Glad I could help. Hard mode will definitely improve the gun. When legendary mods come out, this might get shifted a bit to reflect those changes. These were the best numbers I could squeeze with my current gear.
@@Xelray One of the things I am liking about it when doing hard mode silo's, at least the one I have done so far, is that some of them have a buff to weak point damage and a nerf to other damage, with shrapnel, enough of the shrapnel will always ensure constant weakpoint bonus damage
Yes you can! However, I can't stand doing that and would only think about it if I had a dedicated Bull's Eye teammate. Most enemies drop dead in a second, outside elites, which are seconds most of the time. I also can't stand that Bull's Eye Doesn't work on bosses, that's super lame! The best part about the Recurve Crossbow Bullseye is that it increases your chance to crit as well, if only enemies were more tanky overall.
Great vid! Try the Icy Rain smg with the frost tactical shirt, combo that with the frosty blessing mod. 10% health healed per frost vortex, with high crit rate you almost never use activators. Also in the last beta around 24k dps
I was already thinking about it, gathering everything for it next, maybe outsider or that next, but those two will most likely be the next videos. Just wanted to break the ice with a Legendary.
got a purple crit mod from the south of mount guel (chalk peak, level 35 area, the village to the west of the beach, where you have deviation 120) for the armor. not sure if it was off the gear crate or the elite mobs, though, as i was going through it as fast as i could before the deviation ignoring buff ran out. and you are absolutely correct. a full crit build with the shrapnel SOCR is insane. i've seen the last boss getting killed in under a minute by a lvl 50 (the rest of us literally just stood and watched). do be warned though: i'm on the PVE server, so there may be different stats because of it.
Yeah, I pretty much never calibrate anything under Tier 5. However, I'm pretty sure you get most of your resources back when you break down the guns. Outside of the stardust and calibration attachment if you put one on.
@@b4nkai When you make a piece of gear, you then can calibrate it in the next tab over, each calibration level increase the damage on weapons, or health and psi intensity on armor.
The gas tight helmet limits your shrapnel hits per trigger to a max of 1. The Last Valor gives you a second trigger. Are you getting a third trigger from the gas tight helmet?
Allright.. nevermind.. testet it a Few seconds Ago.. jeah i did misread the description.. the gastight helmet gives you only 1 Shrapnel max, but +120% shrapnel dmg... but it seems like the barett is still waaaaaay better even without the 120% more dmg. i get consitently 2-3shrapnels per proc around 500-2000 dmg proc per shrap, with the gastight i only get 1-2 shraps (second only for crits) and the dmg is a bit higher
You have given me some interesting things to try and test I am running a similar build right now however using 3 pc lone wolf 2 pc falcon also using the butterfly deviant and shrapnel smash on weapon with recurve crossbow hitting 40k dps on dummy, without crossbow like 25-30k will probably switch to cage helmet when I can get more starchrom and also the 30% crit dmg to marked targets weapon mod for bossing when I can get it next week. You should definitely try the crossbow for bossing the crit increase definitely works and also try the butterfly.
So the crit increase works on the boss, yet not the vulnerability? That's strange. My best 20second timed DPS check with only The Last Valor, nothing else, is sitting at around 28K, which is right in your range. Cage may be better, I'm still running purple mods though. If I had someone else in my group with a crossbow I'd love it, I just hate the micromanaging of a gun/bow like that.
@@Xelray well from what i have noticed as I have a buddy running same build the crit increase from the bow wont apply if someone else applies it so you have to be the one to apply the bow bullseye and yeah I get you i also don't like micromanaging either so I only do it for bosses and elites as its only really viable for them and even than I only do it when a weakspot can be hit easily but yeah informative video nonetheless and how in the world did you manage to 3 star your lost valour? please tell me.
Is it 4 hit? I though its 4% to shrapnel, that why i never pick it up. now it look really good. with ability to crit for more shrapnel. Falcon + recurve crossbow, you can constantly proc shrapnel on top of that the shrapnel from the gun can crit. Like the 4% i though was like some sort of balance because how much dmg the crit can do.
