Good to know 😃 Do they color swatch their labels with the actual inks or are they printed? After watching lots of videos looking for ideas they said the colors were off on several of the labels. This way I don’t have to pull out my swatch book 😃
@@CraftyConceptswithErin I meant it would a great idea IF THEY supplied the label . They don’t actually supply one now. I’m sorry if I was misleading 🙄
Thanks for sharing this Erin! After spending an evening labeling my inks, and making swatches of them, I can't help but wonder why Ranger just doesn't add a label to the container before they are sold and save us all the trouble! LOL
Thank you for sharing! Such a great idea. Not only the storage idea, but your labeling ideas. I think we all have ever evolving craft rooms. Thank you again!
I am poor and I went to the Dollar Store and got the 14 small crates and cloths pins. Already have the paint and glue, also a small 4X4 lazy Susan. and 5 of those inks fit in each crate. You tube tutorial: Dollar Tree DIY Amazing Ink Pads Storage" by Faithful Designs By Christy. My Oxides are in a White/Teal tower, the Inks are in a Black/Tan tower. Look awesome and Stack up and you don't need to take the stack out, they are separated and one can be taken out without others coming out. Also with Velcro you can stick the pads next to them ready to go.
Great idea. I would love it if you would share a picture of your ink storage with me. I really like your idea of storing the ink pad next to it. Thank you for commenting your idea for storage.
I am poor too. That unit she bought is twice the price in Canada @$44.00. So am going to make that storage unit you mentioned. I saw that video also and love it. The only idea I would do is to tape a full sheet of plastic at the top over the sticky pads to keep the dust off. Then just flip it up to take off the pad..
Hi, love your ink pad storage! It is beautiful! I just use regular clear tape to cover the ink and so far so good. I also store mine upside down even though Tim says that is not necessary. Tfs. Have a great day!
Thank you for letting us know about this system. It blends in perfectly with the system from ctmh. I have my new ink pads stacked on the carousel base as I only have a tiny space & by using the carousel I can turn it around to get to the rest of my inks. All my original inks are still in the ctmh box I bought at the beginning 10 years ago which I actually prefer to be honest as it keeps the dust out & is easy to pick up & carry. My oxide inks are in a case my grandson was throwing out but I need a new system as I have just about outgrown the case which came with two microphones in it originally, so it isn't large but it is beautifully crafted. I recently had to take my distress oxide inks out of the case & put them into an icecream container as a temporary measure!! 🤣 I can see that I am going to have to reshuffle some things so that I can add this new shelving system to my room.
This is a great video, thanks for some great ideals with storage and labelling, however i have tried the 'dome' shape blending sponge and you have to really push it into the space which isn't ideal so i would use the flat blending foams as you mentioned. They make the ink pad a lot more flat for storing. 🙂
Awesome idea and tip Erin. Right now mine are stored just like you originally had yours, but I’ll be buying that storage system pronto, I love it and I do label mine like you do but the clear labels are an awesome idea to protect it better from inky fingers lol. Thank you so much for sharing this tip. Have a wonderful weekend. 💕
Thank you for your informative video. You weren't featuring them but I love the little bags you keep your sponge domes in. Can you tell me where you got them please?
Hello, you are very welcome and I am glad you enjoyed the video. The little bags are pretty handy. I ordered them from Amazon. These are the ones I purchased amzn.to/3Nvx14U
Would you recommend putting the Distress Micro Glaze over the oxide ink to seal it? How are the swatches holding up? Your idea is brilliant and I already ordered the labels to do this!
That is a good question but unfortunately I do not have an answer for you as I have not tried the micro glaze. I have been using clear label tape to protect them. I wish Ranger would sell them with the labels already on 😊
Erin, thanks so much for your tutorial great job! You mentioned the word labelling for the ink pads, are you making that PDF available to your followers is there a site we could download it ftom? Gail
Hi Gail, these were labels I bought on amazon and then followed the manufacture's instructions to print the them. I had heard feedback from a few others who had difficulty getting them to print correctly. Now there are better options available where you can print out the labels already colored. I did find this site for you where you can download the labels for free loucollinscrafts.com/distress-ink-colour-combination-gallery/distress-ink-labels-chart/
I’ve owned my Distress inks and Oxides since they came out. My paper labels are very, very worn. I highly recommend you laminate them somehow. I’m trying to figure out how to remove the old labels so that I can remake them. It’s kind of a mess trying to get them off.
I was popping on to say try the same thing. There are lots of adhesive removers but maybe test it in an inconspicuous are to make sure it doesn’t negatively affect the plastic. I will definitely put the tape over mine. I hope I don’t regret doing all four sides of the ink pad 😂
Thank you, I am glad it was a helpful idea for you. The shelf is a unit I purchased from Michales a very long time ago. I do not believe they make them any more. I think the brand was We Are Memory Keepers or something like that.
That is a great question. Most companies make holders for their own ink pads. There may be some out there more universal than others but I don’t know what that would be. I always recommend you find an ink pad you like and collect the colors from that line.
Great idea . Thanks for sharing. But a better idea would be that Ranger sent a ready prepared label with their ink 😊

