Hi Iveoma, I'm sure anyone who is planning to move there now after seeing your video will do their research. I think people get so excited about moving somewhere they don't stop to make sure if the area is compatible with them and their needs. Great video! 😊
@@IveomaMedia it will be my first time in Nigeria, so I believe it will be the perfect transition area, even in the USA and the UK, Ive always lived in the Farm land area or Burbs.
I hope you find a better place! Thanks for the info! Can you discuss traveling to Nigeria from abroad now that the borders have reopened? I cancelled my plans for this year but thinking of coming next year.
When considering buying land for investment purpose in Ibeju Lekki Lagos, think long-term. That is, hold for up to 10 to 12yrs before reselling. That way you could resell for as much as 5 to 10 times your initial purchase price.
The very first objective review of Ibeju Lekki that I am seeing. Property sellers tell abroad people to buy and stay as against buy and keep. Yes its a place of the near future and its getting ready. Imagine living in Ibeju and working in Ikeja !
Maybe for young partying crowd but for those that like the quiet life or retirees its nice . Golf courses, resorts, quiet beaches etc So agree with most of your points In terns of it being a bubbling town that is Ibeju Lekku of the future not in the now. Young people can check back in 7-10 yrs but now is the time to get a slice of the pie . Secondly its not just the refinery, you have the free trade zone which will be tons of companies, then also the largest port in Africa yet more companies which translate to jobs n people .so it will be bubbling and if the government eventually goes ahead with the new lagos Intl airport it will be around Ibeju lekki. Perfect for travelers (like I said long term plans). Lasty the very basics in planning and research will tell you how far places are from the island all you have to do is use Google maps. I mean thats the very bare minimum you can do if moving somewhere. Lagoa is a WHOLE STATE you cant just say im moving to lagos and pack ya bags.
Ibeju lekki is the new Lagos. Its going to take over the lead focus of great activities like oil,Real Estate, Clearing and forwarding, manufacturing etc. This is the right time to position yourself there by acquiring properties there.Properties that were N700,000 as at last year are selling for N5 million now as a result of their Title status moving to approved C of o.The present Lekki phase 1 used to be a swap some years back.people were practically begged to buy a plot of land at 25,000 then, today, the case is different.
That this lady does not like to live in Ibeju lekki is a personal opinion. Its not an investment or professional perspective. You can build your houses in Ibeju lekki and rent them out to the oil workers and other business concerns there. One man's meat is another man's poision
My fav hair on! Fun story I called Nigeria embassy after 6 months of having my passport even before covid, asking if they started working the lady said “ we are still discussing when we will start giving visas so call back end of the week” like wtf it’s a whole embassy so they got the info before that the airport is opening why are they just now thinking and discussing It’s actually super weird they answered the calls cause they never do.
Pls, don't take my word for it, but I think it's VISA on arrival for everybody...However, check sassy funke channel for updates on such.. Shes more reliable than the embassy.

@ Six months ago! So sad. Honestly, I travel to Nigeria every year for Christmas but this year will be my first time not visiting. So much uncertainty around the world. Hence I've decided to stay until everything normalizes. Hopefully, Easter time will be better. In your situation, I still recommend Sassy Funke given the fact shes done extensive research and her mother just returned to Nigeria.

I'm sorry you're totally wrong, ibeju Lekki is not the village of Lagos that's what people said about ikorodu now it's a whole city of it's own. Ibeju Lekki is actually cool to live in. Thanks
For one million you may not get a buy and build in IBEJU-LEKKI. What you get for that amount in IBEJU-LEKKI is buy and wait. Except you want to consider Epe. Epe is also a nice location that is majorly residential.
I will be investing close to the beach, probably have a big night club and Haitian food. I would probsbly make a killing doing hair and makeup. I am planning on moving there in 5 years, I have to buy 2 or 3 acres.🥰🥰🥰
Hi Iveoma, Two questions: 1) Are you still happy overall that you moved to Nigeria from the USA? 2) What about educators? (I'm a high school teacher but I also do professional development for teachers/teacher training. I'm considering relocating so I was wondering about where the best schools are?)
Overall I am happy now. And I will be happier once I move to another location in Lekki. I have heard of teachers relocating to teach at private schools in Nigeria Bc the pay is better than the Nigerian public sector. I have no idea what the best schools are, great question though. I may look on LinkedIn and see what schools are available here.
@Terasa I, think returnees /diasporans should seriously consider Abuja. The infrastructure are far more better than lagos be it road, electricity etc.It has so many private schools within and around the city. For some reasons lagos is being hyped so much. Not everyone will live in Lagos with a population estimated to be 20 million. Some people get frustrated. ..
I think lots of returnees move to Abuja (not on RUclips perhaps) but in real life. However, many people move to Lagos because of the business opportunities, networking, and nightlife. I know for me, given what I want to do, living in Abuja would be pointless (however definitely looking forward to my weekend away there). And you're right, Lagosians deal with a lot of frustration with the poor infrastructure and huge population size.
The best schools u can apply for in Lagos, browse about British international School, Lagos, American international school, corona international school (lol forgive the name😂), greenspring school and so on, u can apply there
Nice video, but as someone who is currently here, if you eant a land that'll appreciate quickly, aka the next investment, buy in there, as of the time of this video, land there could go for 2 or 3 million, but now, it could go for 15-30million....the very same lands😂. As she's stated, Dangote refinery the largest refinery of it's type on the planet is completed, largest deep sea port in Africa is there, free trade zone is there and there are businesses there, a train would soon be built there, so it's more of an investment that is appreciating so fast sp it's worth investing in

