I’m currently a student in college studying nutrition and dietetics. My goal is to be a sports dietician for an nfl team .I’ve been doing some research on physical therapy and I think I might double major in dietetics and physical therapy. Do you think nutrition and physical therapy will do me any good in the future? Like is nutrition a huge part in your work?
Not much especially as you work with higher level athletes. They end up having their own dietician. But I talk about basic nutrition to a large % of my patients.
Jon, I am a DPT and my dream job is to be a PT for the NFL. I have worked with professional athletes as well as at the FIFA World Cup and Olympics. How do I get involved with at least an internship with the Los Angeles Rams?
so confusing and overwhelming where to start this would be my dream job probably for nba i don’t even know where to start just coming out of high school

What should I major in to be a sports physical therapist? And what prerequisites can I get out of the way in high school? (I’m a sophomore, but next year I’ll be able to take IB and AP classes)
A lot of pre-PT undergrad majors are kinesiology, exercise science, or something around that sort. But you don’t need to major in one of those to apply for DPT grad programs. I’ve found (for my hs to undergrad experience at least) most prerequisites in hs don’t directly help unless you take the AP and score well enough. The prerequisites in hs really just make sure that you don’t go into the basic undergrad stem classes (general chem, general bio, anatomy and physiology) with no previous knowledge.
If you really know it’s what you want to do try to see try to shadow a pt first then see if there’s a 3+3 or 4+3 program at colleges near you. With those programs you have guaranteed entry into the graduate dpt programs as long as you complete your undergrad prerequisite requirements.

Just start working toward your DPT and learn everyday you cant build a quality brick wall in a day, lay a quality brick everyday
I can't find this answer anywhere but do sports physical therapists travel with their family as well everywhere they go with the team?
Not really sure tbh. Likely not.
Can I do a human performance major and then the dpt program and still become a pt for a NFL team or do i have to do athletic training?
hmm good question. not exactly sure, I guess it would depend on the role you have within the organization - I would say AT is not always needed.
Can I only listen on RUclips or is this also available on Spotify or some other podcast app?
yes on Spotify and all other podcast apps!
This is my dream but a UCLA gymnast PT

@@ElaineT223 okay thanks for the advise!
How much do these pro sport PTs make
it really depends. Have heard it varies a lot and the hours required also vary. Sorry for the vague response.
He said we can message him on Instagram. Does anyone know his IG handle?
"Thesabertoothwallaby"
@@sabertoothwallaby2937 follow back man lol
Wondering how much he is making as a sport PT?
So is a physical therapist and athletic training the same thing?
no not necessarily the same. Really depends on which country you are talking about.
I would love to be on this level though I feel that most women aren’t hired for these jobs.
Don't rule it out! Check out this podcast: theprehabguys.com/podcast/episode-74-to-become-a-pro-do-you-have-to-specialize-early-in-a-sport/