Yes, it's every 4 hits, not 4%. Big difference, right? Recurve bow could be used, yet that's a lot of micro managing in a fight. If you have a bullseye friend, or frost vortex friend, you can get stable crit increases from them and truly BLOAT your damage.
Pretty decent setup, but why not taking the 3pc lonewolf for the 42% crit dmg? or even 60% with the 4pc. There is also a yellow mod called Shrapnel Smash that gives you a stacking crit chance buff up to 20% but that is very hard to get atm since its a random drop and can only be targetfarmed when HM is up next phase. Cage Helmet is also a nice option over Beret. Jaws gets an unlimited magazine with a mod tho, so I think Jaws will take the cake when HM comes.
I was seeing prioritizing critical rate as being stronger than critical damage, because it pushed the chances of more shrapnels overall. I may have taken the wrong path with that. Yet as far as cost wise, full lone wolf is definitely more expensive. I haven't seen shrapnel smash, is it overall crit rate, or just shrapnels crit rate? Jaws is awesome, yet, its a lot of purchases to get it set up. Wasn't interested in the crazy high cost of setting up the build. And if it is amazing dps, it may be overkill for this season, you know?
@@Xelray Yea for the early game building crit chance is probably more consistent! So this is a good early setup. But once you have Shrapnel Smash you get 20% crit from that mod alone. You can also use the Recurve Crossbow that marks enemies for +20% dmg and +30% crit rate for 10s. That alone is 50% crit rate. Then you use the Fateful Strike helmet mod (you don't deal weakspot dmg anymore, but you get 8% crit and 24% crit dmg on the purple one i have) The most efficient way to build Shrapnel is having bosses in mind, since for normal mobbing you delete everything just by looking at it :D Shrapnel Smash is for Shrapnel only, and it's a HM mod, but it has a very rare chance to drop from any T5 weapon chest right now. With the Caged Helmet you double your Shrapnel procs, so that's why you want to scale Shrapnel in the endgame. It will be your main dps. I have seen hardmode bosses being melted like normal elites in the open world. At the very endgame with optimized mods and stuff it can overtake Jaws. I also use the Extended Rifle mag, and the Heavy Magazine (or smt) calibration scroll and currently have 69 rounds in 1 magazine. The Reload penalty is negligible. More rounds is also a massive DPS increase.
They can be rare. I might of gotten lucky off a chest run I did near blackfell. I still haven't found all the mods, especially in legendary drops. Hard mode will make this easier.
I got lucky, yet anyone can do it simply with 18k starchrom. So my first 20 pull of random blueprints got me last valor, then I got the herald of courage. YET, I can still buy the gun again for 8000 starchrom. I may get it to 4 stars, yet that's a lot of starchrom.
I'm actually about to post a video for a mod run, you can do it off a 4-6 hour cooldown though. Other than that, we are waiting for hard mode. Expect it in an hour or less.
Am I the only MF'er that know about the Calibration MODS? Break down a FOUND piece of gear, the ones you did NOT craft. You get calibration mods This lets you change the stats (not effect) of your gear
Our group definitely knows. Yet for this guide, the basic calibration settings work well, and I haven't found better. I need to farm more Tier 5 guns and see the legendary drops. It seems there are 2-3 per gun type, and they might have some randomized stats. Everyone should learn though. I think most people don't even break down guns, because it isn't the first dismantle window.
@@airhd1233 Breaking down some guns allow you to get a calibration enhancement, where you can change stats from the weapon/armor crafting bench, its under calibrations. If that gets you there, great, if not, I'll have to log in and look at the menu's again.