Your agent did right to take you there. You would not recognise this underdeveloped area in 2 years to come. This is the same way lekki was, look at Lekki today. This is what happened to Ajah. If you have the money to invest there and you are sure your agent is legit, i'll advise you to do so. My 2 cents anyways.
Lmao yeah it's undeveloped, but in some years to come, check it out again, Nigeria is still a developing country though, in that ibeju lekki, many people are investing there cos they know how big it'll be in few years to come, many building estates, some building businesses and so on, it's still developing though

Bro u better take your agents advise and buy a land there, trust me when I say, in like 3-5 years from now that place will be very developed, it's still developing, there are many estates ongoing and many people are still investing there, people invest there cos they foresee the development there

There are a ton of estates here (gated communities with security). So I think it’s safe on estates, I feel safe driving around the roads, etc. lol However, It’s still Lagos so security is still an issue.

I noticed two things. 1.You need a source of foreign currency dollars /pounds etc to live in Nigeria nobody appears to be earning a living off Nigerian currency. . A lot of returnees seem to be making bulk of their money from RUclips. Well maybe the only people I know moving to Africa are on You tube!
Nah that's not true. There are so many returnees in Nigeria than make Naira like everyone else. Plus, I have done interviews with people that just make Naira. I also don't make the bulk of my money from YT either. I have an online business that funds my life LOL I don't know anyone in real life that does YT seriously but I know alot of returnees.
@@IveomaMedia What type of jobs/professions are these returnees involved in .I do know of someone but she works for an American company and her income is paid in dollars .What is the average salary in Naira? Everything from media to supply chain plus Nigerians have multiple hustles at all times. So 1 job may not give you the desired salary! Good evening sister, since you're planning to move, pls make sure you don't stay on the first floor, it should be second or third depending on the number of storey in the building so that when the rain/flood comes you won't be affected. Again why not try the mainland this time around, there's a lot of beautiful estates good roads, security, 70-80% stable power supply, foodstuff at affordable prices. Lol, so basically if you are all work and no play COME ON DOWN. Hi Iveoma, I'm sure anyone who is planning to move there now after seeing your video will do their research. I think people get so excited about moving somewhere they don't stop to make sure if the area is compatible with them and their needs. Great video! 😊

There is definitely a lot of peace and quiet LOL And the businesses that are popping up each day here are really killing it.
@@IveomaMedia it will be my first time in Nigeria, so I believe it will be the perfect transition area, even in the USA and the UK, Ive always lived in the Farm land area or Burbs.

You made a very smart choice of investment. Bravo
I know this is 3 years after this video. The prices of a plot of land in ibeju lekki right now is minimum 30m Naira
I know right. I hope she invested in a plot of land atleast
I hope you find a better place! Thanks for the info! Can you discuss traveling to Nigeria from abroad now that the borders have reopened? I cancelled my plans for this year but thinking of coming next year.
Yeah us also ❣️
When considering buying land for investment purpose in Ibeju Lekki Lagos, think long-term.
You are so much fun to watch, glad your channel is growing, keep up the work
Honestly you got my attention with the caption. Hahaha! The four points were carefully picked. Nice one
Hope you are alright lveoma?Haven't seen you for a while.Stay blessed.❤
Maybe for young partying crowd but for those that like the quiet life or retirees its nice . Golf courses, resorts, quiet beaches etc
So agree with most of your points
In terns of it being a bubbling town that is Ibeju Lekku of the future not in the now.
Agree with you 100%
This is why I am a Real Estate consultant, to educate the investors.
Fact
You would be surprised at how fast development will be coming to this area. Lagos is already congested anyway hence the need for expansion .
Finally found someone saying the real thing. Good one from Australia

I think the most surprising part of your story is that they picked up the phone LOL That never happens 🤣 I am not surprised at still discussing lol
Pls, don't take my word for it, but I think it's VISA on arrival for everybody...However, check sassy funke channel for updates on such.. Shes more reliable than the embassy.
African Truly I sent my passport there 6 months ago. So I need to get the service I paid for.
I don’t think it’s on arrival cause I’ve not heard sassy say it since I follow her and I’ve been reading.
Also I hope you get your passport soon!! 6 months is too long for them to hold it.
Hello Iveoma, my name is Elijah. I live in Houston Texas right now but I want to move back to Nigeria. Could you please tell me apartments as safe as yours to rent?

