- Hi all, Wolf Lord Rho here,
Today we are looking at the events from The Last Council... After his humbling at the hands of Malcador, Horus has been investigating the Sigillites' past...
A big thank you to all my subscribers. I truly appreciate all the support from you all! If your new, please consider subscribing to help build the channel and join the community.
And if you enjoy this video in particular, then consider dropping a like on it too!
All art belongs to the artists, I do not own any of the art in this video.
Dude you Chanel is blowing up faster than Cadia did
It took cadia a few thousand year.
It only took him a few months
Are you sure cadia blew up?
Wanna take another look, just to be sure? Just walk down this dark alley for me.
No no no no this bolt pistol is in case we get in trouble, nothing else.
Cadia broke before the Guard!
Oooooof
HA!
The lore of 40k used to be considered fluff. Now the wargaming seems like the fluff. The novels are brilliant!
i love the series
It’s safe to say most new fans (including myself) were interested due to the lore.
Yea I don’t give a shit about the board game but I love pretty much everything about the lore.
I think the title is supposed to read 'MALCADOR THE HERO'
Might the mistake in the title be a slight sign of heresy, i question?
Henceforth, and always......
The ultimate bro. My man Malcador!
I love your lore videos sooooo much, I get guse bumps, you tell it in so much pashion, and I love it and love your work,.... Sorry my Englisch is not so good, I'm from Germany
My fav quote about Malcador: "He stood on par with the post humans, but he was just a man" Which is why in my eyes he was way more deserving on the title of Emperor than the thing that claimed the title.
Malcador the man that made 3 primarchs quiver in there metal Indies lmao
He has many names, malcador the sigalite, malcador the hero, but few know of good old uncle malcador.
you know what, you do some alright lore. Subbed
GW should just send him the entire black libary collection, he is excellent.
Even if Malcador was a Perpetual, his body being reduced to dust and soul being willingly absorbed by the Emperor would prevent him from returning
Malcador is one of my favorite characters in GW. I have worked some people of high positions that you wouldn't expect nobility from, like the unexpected nobility from the Sigilite.
Khan talking like a real Yoda here and even impressing Malcador with his wisdom.
The good thing about the whole story of WH 40K universe is that it's easy to retcon. All they have to do is say, "The records are incorrect."
A perpetual can regenerate from anything; if they're body is destroyed they simply reappear somewhere else.
In reality they're just Fabius Bile clones
The dont re-appear somewhere else. They come back at the location where they died.... apart from the only single time that the emperor brought Vulcan back on nocturne....
Not from the Golden Throne draining them dry.
@@mt975 Nah he reappeared in a Galaxy Far Far Away as a little green guy
@@pichofiraviyah8492+
Don't you dare disgrace the likes of Malcador and Olannius Pile by even insinuating such a thing. Just mentioning them in the same sentence is bad enough. Go wash your mouth out right now!!
dude i subbed to you when you where still 500, the quality of your content truly deserve more amount of subscribers, 10/10 as always
Another great video. I hope that Malcador gets his own book. I hope you can do a video on the pact that the Emperor made with the chaos gods.
The Emperor protects.
I love your channel. It's the best thing I've found on so long. Thanks wolf Lord.
Awesome work as always. Looking forward to the next video.
Can’t get enough of your videos. I’ve binge watched you’re content for 3 days straight now lol
Yes! Malcador is my favorite character of all- thank you for this. Subscribed right away! Nice work, mate-
I always thought of Malcador as Danny DeVito to the Emperor as Arnold... meaning that he’s a part of the Emperor, maybe even the leftover from the Shamans who sacrificed themselves to create the Emperor also ended up creating Malcador
I discovered this channel last week and quickly became one of my favourite 40k channels. Your voice is really smooth, the fragment you choose are always interesting and the moments you stop and talk about the characters or their motivations help understanding it better. 10/10 love this channel
Watched alot of your vids recently, and they are great, but this one got me subbed. MORE LORE! I WANT MORE LORE!
Awesome vids man! Deffo my fav lore channel at the moment 😎
Just wanted to say thanks. You have a gift for narration. Keep up the excellent job brother. "The emperor protects."
Wolf Lord Rho, excellent work with the lore brother. May I say I'm a huge fan of the faint background music you've chosen, its subtle yet captures the Grimdark perfectly. Great work again, you've earned yourself a sub and I'm sure thousands more in due time.
The Emperor Protects.
I shall finally enjoy the pleasure of subbing to this channel. Well played my bruvah, well played.
