Killing civilians and government officials and taking over the government is something you have to do because you don't like the structure of your country? He didn't give us anything, he became a dictator no better than the people he was complaining about and we're at the same stage as most african countries as far as development. His only possible accomplishment is democracy but even that you heard them say in the video he 'read the people's mood' (3:50). That's a dictator taking the que that people didn't want him in control anymore and he was wise enough to give up power.

We need a leader like this in Nigeria to take out of the hands of our corrupt leaders in this country. Leaders with great greed.

He came ,he saw and he conquered. Therefore he could be regarded as a great conqueror of our time. I watched one of the documentaries in England where he taught some Ghanaians how to make use of the gun that it is not made specially for any man ,that everybody can hold it He also told them it is a means of defense from the enemies. He was the President that made the Citizens in diaspora to feel proud to return back home from their demeaning existence in other countries to an enjoyable economy. Even after retirement I watched him control a jam packed traffic in his country. He was affectionately loved by his people because he made himself readily available to serve them while alive. Ghana has lost a treasurable President whose kind is not common. The great legacies he left will not be forgotten by his people .May he continue to rest peacefully in God's bosom. Amen.

He is the reason we are enjoying stable democracy in Ghana because he could have decided to stay in power forever like other African ditactors but he allowed multi party democracy to flourish so we are forever grateful to him.

My deepest condolences to the peaceful and loving people of Ghana for the lost of their hero, John Jerry Rawlings. I am a Liberian but I also admire his leadership abilities. He was a servant and not just a leader. Oh Ghana, the gold coast of Africa take heart. And may the legend soul rest in peace.
