I've really been doing good winter time fishing for them here on Lake Houston and Lake Conroe. I've been fishing with my mom dad and little brother since they first started taking us back in the early 70's. Still I've always learned even now from your videos and others. As we both know with crappie, they are always changing which is one of the best things about them. They are always challenging us to figure them out. Bluegill are great eating. I didn't know salt could cause a stroke. Wow! Monday before thanksgiving my husband had a stroke and was life flighted to Presby Hospital in Pittsburgh. That is the hospital that does a lot of liver and heart transplants. He had a blood clot on the left side of his brain. But prayers and meds they dissolved it. Before he came home on Wednesday. Amazing what they can do nowadays. Bless your sweet wife. Thanks for having her show how to cook some fish. Can she feel on that side now. My husband is fine. My husband has to have coleslaw with fish and pepsi.
Salt is definitely a bad thing, health wise, Donna, but sure makes food taste better! The less you can use, the better!! Yes, Chris does pretty much have all feeling back and I understand that is pretty common! I suspect that your man will completely recover as well, especially with all the prayers!! Roland Martins Brother has a really bad stroke a few years back, and was given almost no chance to live! Couldn’t walk or talk at all. He fully recovered! God is a great God and is still in the miracle business!! I’m praying for y’all. May. God Bless!! jimmy

To my cocktail sauce I use ketchup, horseradish, a big squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. The lemon juice and worchestershire adds just a little more flavor to the sauce. I like to squeeze the lemon on my fried fish too. So good. That's what I do here in KY and have for at least the 40+ years that I have been cooking. Growing up dad and my brother fished the ponds and lakes, went frog gigging and caught turtles. About once a month all summer we would have a big catch clean and cook and several of the neighbors would join us. Mom always made a big pan of mac and cheese, a bowl of slaw, a pan of baked beans. Dad would fry everything up after breading it in cornmeal and or flour. He would also fry up a big bag of French fries and he would make hush puppies with diced onion in them. We fixed the cocktail sauce, ate of course ketchup and we would mix a quart of mayonnaise with a small jar of dill relish. Momma made him fry everything up outside on the picnic table using 2 deep fryers so that it did not stink up the house. Dad has been gone since 1991 but I still remember those good old fish frys.
That is a wonderful story, Donna and the entire catch, clean and cook video was worth it just to hear you tell it. And to know we helped a bit bringing up that memory. That’s is exactly what family and fishing is all about! Making memories that last throughout generations! Keep on cooking and teaching the kids how, and about the traditions!! The first crappie video I watched of you, you and your wife were fishing at a spillway. I’m 40 now and that had to be close to 30 years ago. I believe y’all were staying somewhere that you weren’t able to keep them. Y’all were fishing with Roadrunners then too. Brought back memories 👍

Yes, Chris does pretty much have all feeling back and I understand that is pretty common! I suspect that your man will completely recover as well, especially with all the prayers!!
Roland Martins Brother has a really bad stroke a few years back, and was given almost no chance to live! Couldn’t walk or talk at all. He fully recovered! God is a great God and is still in the miracle business!! I’m praying for y’all. May. God Bless!! jimmy

To my cocktail sauce I use ketchup, horseradish, a big squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. The lemon juice and worchestershire adds just a little more flavor to the sauce. I like to squeeze the lemon on my fried fish too. So good. That's what I do here in KY and have for at least the 40+ years that I have been cooking. Growing up dad and my brother fished the ponds and lakes, went frog gigging and caught turtles. About once a month all summer we would have a big catch clean and cook and several of the neighbors would join us. Mom always made a big pan of mac and cheese, a bowl of slaw, a pan of baked beans. Dad would fry everything up after breading it in cornmeal and or flour. He would also fry up a big bag of French fries and he would make hush puppies with diced onion in them. We fixed the cocktail sauce, ate of course ketchup and we would mix a quart of mayonnaise with a small jar of dill relish. Momma made him fry everything up outside on the picnic table using 2 deep fryers so that it did not stink up the house. Dad has been gone since 1991 but I still remember those good old fish frys.
That is a wonderful story, Donna and the entire catch, clean and cook video was worth it just to hear you tell it. And to know we helped a bit bringing up that memory. That’s is exactly what family and fishing is all about! Making memories that last throughout generations! Keep on cooking and teaching the kids how, and about the traditions!! The first crappie video I watched of you, you and your wife were fishing at a spillway. I’m 40 now and that had to be close to 30 years ago. I believe y’all were staying somewhere that you weren’t able to keep them. Y’all were fishing with Roadrunners then too. Brought back memories 👍
