Love this. One idea that would also be helpful is looking at how the meta shifts from week to week, rather than just challenge to challenge. I think showing the pie chart from last week compared to this week and seeing which decks had a higher or lower % share would be really valuable to watch the meta evolve

looking forward to the planeswalker video if you end up doing that. deck looks awesome with that card that lets you immediately ult. immediate ult on those ultimate is gonna let you endlessly go bigger than any single deck in the format i think so that's super cool. if you live long enough to ofc.

Great content, I love the breakdowns and insight. I would say keep at it! Possibly with a shift in focus between at least the 2 major non-rotating formats but even with Standard thrown in. I think data that trended over 2-3 weeks would show even more interesting insights potentially with patterns emerging. I do like the idea of really drilling down into the important format of the time (i.e. like you are here with a very important Pio tournament around the corner) but rotating formats during the RCQ seasons and the the major SCG event tournament schedule would be pretty valuable

  • @kerey6429

Been missing having this kind of content regularly. Would love to see it for Modern and Pioneer. Like the idea of rotating each format. Could stagger them to check in on each format every two weeks.

I think the phoenix deck ebbs and flows so often is because, despite the deck being very powerful and very popular, it is a somewhat difficult deck to pilot, especially compared to decks like atarka red

I liked this style of video! Keep up...
Just a comment on your Rakdos Prowess approach: I don't think the deck suffer to spot removal as you said... Claim // Fame changes everything. Phoenix is a great matchup, Rakdos Mid is beatable and Jund Sac also is pretty beatable. The deck only suffers to Angels... But all the rest the deck seems slightly favored. Is hard to pilot the deck on a pro level, but the deck pays off.
I really think Rakdos Prowess will be on of the most played decks on RCs.

I don’t know if I quite agree on the match up spread. I find phoenix, angels, and jund sac easier as prowess. UW control is very 50/50. The real issues you have a random combo agro decks. Quint, fires, bring to light. Basically anything that has disruption with a combo finish is brutal.

I actually think the jund sac is weak to the rakdos aggro deck, you just kinda run over them and they don't gain enough life to make it relevant. I know i've only lost a couple of games to jund sac as rakdos.

I love this episode but I think the video title needs work. If this wasn't you, I would never have clicked this.
    Perhaps "Ranking Pioneer Decks"
Or "What decks can beat Pioneer Phoenix" or "The Pioneer Metagame"
Maybe it's just me, but this title seems a little uninspired compared to yours/ others typical content.
The video itself was great. Keep on keepin' on.

It's not uncommon for both a 32 player challenge and 64 player challenge to be running at the same time. Some of the MTGO Grinders join both challenges concurrently to maximize their potential winnings. So I think d00m is getting at the fact that really linear decks, like RB Prowess, are easier to pilot in two matches at the same time and could be over represented because of it. Hope this helps!
