What a shame that the basin was sealed off after that storm. Tried for some whiting many times after that storm but never got anything. Mangroves and everything are all dead. At least now it's not sealed off anymore so may give it a go again!

Hi Scotty, I have tried the Maianbar area a few times now with that same Jackson lure & Sugapens with not a single hit. I don’t know why the whiting at Maianbar don’t respond to top water lures? Would you know why?

I've found catching whiting on top you need a slight current (not dead flat) if that's any help. Or on a windy day even better