I've always labelled my inks this way for years. Easy to see at a glance
Yes exactly, nice and tidy and convenient too.

Right? I wonder the same, it would really make life easier. They do make labels you can now purchase for the inks at least 🤷♀️
hi erin! Where did you get the template for the labels? I am unable to find it and one was not sent with the labels. Thanks
I have those same storage trays for my Distress inks and I love them!
Nice! I was glad to have come across them, they fit perfectly.
Thank you for sharing! Such a great idea. Not only the storage idea, but your labeling ideas. I think we all have ever evolving craft rooms. Thank you again!
You are so welcome! Yes I agree, our craft rooms are always evolving to accommodate our stash and crafting work style.

I store my inks on the Spectrum Noir organizers as well. Thanks for the labelling ideas. Jeannine
They work so well for the distress inks!
How nice and neat this looks
Thank you, it feels good to have them so organized.
You explain things so well. Thank you!
Thank you, I’m glad you think so!
Could try inking the labels and then printing the name on top through your printer.
That is a great idea also, it would work on the lighter colors well.
Ranger sells the labels that fit the oxide, inks and paints.
You can use a gel plate and brayer to ink your labels.
Thank you, that is a great option and idea.
Great ideas Erin. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Great video, wish I had the room for a set up like yours. Beautiful craft space.
Thanks so much! It really is a happy place to hang out in.
Brilliant idea. I have mine stacked on a narrow shelf this would be perfect.
Oh good, I am glad it’s an idea you can use. I was excited to have come across it.
Thank you, Erin. I am ordering my labels now.
Have fun!

I love how you utilize and repurpose what you have. Often those make the best storage solutions!
Great solution! It looks so clean.
Thanks, I think so too and it coordinates with the CTMH system 😃
Always nice to fine tune, thanks for the inspiration
It is so nice when everything has a place, much easier to tidy up after a messy crafting session 😃
Nice! You are incredibly organized.
Thank you! 😊
I hope to get a scrap room like yours someday…I love the organization of your room!
Thank you! It really does help me to be more creative when I can stay tidy.
I will be buying that unit! Thanks for sharing such a great idea.

what do you think about covering the label's with clear embossing powder?
That is an interesting idea. Maybe test it on an old worn out ink pad to make sure the plastic can withstand the heat.
I'm sorry what I meant was to clear emboss the labels first and then put them on the ink pads@@CraftyConceptswithErin
Awesome idea! Thank you

I bought all of this and am dropping hints for the oxides for my birthday. 🎉😂
Ooooh, I hope your birthday wishes come true!
What a great idea Erin . Where would I find the templates to type the ink names? Anna
Thank you! The templates will depend on what labels you use. Every company has their own templates to correspond with the appropriate labels.
Great tips!
Thank you Judi!
Love this storage idea. Placed my order for them today. I was wondering did You have Your shelf made thats on the wall or did You buy it ? ty, Betty

This is great Erin, I think it'll work on my shelf as well; however, can you tell how high a stack of 3 are? Thanx 😊
Sure thing! Three trays high is 3 & 5/16”
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thanks so much

Brilliant!
Thanks! I’m so happy to have found this storage option.
Very informative thank you 🙏🏻🕊🌈❤️💯
Thank you, I am glad it was helpful!
There are many different shape and size ink pads my ink pads are a different shape some of them are oval can you get storage for all types of pads ?

I made my own labels
Nice! It’s a great way to get them exactly how you want.
I don’t see these particular trays in your link. Please list them.
I am happy to help, which trays are you referring to? The black stamp pad trays or the clear trays I keep the blending foams in?
I need someone to organize my craft room. Do you hire out. 😆
Lol, wouldn’t that be fun?
