From The Kitchen Counter is excited to have the very talented Alan Little ( / alanlittlemusic ) join us for this great Bob Seger song. Alan excellently plays guitar and harmonica on this number and Frank Smith is there with solid vocals as usual. Alan leads a local band called "Little And The Giants," as well as and plays several solo gigs each week as well. Alan is playing my sweet 1994 Gibson Hummingbird as well as a Lee Oskar (Em Natural) harmonica. I am playing my 1997 Bourgeois Country Boy (Ricky Skaggs Signature Model).
This song was written by Bob Seger in a hotel room in Wisconsin after a late night run in the band had with some truckers at a truck stop while traveling between shows. The truckers made fun of the band for their long hair by asking if they were women or men. Seger captured that sentiment as well as the monotony of living out of hotels, suit cases and restaurants. This has always been one of my favorite songs and I hope you enjoy our version of this classic Seger song.
