I first listened to Kraftwerk when i was 10, i fell in love with telephone call and radioactivity, about 2 years later i started to listen to their all songs it ended me knowing entire discography... Now i moved to other synthpop bands but Kraftwerk always will be around them.
I know a lot of fans and especially critics did not like this album but this song (especially this remix) is absolutely epic Kraftwerk 🇩🇪 This was the very first song and mix that I heard when I first walked into Starck Club in Dallas in 1987.
NYC loved it in the early 80s.Trans europe express was the #1.Computer love 3rd.My friends...brother had and its still in mint condition.Rip Brother N.🙏We love u...miss u.I hear this...picture him mixing by his new stereo system .Onyko. Denon..JBL..Bose tweeters. He built alot of his speakers. So brilliant...amazing ❤❤❤❤❤😭😪😘
I think Francois Kevorkian was like the hidden fifth member on these later releases by the original 4. He really took Kraftwerk's stuff into the stratosphere and this is a perfect example of that.
Karl Bartos as lead vocal on The Telephone Call song is perfect. I don't mean to say Ralf's voice is bad but Karl's voice is kinda 'softer' and match with this song
I was given my first Kraftwerk LP in '75 - Radioactivity. By college, I had an infatuation with Germany, which caused me to learn German and then spend a summer there in a college work-exchange program. Excepting Can, there was nothing like Kraftwerk in the early 1970s and everyone that came after them owe them a debt of gratitude. That first Radioactivity LP literally changed my life.
6:17 “We’re sorry, your international call could not be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again.” “Dial again, dial again, dial again” This is my favorite part of the song/remix. Francois K is a bloody genius!
Came out in1986 in Cebu, PH, when digitally-crisp sound was making headway through a local fm radio legally from CDs bought via mail order. thanks for uploading this!
Or perhaps you are German, and that is your native language. No disrespect. I first heard "Trans Europe Express" in 1984 in English. Bought the album from an older brother of a friend of mine. At the time I couldn't believe he actually sold it to me. Bought the album again when I was stationed in Germany, and yes it is the German version, and yes it is just as dope!
Wow! I wish it was my first time again. I've been listening for almost 40 years and it still rocks. There's a lot more KRAFTWERK to experience. Happy exploring.🦄
In the description, the first song is labeled a remix, but if I’m not mistaken, the first song is the long official album version of the telephone call, different from the single version, which is much shorter and has been the official version of the song (probably after remastering) since the release of the box set The Catalogue Edit: actually, having now heard the original album version, I see this is the 12 inch single remixed version in the video. I was just confused by the lengths of the two versions being very similar
I wish it was this longer version of Telephone Call that got remastered/had a remastered release, they only did the 3 minute version when they remastered and re-released everything for their 2009 box set. Though, it may be a case of not having that full version in archive, as well as having to pay for any extra costs for Karl's vocal contribution in that mix.
Call all you want, but there's no one home And you're not gonna reach my telephone Out in the club, and I'm sippin' that bub And you're not gonna reach my telephone yeeeeea!
Kraftwerk never gets old.
100% agreed
My daughter is extremely obsessed with Kraftwerk!! Is 13 years old now and has been listening to kraftwerk since she was 1 and a half.

My kid is 1. Trying to get him into Kraftwerk.

The bass on this version is amazing.

+James Lechner agreed! they even used his remix for the video version ....
Conny Plank too..?
I rather think that Schult is the 5th member. Kevorkian didn't participate in the actual writing of the songs, while Emil did.
As he was for Depeche Mode too
Fabulously Good from beginning to end. This is the reason why Kraftwerk are the Forefathers of Synth-Pop and way ahead of everyone else.

I've been a Kraftwerk fan since 1979, and I can tell you, Ralf's voice is not great.
what??? That is his voice! that's so cool!

I still prefering the German version by far. It has something special that the english version doesn't have
It does. I agree. Could be it was written in German, and this is sort of a translation.
Or perhaps you are German, and that is your native language. No disrespect. I first heard "Trans Europe Express" in 1984 in English. Bought the album from an older brother of a friend of mine. Yeah they’re very similar but not the same. I WISH the album version had this bass, though!

In fact, this famous phone was a model 500 and announced a happy event... a meeting in an elevator if my memories are accurate.
I don't know why four German engineers decided make music and study classical music. But they are king of techo music.
Superb !!
With Karl Bartos and Wolfgang Flur, Kraftwerk lost its soul. After they're gone, Hütter was not able to create a good album anymore ...
