Literally no one, not even the most rabid "free speech" warrior, denies that private companies currently have the legal right to deplatform social media users and to choose who they invite on for interviews.
More importantly, if you say "They can do whatever they want because they're a private company" over and over, then you subtly promote a right-wing libertarian worldview in which a company's moral obligations extend no farther than its current legal obligations. No self-described progressive or leftist should embrace language that promotes such a worldview.
Should a news program be legally required to platform anyone who asks? No, if only because that would be logistically impossible. But we should be really fucking alarmed by the discourse-shaping power of big media corporations, and we should be focusing on *that* instead of spending our time mocking conservative "cancel culture" whiners.

I can't cite any specific examples off the top of my head, but that rebuttal was all over Twitter at one point, and I remember a lot of Kyle's audience using the rebuttal whenever Kyle argued that online platforms should respect free speech.

I few days ago to brighten my spirits about humans I watched Band of Brothers again.