Brilliant bid as always looking forward for the next one
Keep up the good work I love the lore when you explain it!😁
Found your channel literally yesterday, been going through them all since, safe to say you have another sub! (gotta admit I prefer the longer vids) fantastic video good sir!
Daaaaamn, just found your channel, good shit man.
This was awesome! This channel rocks!
I think Malcador was more than a mere warloard during old night assuming he really was a perpetual ....... The sigelites may even have a connection to the begging of old night it self from a geo political and or religious standpoint as well. Perhaps they saw the coming of old night and prepared accordingly to try and preserve as much of humanity as they could.
@Wolf Lord Rho, I've now watched a few of your videos and I must say it's quite enjoyable to listen to you explain all of this in a calming soothing voice :)
You got my sub sir.
Also, I do not believe Malcador may return, same as Sanguinius if something were to happen it would cheapen their sacrifice.
I always had an odd pet theory.
I always sort of imagined that Malcador was actually the Emperor...the original Emperor. Who then used his sorcery, and techno-wizardry to clone himself basically a 'primarch' body, which was the body that the emperor we know has, just at the dawn of the Unification Wars, which is why we never saw him before then. It would explain why the Emperor trusts Malcador implicitly, and Malcador has such great psychic power.
@Blake Pinette well it is implied that the reason the sisters of silence weren't allowed to speak because they could see what the emperor looked like without physic clocking
@@brycemcewen6146 I seem to remember in a bit of fluff around one of the primarchs first meeting the emperor that the primarch for a few moments sees through the psychic bedazzling. He sees the emperor's true form as a man without any remarkable features.
@@user-sd1ry6jw3u exactly as well it is implied that the reason the sisters of silence are forced not to speak is that they can see what the emperor truly looked like
@@user-sd1ry6jw3u that would have been Corax i recall.
William Ings you are correct.
Long time fan of WH40k, especially the lore. I don't have the time to read or listen to all the books, which is why I appreciate these videos! Keep up the excellent work!
Man, I never realized these books were so good! With each of your videos watched, I want to go and read every single 40k book that's available out there more and more.
Love your reading of these stories! Could never afford to play the games in the past, but I find the lore and story telling fascinating.
Excellent video mate 👌
Love the vids btw keep it up!
great work my friend :)
All 3 of the primarchs hit me hard. Sanguinius in particular. Also this made me like even more so then i already had.
Emperor and Malcador will Return to believe Otherwise is Ignorance 😎 !!, Good work as always, Please keep them coming 😀 ty !!!.
Hey man, love the chANnel
I believe Malcador was as much relevant to the creation of the Imperium as the Emperor himself. Maybe even more so; for he was more accessible as elucidated.
I believe he was the last shaman, as the legend says the shaman committed mass suicide to birth the big E, but I believe a single one was selected to stay, to help mold and grow the big E, and that was malcador. it explains why the big E seems to have grown in psychic power after being placed on the golden throne, as it was after malcadors death, and his power, would have been finally added to the big E, completing the eons long process started by the shaman thousands of years ago. It also puts more weight on the side of this being the big E's plan all along.
@@specter86fl
Other than the fact malcador isn't that old.
@@the_dropbear4392 does he have to be? would it not also work if malcador was a descendant of that last shamen?
@@Phenixtri
Other than all of them commited suicide.
And malcador is only 6300 years old, and the empeor is 38,000+
The_Drop Bear and pious is far older
Now this is a channel that excites my machine spirit
Just got into warhammer 40k I got into it because I like painting the models but the lore is absolutely amazing! Keep it up
Every time I watch a video you gain 1000 subs. YEEESSS!!!!!!!!!!
Malcador the Techno-mage, if these techno-mages are anything like those in Babylon 5 their knowledge and power are nearly limitless.
Nice reference. I imagine there was probably at least a little bit of inspiration there considering Malcador's obvious bit of tech attached to his throat along with the fact he is, y'know, a ridiculously powerful psyker as well.
What a. Well written video. Super delicious yum yum
Sorry i didn't subscribe to you sooner. Good work man.
This and the last vid combined got me to sub. Great quality m8. Good background music choice. Excellent, but not outlandish dialogue
good job , I enjoy listening to this
Great book talons of horus...I did read it..thats why I hold out hope for bringing back the angel..great times in 40k
I went against your advice and listened to this before reading to novel. Love your work. I do love the "uncle" bit. I am curious about his relationship with the other primarchs now.
I'm lazy and don't want to read the lore, so the way you talk about the stories in the books and divulge into little insights and short stories is a godsend for me.
When it comes to 40k I had a good couple years of loving the tabletop starting in 2nd edition. Life got weird and I couldn't stay in one place long enough to have an army but the lore has had me ever since.
