say that, I'm just out of an Opel Meriva and Kia Optima so both those videos will be up soon. The Optima is a far nicer looking car than the I40 but they both drive the same. I'd buy the Optima for looks alone
The only disgrace of this car in my personal opinion is the terrible choice on the back lights... obviously aesthetics are always personal, but they totally destroy this car for me... I really wonder wtf they were thinking when they designed those "things"

Design is in the eye of the beholder but I see what you mean, I think it goes with the overall look of the car.

Nice talk! I wonder what car do you personally drive/own?
The S6 is coming this year, I'll have that on test while it's here. Next time I'm in Audi Germany I'll ask about the others

It's more fun than I expected it to be, German car's aren't usually fun
No matter what anyone says about cars it'll be used before...I'm sure he's said everything.

I shall ask the lovely folks at VW Ireland if they have one and I'll come back to you
Flavor Fla!!!!
Nice car - but I would have liked to have seen more of it than some Irish Guy in the driving seat...
It's a great engine but then the VW group engines are we thought out and always sound nice
'Tis always me :D
Very different and much bigger car, Guiletta is Audi A3 size.
We in the US don't have such cars.
I prefer a afa guilitta
