    Watching your videos got me very interested in the diesel engines . I went and got a bunch of them .

      @valic000  4 года назад

      You will love them! as you can fine tune them much better as a glow engine...you will need some practice in the begin, till you have the feel of how much compression you must set,..and the sound it makes when it runs.. but practice make a master! Have a great new "" Diesel year!" Jeremy ...Good luck and fun with them. I recommend as the first one a PAW....you find them on ebay or new in the UK at progress aeroworks.Co.UK.
      Best regards, Peter

      Great runners,well made and good power output.They come many times on ebay for a decent price.A good workhorse to use in a model.

    You have great machining skill! I wish I had a lathe. But it is great fun working on engines. Thank you for the lesson!

    Thanks for the video.. I have ordered a MK 12 V 2.46cc engine. Would you recommend a prop size and a break in procedure. Also what diameter is the prop shaft? Thanks again.

    Looking forward to it Peter. Great to have the skills of a machinist. Hopefully soon I will find a lathe of my own. I am currently shopping around now for a used one now.

    Excuse me.
    Engine СSTKAM 2.5 D designed and began series production in 1975.
    I put on a model F2d engines from the first batch in 1975. Channels in the cylinder were several others.

    Many thanks for reaction.I am very interrested in russian engines.I finaly won on ebay 2 older russian books about model engines...and finaly,i get moore info.There were much moore versions,than I know.And like you say,correct,this is a 1975 model. The later has a rearcover with 4 srewes.There was even a 3,2 diesel.I hope you like my channel...still moore engine rebuilds and runs too come.
    The Uctkam factory is wel known .This Uctkam was a very good sports engine.Light & powerful.

    Thanks Marcin!I hope to try a smal prop,but the thread in the spinner is not perfect.I love to see him run at high rpm..

    @valic000  12 лет назад

    Thanks David!Cant wait to dress the engine up with a suitabel prop..I put now also some techn. data about the engine in the text some where,as I get it later.I hope to beat the numbers,as the ligther piston,changed exhaust timing and a bigger ventury shoud be make differents.

    Wegen der drehzahl:Ja nur eine drezahl ist moegelich.Aber umbauen af RC vergaser mit drezahlregelung ist sehr einfach.Nur beim diesel immer ein maas kleiner von gluezuendern nehmen. Ein 2,5 diesel lauft gut mit einem 1,5cc nitrovergaser! (z.b. OS Max oder ein Enja vergaser)

    Good luck with the hunt!! I wil buy one if I was you with thread cutting device...Sometimes are the older.what is not abused better than the new chinees stuff. But I am sure you wil find somthing. I akso look fo a bigger one. The Emco Unimaat is a watchmaker laith.Very precise.but only for smal stuff.Maeby the Emco 5 wil be nice.Its good quality.

    Which is epoxy you have use for this midification?

    • @valic000
      @valic000  8 лет назад

      +Maximo Its a while ago,but I think regular epoxy, two components.Loctite have a very strong metal epoxy,so caled liquid metal,what shoud last a long time. I dont use the engine for flying,it was only a rebuild story for a old engine,what was abused :-)

    Dear Valic, I am deeply inspired by your engineering capacity. When I retire next year, I hope to learn a few things about machining. I am in Malaysia. The Dutch were in that region for over 400 years and I think that at least from an aesthetic point of view, they left some very fine buildings and institutions. First question, what work do you do? Are you a professional machinist? 2) What advice do you have for people who at an older age wish to learn machining and repair old engines? 3) you had some pistons put into a furnace, to "grow them". Is this a way of increasing their diameter so that they can be reused when the compression has been lost before firing them up. How long do you put them in the oven, and at what temperature?

    • @valic000
      @valic000  8 лет назад

      Thank you a lot for the kind words.Its indeed a lovely hobby,and I wish ,I was already retired,so I can do all the things I like to do,but just cant,as I have no time.
      I have no engineer background but I am a simpel carmechanic.But I do love al things whats technical,so the interrest is very important.
      My grandfather was a man,with two gold hand,who really could fix just everything,so I guess,I have some of his genes.
      I had already at 13 or so a small watchmakers lathe and try to make things,what inspired me a lot,to just know more about metals,soldering..and whats all come with it.
      When I learn for car mechanic,I had just basic school,and also some use of a lathe and milling machine,but most things was just made by hands,like use a file.
      When I was a kid with 12 to 14,I start modeling airplanes,and was always very impressed with the littel engines..Of course they were sometimes demaged,and I try to repair them.
      But it need a lot time,expirience,and many set backs,till you slowly get some results.
      I would sugest,you buy some books about amateur machining..like work with a lathe and milling machine. The chinees machines are not the best,but for the price,they are ok for the begin.
      I can recomend you a very good website,where I got so much inspiration,that I try to do it my self.
      Its www.modelenginenews.org. This is for me the holy bibel o vintage model engines and the rebuilds. Its a lot material there,and I am sure,you will be very much in love with it like i was.
      Also Adrian Duncan have a lovely site...just check the internet...but one day,you have to start somewehere...make a new conrod for exampel...many times broken,worn out,or missing...its a good start for a rebuild..
      Old demaged engines more than enough on ebay!
      If you have any questions,please ask any time.
      Good luck and a lot plesure with the hobby!
      Peter
