    Thank you Dr. Stevenson for this great video. I carefully studied it, and several other of your videos, and I am happy to report I just passed the ADEX examination (10/2023) Dr. George Whitehead

    Great video as always, thank you! Would love to see how you make crown provisionals (using Jet or Provisa)

    Dr. Stevenson, thank you for the video. How come the internal axial wall of the proximal box is concave, not convex? Shouldn't we be concerned about the pulp proximity?

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  4 месяца назад

      The axial depth is still ideal, it's just that the axioproximal line angles are rounded...the idea being that the prep is caries-driven with composite. The pulp is 3-4 mm inside the box. The axial depth would be the same for any preparation, namely about 0.5 mm into dentin.
      Thank you!

    Dr. Stevenson, when you're making a bridge prep, the principle of the prep you make is pretty much the same as for a single tooth crown prep?

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  3 года назад

      With the addition of line of draw, yes. The preps must be sacrificed slightly to accommodate the line of draw and knowing which prep may be altered and which walls and to what degree is the key.

    Dr. Stevenson, you didn't prep the distal pit in this video. Is the distal pit supposed to be included in the minimum Class II MO prep for maxillary molars (for exam purposes)?

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  Год назад

      On the WREB the distal pit will be a required carious lesion to remove... You may either connect it to the MO by crossing the oblique ridge, or keeping it separate.

    Thanks for the video Dr! Just wondering, how do you prevent the tooth from burning when you're using the high speed without water?

    Hi Dr. Stevenson, I had a quick question about protecting the adjacent teeth. When I am practicing with the ModuPRO Typodont and the RTX #9 and #14 Caries Acadental teeth, nothing seems to fit interproximally as a guard on these typodonts. I know you sell a NODAT Damage Prevention Kit on your website, and I was wondering if the guards in this kit actually fit interproximally. If they don't, do you have any suggestions as to what you would use that could fit in between these tight typodont teeth? Thank you so much!!

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  2 года назад

      You can make them fit easily with a little separation with a small spoon between the teeth. They will all work well with this technique. Thank you!

    Great video doc …..I have a question what’s the position to work for molars especially the box area ( buccal and lingual )

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  2 года назад

      For maxillary teeth, I like 11-12 o'clock with the mirror.

      @@allantheodor6470 Cut most of it from 7 O'clock and then finish the box with direct vision from 9-12. It takes time but keep trying different chair positions, with and without the mirror.

    Hey! I’m wondering why are you extending your preparation so much? Don’t we as a dentists need to stick to minimal invasive preparation? Just to remove caries only, not healthy dentine...

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  3 года назад

      Yes, I am showing both prep designs: amalgam and composite - and the WREB allows for a traditional design or a slot prep for composite as well. The slot prep will require conventional retention form as well, vis-a-vis convergent walls. Bonding alone is not enough when most (more than 50%) of the prep bondable surfaces are dentin.

    Hi Dr.Stevenson,
    What is the principle of the box cavity? What do you think about this cavity? I have a practical exam and they ask to us this cavity

    • @StevensonDentalSolutions
      @StevensonDentalSolutions  3 года назад +1

      Box preps are very nice and conservative when no fissures are present on the occlusal. To make them last longer, make sure that the walls are flared to expose much enamel, and also the gingival is in enamel. Also, adding convergence or even retention grooves to the prep will help with macromechanical retention.

    Dr Stevenson could u please let me know if you have any course for wreb exam preparation before March ?

  • @tayoadewuyi7729

    Thank for the videos Dr. Stevenson. With the wreb exam class 2 composite preparation, can l just stop on the box prep alone if there's no occlusal caries extension?

  • @1108steeveee
    @1108steeveee 3 года назад

    In this case for the WREB exam, if you were to request extension because of the carries would you ask for a 1mm extension of the axial wall depth?