Good job ... one thing you gotta churn em out daily for awhile build build build ...... you got the voice the commentary... I enjoy hearing you read the lore so pls start going into overdrive I'm telling you the channel will build very fast even faster
maybe Malcador and the Emperor once fought during either the age of strife for the unification wars. Maybe Malcador helped create the thunder legions.
Malcador started working with the empeor during the DAoT
DAOT?
@@Gregory-the-small Dark age of technology (although it's actually a golden age) it's before the age of strife when humanity was at its strongest and most advanced. All the tech the impeirum has now is just DAoT throw aways
Could be that Malcador is older than the Emperor. A returning shaman or psyker which sacrificed himself so that all psyker potential was concentrated in one being to escape consumption by war entities.
Although I believe retconned, the old chaos books detailed it as such. Also, that there are many actual sons, offspring of the Emperor scattered through out the Imperium. I believe they were called Ronin. Perhaps all perpetuals like Malcador are actually blood sons of the Emperor.
@@Mantyszyger
We know malcador is much younger than the empeor, he is 6300.
The empeor is 38,000+.
Also he can't be one of the Sharmans returning as they all died
I wonder how hard this meeting was for Malcador knowing he would never see Sanguineous again.
I just watched your dark angel primaris video. The cold logic and terran empathy line comes to mind with how the lord regent acts.
I really love your content and hope you get more subscribers, from what I have seen you have been getting subs very fast, I think the Primarch videos do the trick.
But I would like advice on how to make a friend fall in love with 40k. He loves fantasy, but he only sees pointless war in 40k and I don’t know how to make him look past that, you see the humanity in this fucked up galaxy.
800 views in an hour. u r the man
Awesome lore.
Wow you really like that children of the omnissiah song. It's a good one. I have the 40k mechanicus soundtrack too.
Awsome
Dude, i support you on this scenes between the emperor and his family. Its really human and it these moments shows how all of this war is just a big broken family. An all powerfull Godly family with all the resources and armys.
There was a book about custodes and a plot was that Sigillite's bloodline still exists and that antagonist had the same appearance as a Malcador.
Wolf lord Rho I love the way you present your theories. I really enjoy the stories that have to do with Malcador , I’ve wanted to know what you know about Conrad Curze? Did he ever have any communication with Malcador. Also have you read the story where Malcador spoke to Dorn about what he feared and his encounter with Curze?. I would love to hear you cover a video about Cora’s Curze and the Night Lords. I wonder what use could Belisarius do with Nightlords gene seed? .
I like Malcador being the last shaman that unlike the rest, remain human(and artificially turned perpetual by Emperor himself)
Never heard this theory but the more i thibk abou it, the more I see it as low key actually one of the best I've heard. Perhaps becoming a "monster" so to speak due to necessity in order to get humanity ready for what was unavoidably coming and collecting everything he could to aid the Emperor when the time was right. Moreover, it would also explain why he's so physically old despite being a perpetual who all, as far as I'm aware, stopped aging around their prime.
So glad to see some doing 40k lore videos who's man enough to address the emotional dimension between characters from a realistic and earnest perspective as opposed to someone just trying to seem snarky and edgy and coming off quite the opposite because of how much they try-hard.
Your aduio quality was really good this time. Not thats it bad but it tends to be low at times compared to other channels. However i will say the quality of what you say is top knotch.
Also read the last church..short story very informative
100% would have a pint with the Wolf Lord. Keep up the good work and praise the Emperor!
Malcador is ever the badass.
Can you do more Malcador? I love all his stuff.
Tbf in the last month I've watched hundreds of yours and one mind syndicates videos on the lore
My favourite bits so far aside the primachs is the humanity gods still suffer with despite feeling so above
I lit up the like button like monarchia 🔥🔥🔥
I'm really enjoying your Malcador works. He's probably my favorite 40k character of all time. When Malcador humbled Horus, did they keep that between the four of them?
I would love to see some lore suggesting that Malcador and the Wizard Merlin are one and the same.
This would be so cool. Just as a random side note or offhand comment in a conversation that gives us just enough information to make it obvious what they are saying to us as readers but not enough to make much sense to most of the people in universe.
Damn, this is profound stuff.
lol bob ross of 40k! love your stuff!
Malcador is the last shaman, selected to stay behind during their mass suicide in order to help nurture and grow the big E from a child and into a man, and then to help him cease control of humanity for the course correct. It is why he is so powerful, and why when he finally dies, and the big E is placed on the golden throne in his place, the big E seems to gain psychic power over time, as he has finally absorbed the final shaman, completing the eons long ritual.
