Whiting On Lures

Another Weekend spent north avoiding our terrible winter we have had. I picked up my mate Ben from Geraldton on the way up for a quick weekend run. First call for the morning was to collect a few tailor for the nights baits then we went exploring. We stumbled across the whiting mother load with a feed kept and a lot more let go. So much fun watching packs of them chasing our little lures almost to our feet.

Kix is great value reel, a bit on the heavy side being metal body but makes for a good reliable reel that hasn’t had any problems for me. No movement yet with it.

Hey man what size kix and td hyper are you using? I’m gonna get a 1-3kg and a 2500D what do you think?

this is a 2000d kix on a TD Hyper 742ULFS 1-3kg model, perfect with 6lb braid and 6-10lb leaders for this sort of fishing without breaking the bank. The kix is a little heavy and personally i would go a Freams if your looking to make the combo lighter.

For the money they are great value rods. What one are you looking at getting or what sort of fishing?

@@DixonsFishing redfin and golden perch fishing also some bream aswell either the 1-2kg ul or 1.5-3kg light

@@gsfishing5384 I would go the 1.5-3 as the 1-2kg is very soft and slow. Great for plastics but as an all round rod the slightly heavier one will be better I think.

I didn't realise there is no legal size for whiting in WA no offense but when you kept saying thats a good whiting I thought fuck thats small for qld standard but must be normal over there
