Floor brings a special magic to the whole group. Tarja Nightwish was brilliant. The Anette Nightwish albums were excellent. But it is Floor who truly makes Nightwish a ‘band of brothers’. These special accoustics with Troy, the little touches with Emppu, the looks and smiles exchanged with Tuomas, Kai and ‘new boy’ Jukka. Unless these guys are the best actors in the universe, it is the electric empathy between the group members which makes concerts so enjoyable. There is no feeling that they are just ‘going through the motions’ with ‘yet another concert’.

This live "Decades" would very probably never have seen the light of day without Dutch singer Samantha Steenwijk. She sang a Dutch version of it during Beste Zangers in 2019. The singers in that show sang songs of the other singers (with Floor among them). Steenwijk surprised Floor with a Dutch Decades especially because Nightwish never played it live and didn't have the intention to do so. After Beste Zangers Floor started with her solo shows and sang also songs she did during Beste Zangers. Also she did a more original although shortend version of Decades inspired by Steenwijk. And now even Nightwish played that version in an acoustic variant. Weird how such things can go.

Lucky you ;-) Last time I managed to see them was 2004 in Basel. Now that I finally could get tickets in 2020, I still had to wait for another two years. I cried tears of joy, when the lights went out that evening.