He's not old enough for that. He's only 6300 years old, not 38,000+
In 'Sigilite' he's shaky about his own fate too.
Malcador, the first copy of the Emperor’s spirit, precursor to the Primarchs.
Judge Dredd, first utilisation of the Astartes psychoconditioning.
He's not
If Malcador is a perpetual, it only adds to my belief about the golden throne. So I believe the throne consumes the souls of anyone, not just those sacrificed, that dies on or near it. Since Malcador died on it, I think the throne consumed him.
That's why i think they cant kill the emperor and have him just come back. I think the throne will just consume him as I am sure it already has.
I've seen this theory before and I'm interested to know where it comes from. I was under the impression that the Throne merely amplifies and expands the user's power by basically hardwiring them directly into the raw energy of the warp itself - which in turn they need to be tough enough physically to deal with or it will fry them. After all, the souls of all those dead psykers are sacrificed to keep the Emperor's psykic self (soul) empowered and prevent it from splitting apart under the strain of what he's had to do for the last 10,000 years. I don't know where the idea of it feeding the Throne itself comes from.
.
The Throne is also a life support system too don't forget and it is actively keeping the Emperor's body alive while the psyker sacrifices provide the power to keep his soul together. That's why people are so terrified of the Golden Throne failing - because rhen the Emperor's body would die and his would might well be lost (at least that's the fear). It seems awfully counter productive to me for a life support system to keep your body alive but also drain your soul.
Malcador was the first psychic sacrificed to maintain the living death of the Emperor, he was consumed body and soul like the trillions after him, his power was just more sustaining then millions of others because of his unique/engineered nature.
We support them and they push fans in the United States and Australia away with huge price rises. Now this subject is out of the way the short story's cover many angels of whats happening id like to be a fly on the wall at GW and the writer's of the books and how they steer the warmth and treachery. My own wish as a guy who lost the muscles💪👉 I wish they had more CD's of such books. Excellent video buddy. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 did the high lord give the rooms because the wanted to protect them or is the truth of the matter the high lords have moved to the deaths of bunkers hurried it solid rock of the Himalaya?
Lt James Cooper Mason
Tough.
Your voice so suits the lore
7:27 i love how this Sanguinius sees the best and tries to put that in the forefront
The truth is that most of humanity's greatest visionaries did terrible and horrific things in the pursuit of progress and building something greater than anything that had come before. Such people have shaped this world as much as those who only sought peace for humankind even if so many wish that wasn't the case but we are humans and until the end of time our struggle will be that of pain and agony as our dualistic natures sow havoc and destruction as well as bring about peace and prosperity. The never ending tug and pull
We see how close Malcador was with the Primarchs. Especially Dorn and Sanguinius here. So I wonder if Malcador felt Sanguinius die and if it might have blurred his own focus long enough for his own death.
The Angel, The Praetorian and The War Hawk. Powerful Trio for sure.
Hey Wolf, what 40k group of novels are you reading this from? Are there more that cover the period as you describe from the novel the last council? I’m particularly interested in this part of the 40k lore but know there are swaths and swaths of novels/books. I don’t know where I would begin but I do want to read stories around the 30k era when the primarchs and emperor were still in the flesh.
This Malcador. I like this Malcador. A man who realizes man is more defined by the peoples than it is by the Monastic and nigh Celibate Traditions of Immortal Warriors and Kings. Gives me ideas for different homebrew Chapters, Regiments, and maybe other Humans.
Malcador is an interesting character, I mean he quite mysterious in a way.
You mean in all of them
You know, the first few times i listened to this, i didn't realize that Malcador was getting ready to FIGHT with the Khan.
Food for thought;
Khadour is very similar to Khader. The latter being an Islamic name for a person who has great insight and wanders around helping people and granting them insight. I believe what they're getting at with the part about the Imperial Truth is that Malcador, the Emperors highest adviser, may have been a follower/scholar/leader of an Abrahamic religion. That could be bad if it were reveled to the general public, considering that Emps keeps saying that religion is bull.
What is that song in the background from?
Can someone please tell me where I can find this song it’s so peaceful
Your videos are so good
The man never lives up to the legend, living beings have flaws, they make errors, they fail, where as our memories do not. The Sanguine Angle must remain gone, for if he returned, it would shatter the legend, doing more harm then good.
I need more malcador lore.
What if he is there literal uncle, maybe the twin of the emperor. Could explain where vulkans traits come from, maybe its partly from being brought up on nocturne and part from his family line.
