    @NordicIreland you missed the point i think, this video is a basic history of derry starting from the ice age. Remember there is more to derry than just politics.

    According to Dowcra's own memoirs - when he arrived in 1600, there was nothing of Derry left. He had to build a refuge for the soldiers. There was no serviceable accommodation at all.
    It was derelict.
