This makes me think about Mp3-players, Tamagochis, free AOL CDs, poisonous green as a trendy colour, huge and heavy computer screens, Microsoft Encarta, Furby, and electronics coated with flithy and sticky rubber which became a gooey mess in the last years.
I still have those huge heavy computer screens on my retro setups. This sounds great playing through the matching beige Cambridge Soundworls speakers. On Winamp. Running on Windows 98 😎
To me nothing is more futuristic than things like this But i think the most frustrated i am is that 2022 isn't like nokia's commercials from the late 2000s Because nokia's last phones before the modern smartphone era were the most futuristic i have ever seen phones get Touchscreens are cool but kinda boring by themselves I miss remote controls with a hundred buttons and phones with cool layouts, i miss that 2000s aesthetic
@@experimentalwhateverchanne2312 I miss Syd Mead and Sorayama's futures. All we got was mind-controlling social media full of garbage, religous fanatics, alt-right and people being used as cannon fodder.
I remember when Kraftwerk played in the early 1970’s pre Autobahn a concert at my German cousins grammar / gymnasium school in Grossburgwedel nr Hannover
I play mostly Electronica at work everyday because of just that, only recently have I started playing this almost daily. It truly does help with the focusing, especially when working in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.
There's something about this song, maybe the pioneer 90s-ish feeling that makes me feel so good, is like a compensation for nostalgia... if that means something to you. I love the fact i can go back to really happy times in my life (usually when i was a lot younger, not that i'm not happy now though) this is great. Was just casually and accidentaly listening to music while arranging /fixing a word job for university and while listening to this it felt so good, i was focused on my mechanical body functions, everything went smoothly.
I was looking for this masterpiece with just these words as a hint "Man, Nature, Technology" and then I have found a history of electronic music and its pionners the kraftwerk. respect
I was born in 1961. I thought exactly the same thing in 1976 when I first heard "Autobahn." Minutes later, we were on the Autobahn, and that old Mercedes was seriously gulping air. :) Yeah, these guys really are timeless.
When I was a little boy, electronic music didn't impress me. But Kraftwerk with Expo 2000 .... I started listening. I started to like Drum and bass. I wondered .. where do the sounds come from. And I went back in time with Kraftwerk
Planet of Vision was 2hrs wait outside just to discover that you have to wait in line for another 2 hrs inside... a wast of time if you only went once to the see the Expo 2000, but at least they played Kraftwerk inside haha
"David from Santa Ana let's see it!" And see it we did. Still to this day that was the most awesome performance I have ever seen completely blowing the competition clean off the map
the last version (2001 mix) and the radio edit are my favorites. i love the pulse with the beats stripped away, and you can really hear how rich those synths and how strong the melodies are, including some of the coolest and deepest voice processing i've heard. all versions are great though.
When I first heard this song in the year of 2000 it sounded very futuristic and it still does, but the 21 century is not as exciting as I thought it would be.
Expo 2000 (Kling Klang Mix 2002) is my favourite version being a bit more dance floor oriented. Ralf & Florian sure knew how to make a great piece of music! (Think they retitled this 'Planet of visions' for their live shows)
Epic!! Go to Rochester, and while listening to this look at the Genesee Valley Trust building, contemplating "Wings of Progress", for a truly transcendental experience. You'll want to go build something. Expo 2000.....the sound of genius.
I was only 5 when this came out. Brings back a nostalgia feeling. Reminds me of smackdown 2 on ps1. Reminds me of that bowling game when your in space on n64. Reminds of me skaters wearing baggy clothes. Times change.

Nostalgia hits warmly, good times

Perfectly said. Bullseye. Also those hard cover encyclopediae named “Future” with cloned sheep, DNA, flying cars, and Times Square all over them

Kraftwerk - the sound of technological civilization with a human soul.

Still Timeless in the Year 2021. I was listening to get in the mood from the next World Expo Dubai 2021

When I'm 35, and inevitably an astronaut, I promise to play this.
+squiddie96 please do
Hope that when in space.
giving it no choice, i like that !! i wish u the best of luck to get to space ^^
Please do it!!
“When I’m 35” thirty five years ago as I play it now.
When I heard this first back in 2000 it was a stunning unreal sound.
This gets me nostalgic for the Summer of 1999/2000.
Boy, this was relaxing. I feel like my head is cleared.

they are not so electronic music but visionaries artists
They are electronic sound architects

Ohrwürmer, hilfe! Edit: Ich glaube, der Kling-Klang Mix 2001 wurde sogar auf der Expo damals gespielt... fand ich sehr chillig
When I first heard this song in the year of 2000 it sounded very futuristic and it still does, but the 21 century is not as exciting as I thought it would be.
Well, you still have a few years in this 21st century to locate some excitement
indeed

Rest In Peace to one of the Kraftwerk members Florian Scheider, who died at age 73. Did he die because of COVID-19? Any source from the German media?
No.. he died from cancer.
Kollaboration 2001 anyone?
The last output I like from them.
Synthwave before synthwave

the birth of techno/trance/dance imo :D
true!
+UK ARCADES This was released in 1999. Hardly the birth of genre(s) of music that existed for decades prior.
False
Idiot. This was released in the 2000s. Dance/techno was around a lot longer than that. Idiot.