Hello sister
Where can I buy land to leave with my family that is not expensive in Lagos and again not ibeju lekki ?
Under a million Naira! Thanks
For one million you may not get a buy and build in IBEJU-LEKKI. What you get for that amount in IBEJU-LEKKI is buy and wait. Except you want to consider Epe. Epe is also a nice location that is majorly residential.
Honest observation thanks for sharing!!
I will be investing close to the beach, probably have a big night club and Haitian food. I would probsbly make a killing doing hair and makeup. I am planning on moving there in 5 years, I have to buy 2 or 3 acres.🥰🥰🥰
I also have beachfront estates at ibeju lekki you can check my Instagram and text me for more info
I might be wrong but I guess we were together looking at the land b4 buying it . (Rev.plus) .
Nice u have your place built.
Hi Iveoma,
Two questions: 1) Are you still happy overall that you moved to Nigeria from the USA?
The best thing for you is open your own school in that area...... You will do well.
As she's stated, Dangote refinery the largest refinery of it's type on the planet is completed, largest deep sea port in Africa is there, free trade zone is there and there are businesses there, a train would soon be built there, so it's more of an investment that is appreciating so fast sp it's worth investing in
It seems like Ibeju-Lekki actually bodes well for... Chevron. I last stayed with my cousin in Chevron, and man some of those estates are beautiful. If Chevron is "reasonably" close to everything, i see it becoming a more major hub.

You built a whole mansion!! Seeeeee people online are always pushing everyone to buy and build, when in fact you got to see the area first (if you are going to live there).
I wish you could take your whole house too. Girl we did not come back to live in boredom, we need some fun and excitement!! Quality of life is everything.
Is Magbon in Badagry or after Eleko junction? I know cos there's a Winners Chapel in the area, going towards Dangote refinery.
Maybe that Mansion could be converted into that upscale nightclub or a hotel?🤷🏽♀️
Lmao rent the house or better still, sell it
I laughed so hard at that clip I went to boarding school when I was in Nigeria so it didn't really matter if I was in the city or not but I can imagine my mother (who is 100% America ) must have been asking my father where in the world he had brought us to because our first house was just like that except in Port Harcourt

Love your honesty, I live in Uk and was going to buy a land and the agent took me to that place, I am use to living in Victoria island and I was surprised as to how far and how undeveloped the area is.
I was shocked too 😂🤣😂
Your agent did right to take you there.

Bro u better take your agents advise and buy a land there, trust me when I say, in like 3-5 years from now that place will be very developed, it's still developing, there are many estates ongoing and many people are still investing there, people invest there cos they foresee the development there
How about Osapa London
It's going to be the new happening place in the future and most people can't afford their own place in the current happening place .
Exactly.
Now that the location is still affordable, is best to buy now in loads of plots that one can afford.

I have an online business that funds my life LOL
I don't know anyone in real life that does YT seriously but I know alot of returnees.
And people also rent places from 400,000 naira and split expensive rent with roommates lol

Bogije and sapati fall under Ibeju lekki local government but not the core ibeju lekki.
Awoyaya is of course developed but can't be compared to Ajah, Abraham Adesanya.
I live presently in Ajah and have been there for over 4years. I can tell you for fact that the level of growth I have seen in these years has been tremendously rapid.

Cost of 2-3 bedroom apartments is about #500-600k per annum, it lit too. (The apartments are very spacious too)

Lol, so basically if you are all work and no play COME ON DOWN. Sell or rent if you are no longer interested 😁

Lol @ Western mentality of rent, I think renting a house or apartment in an area that you just moved too is common behavior around the entire world.

Age is only a number you know, It's Iveoma; so if you are retired, 60, 70, 80, talk less of 90; you should not have fun, just move to Ibeju, Lekki, curl up and die. How Charming! Years ago, in my 30s I watched Cilla Black's Blind date programme in the UK; an 84 year old English lady was matched to an 80 year old English male. When they got to destination, the lady wanted a committed relationship on the condition that the partner was vibrant and able to perform, if you know what I mean, because she was looking for fun filled last days, she said; she was upfront and left the guy when he was unable to meet up. Hence she got a wrong match. So people should stop Ageism, or any kind of discrimination in the media of all places. No disrespect to you.
