I still never got to see any of these movies but as a kid I was sooo attracted to Natasha...I always had a hard time dealing with villains you are attracted to who would kill you...
It's a terrible reference. Putting something in just because another film had it makes it stand out like a sore thumb if there is no real reason for it to be there. In 2001 the advertising was on a flight path that probably hundreds of people each year pass by. In Species II it was on a ship that was one of a kind. Who are they advertising to? It's dumb as nuts!
Afaik the senator said that the US industry made the flight to Mars possible. And no - I don't think the comercials were for people on Mars, but for people an Earth who were obsessed by this voyage to another planet. So everything's fine with me. Also it's a reference to "Silent Running 1972". Till they have no better Alien or Predator movie I will watch Species ..
First two movies have really good novelizations, which are arguably always better than the films. Also, in the second, Eve had way more superpowers than you see in the film. (had to read the books back then because nobody would let me watch the movies)
Hahaha, no one would let you watch the movies back then and now you probably won't allow yourself to watch them just because they're so bad. Well, the first one is a guilty pleasure I guess, but man this second one sucks!
First one's still good, second is a guilty pleasure. Third is what appears to be a cheap TV pilot that never happened and fourth ... well, it looked like someone tried a From Dusk Til Dawn crossover and epically failed.
I tried watching the third one recently. I couldn't take more than 10 minutes of it. It was so bad I just had to turn it off. So I've no interest in the 4th film.
That pun was most certainly intended! Never even knew there was a species 2, sounds like that might've been for good reason. I will say, maybe they decided to try to expand the market for Pepsi off earth because everyone there is buying coke..
Too bad I don't remember anything about this film. Now I know why, it's pretty bad. I'm sure they have other species films but I didn't even bother to watch them
I wouldn't mind a reboot to this franchise, the first two movies where pretty good.
I'd say the first was good. Everything after that, not so much! Still haven't been able to bring myself to review the third and fourth movies.

Like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct and Total Recall!
Cant find your reviews for Species 3 and 4?
The advertising on the space ships is probably a reference to 2001.

If you think about it if you combined this movie and "Split Second" you have a rated R Venom movie that's how to do Venom right LOL.
Yeah man, saw this years ago and promptly forgot all about and it sounds as if it was for good reason.
I'd say a very good reason indeed!

Dude, there's even a Species 3 & 4, get your head around that!!!

Species 3 and 4. I've never seen them either but I'm psyching myself up to do it. May take a while :-)
Bryan Lomax Movie Talk You know what, if you do a review on one of them someday and get me convinced to watch one...im sure I will lol
While I appreciate the sentiment I'm not sure it's enough to make me want to move on it any quicker.
Bryan Lomax Movie Talk I don't blame you man
The first movie had a lot of sex scenes and violence.
It did, but it really felt like they were trying to go a bit more overboard with this one.
Thats why we watch it! hahaha!
More of a "characters & story" man myself :-)
