Latha ,as always it is an awesome recipe. I am assuming that what you have shown here is same as Huli . If that is so , isn't it better to call it huli instead of Sambar which is a tamil word. I would appreciate if all the kannada cookery channels use kannada terms instead of Tamil (sambar , pongal , rasam etc) . I have nothing against any language but we should encourage our mother tongue usage else it will disappear. Hope you will take this feedback in positive way.

Hi, I completely agree with you. Yes..it is huli at my place, Kodlu/koddel at my husband's place. People also call this by name saaru, huli saaru etc., May be that's the reason sambar is used as a generic name. Bloggers or youtubers are forced to use the generic name to get much needed visibility and views. However thanks for alerting me, I shall keep this in mind and try to be more authentic.
I shall update the title and the description.

@@VegRecipesofKarnataka Thanks Lata for understanding my point of view . To be fair and give benefit to the bloggers to increase their visibility ...why not mention "Huli/ sambar" in the video title . Or during the voice over also one can mention that in kannada we call it huli which is also equivalent to sambar for others . This way it will satisfy everybody's need and our kannada terms and its equivalents can also be learnt by non kannadigas . I have been raised in north India right from nursery till my marriage. All my life I have struggled to teach people that there are 3 more states other than tamilnadu or madrasi as they used to call in those days. Now it is gotten much better because of cookery channels and social media. I hope you understand why I am so particular to get "kannada " it's due position and visibility. Recently I saw few kannada youtubers using the terms like kadai , kheer , khichari etc. Whereas even non kannadigas living in Blr don't bother to use our kannada terms. We should not blame them buy we ourselves have to put efforts to popularize our language . I love hindi as much as kannada as hindi was my medium of education..

I can completely feel your concern and point of views better than anyone else as I myself is living out of Karnataka (though I grew up in a village and studied in Kannada medium until my 10th grade). You have definitely made an impact and alerted me to not to get lost in the crowd. Thank you.
