I never thought about adding a very narrow framing strip before adding the sashing but I sure do like the look! I’ll have to remember this tip for my guild’s donation quilts for children that we do every year!

Perfect for that. Isn't it gratifying to make quilts for others?! Thank you for doing that and thanks for watching.

Absolutely stunning. I'm so glad to be able to bring you into my world each day and see what you're designing. A very small bit of play with color and a great big Texas hug to honor for their service. I know you helped someone today showing the mono views. I, too learned the invaluable trick some years ago, and it was so helpful putting a few shades of 'Rose pinks and fushia ' together. Thanks again

Carol you have done a wonderful job the narrow frame around each block really set them off. Very nice quilt, now do you do your own top quilting as well? Thanks so much for sharing such beautiful blocks. 👍❤️😊

I was a professional longarm quilter since 1994. This year I retired from doing that to concentrate on making videos and teaching what I have learned about quilting. All my blocks and tops made in the videos go to my local guild and to a church group for their various missions. After so many years of quilting, everyone in my large family have at least 3 quilts each so they don't need anymore! Thank you so much for all your comments and for watching! It is most appreciated.

This is a happy quilt. I enjoyed seeing all the different fabrics you used, as well as the variety of blocks, some of which were new to me. And I’m becoming convinced that framing the blocks is well worth the extra time and effort: it’s subtle and helps pause the eye.
I ordered your new book, it arrived last week and I’m having such fun looking and dreaming. I’m going to use my 6” Accuquilt block set to do most of the cutting; I don’t have the display space I once had and I’m looking forward to working small.
Thank you for your generosity in sharing your time and myriad talents with us.

My guild had a year long workshop for beginners and they finished the blocks and sashing this way. Many of us thought it was too much but when we saw the finished top, we were pretty much all speechless!! Haha
It is now my favorite setting. I think the 6" blocks will look amazing and the AccuQuilt will make cutting and piecing those small pieces a breeze. Thanks so much for your support and thanks for watching.

Carol this was excellent. I have only made 6 quilts and have never worked with sashing. I have learned so much from you. I feel like I have attended U o Carol's quilting school. More fun than any university I have attended in the past.

You are so welcome! But I can't take credit for the frames. Someone in our guild came up with the idea. When I first heard about it I thought "I don't thinks so" but when I saw the quilt, I was blown away! Thanks for watching.

Wow! I love this framing and sashing! I am working on a “Women of Advent” sampler quilt with sashing but I wish I had seen this video first. I definitely would have used this method instead. Guess that will be next time. Thanks for this great tutorial ❤

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT GET OVER HOW YOU MAKE IT SEEM SO SIMPLE AN ITS FANTASTIC TO LISTEN TO YOU BECAUSE YOU MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU EXPLAIN HOW THINGS ARE CUT, SEWN, AN THEN PUT TOGETHER...

1.Most of the blocks so far have been 12" finished. I am starting to include 10" blocks for more variety!
2.Hmmmmm...The Twist is 0517. I see the 0516 Hidden Squares.
Thank you so much for the kind comments. I am so happy the videos are helping you. I know you will make some amazing blocks and quilts. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
