We are super excited to be joined by the one and only Lari Basilio, who is here to give you a run down of the Laney Cub Supertop.
The Laney Cub Supertop 15 is a boutique style, all tube, guitar head. It has such high end features as switchable wattage, 3 band EQ, individual gain and volume controls, FX loop and a fantastic Reverb taken from the new Laney Secret Path Reverb Pedal! This is one of Thebes small workhorse amps on the market right now, perfect fro small gigs, studio recording or just letting rip!
The Supertop 15 has 2 inputs with 2 different wattages available. You can run this amp full force at 15 watts or go into the 2nd input for some 1 watt action. 15 watts is great for small gigs while 1 watt invites you to literally turn everything up on the amp and get it cooking but at a reasonable volume.

I have this fantastic Amp since yesterday....Yes, it´s a very great warm, crunchy Sound. Huge tone, very nice.....best sounding in combination with my fender and suhr strat.
I think this will be my next amp. Really like what i hear and a very affordable price tag. Sounds beautiful!!!
The cub was already great back then... So underrated. If they did a 20 to 30 watt version i'd buy one for sure

What setup did she use for the outro song? She’s doing a high-gain lead tone, but the amp settings in the back are those for the pristine clean, with volume on full, gain at zero and boost off.

I have the combo. It is the Blues Junior killer. Kills it stone dead.

@@fsh3702 Depends on what you're looking for. They're entirely different-sounding. The Blues Junior is a very bright amp, where this amp is very dark-sounding. I think they're both good at what they do, you have to see what fits your style better. If you play a bright guitar, it's probably nice to go for a darker amp, and also the other way around applies. However, some people like combining dark and dark, as well as bright and bright, such a Fender guitar into a Fender amp.
Does it match a 16 ohm cab?
If it does, how loud would it be with a 1x12, 16 ohm,
97.3 sensitivity rated speaker cab? Loud enough to play with a rock band, various venues.

Yes, it matches 16 ohm cab for 1x12 cab, or also you can use 16 ohm cab for 2x12 in parallel wiring, because Laney feets 8 and 16 ohm cabs.
I tell you 15 w is pretty loud for small gigs.
where are getting that delay from ????
I really wish they made this head with 6V6 power tubes, like in the Cub 10, rather than EL84s. Much nicer breakup in my opinion
I don't know, I have an old Cub 8 and I don't enjoy the breakup in it as much as in the Cub Super series ones.
Is this head with 2x12 loud enough for a classic rock band with hard hitting drummer
I would think so, certainly when you play with higher gain settings, I am getting one too and hope there is enough clean headroom for playing with a drummer, I have been told it will be loud enough.
When mine has arrived and I will come back here and share my opinion with you :)

@@markg9254 It is definately loud enough for our purposes, took it to a small gig, played 21st century schizoid man with it and had volume not even half cranked