I got a +20% firerate calibration with crit rate and crit damage for my jaws..... absolute game changer. Calibration stuff is the way to go to help get extra damage
Not exactly sure, might be, yet, it might of changed. I've been doing a lot of farming runs, and it might of dropped there too. My most recent video goes over that run.
any idea on the KVD boom boom? I was thinking of getting that one with the bounce sniper, I know Last valor is probably better for bosses but I wanted a more balanced build with enough damage for solo bosses and also for groups oh and the bounce sniper I have some mods that literally make the bounce upwards of 100% DMG even if no other targets are present
Bounce needs a target to bounce to. That's an activation term, now if you are close, and have the double bounce pants, that may work, yet then you are in shotgun range. I really want to see bounce do well, I've just had no luck testing it. Hopefully you do! Boom Boom is a good weapon, however, is has a high bar of entry. So you need to farm the final pieces to really make it great, its mid-good without them, yet does great on bosses, probably equal to the last valor even as it's normal basic stuff, it somewhat sucks at clearing because of ramp up time. In my opinion, I'd love to be proved wrong.

Hey, so I watched most of your video and I don't think I hear you say anything about your secondary. Have you tried looking at the purple crossbow you get from Red River? It comes with bullseye and gives your weapons 30% additional crit after a weakspot hit for 10s.
Correct. It also one shots most mobs. And it feels like bosses can't be hit with bullseye(The bullseye proc from this weapon is what makes your crit rate bloat unless I'm misunderstanding the gun benefits), just elites. So where it shines to make your primary gun stronger, it also just outright kills most of the mobs outside of elites. Yet the gun swap time I feel takes away that damage bonus. I feel like my combat deviant does that on command. Because it increases my weapon damage overall by 21%, further increased by cradle perks. I mentioned that right before my outro fight.
@@Xelray I got a lucky Legendary Xbow mod from breaking down a found crossbow (Rapid style or something) and it makes the weapon swap 50% faster. I'm thinking about putting it on the crossbow to make it feel less clunky to switch over to the primary gun. I'm currently running a surge build because *cries in starchrom* and while its nice I felt that the shrapnel AK/SMG I was running tier 3/4 was better. I had been running surge but got to the boss you fought in this video and it would not proc which killed my dmg for whatever reason so I had to go make some shrap weaponsthen went back and made a tier 5 surge.
It is. Especially for the first magazine of damage. The MG4 Predator, Jaws, and Corrosion were some of the top tier guns in beta. While they are nice, they made things feel easy. At least with the predator it has enough recoil where that becomes it's own mini game at times.

The legendary gasmask might end up being better, Yet off of raw numbers It may not. You'd get two triggers of base+120% damage. So, 220% shrapnel base damage per shot. 440% total. with the Beret and obliterate, You get two triggers with two part hits each, yet each shot is increased by 30% because of the obliterate mod. So I'm seeing 520% shrapnel damage per hit. With perfect mods, I'm unsure which one would be best, and I'm hesitant to spend 8,000 starchrom to test that, when there are so many other things to test too! You may very well be right it is better, yet its expensive!
The number you see should be huge, yet less numbers. crits on weakspots as a multiplier though, I could see it. Maybe in the future I'll pick it up, would allow me to replaced obliterate with something, yet that's all I've seen drop so far.
For the pants, Bastille pants give 10% Weapons Dmg when health is above 70%. Would that be better for more dmg focused? And what's your current battle stats for your load out?
I'm not in game right now, it's going to change wildly over the next day I think though. As I try to find legendary mods. And Bastille pants might be better, yet I find myself hovering around 50% or so and not healing immediately, definitely wouldn't be my mod, yet my health management is pretty poor. I'll try to remember to reply to this with stats. I've been running around trying to keep up.
@@Xelray I also found a gold mod called Shrapnel Smash from Monolith of Thirst. It's effect is: Triggering Shrapnel grants 1% shrapnel crit rate for 2 secs and up to 20 stacks. That's another 20% in crit rate occurrence in best case.

I'm working on frost vortex, it's very strong in my eyes. I don't like first focusing on "THE IT" gun, like jaws, because most likely they'll get balanced here soon. You'll see something soon ish.
It's bar of entry is higher. In this case by it's crit rate.There are a lot of weapons like that. I can think of the Boom Boom, Icy Rain, Last Valor, and I am sure there are more.
Where do I find a beret ? Everyone says that it is on the Mysterious Chest on Mirage Monolith (Arachsiam one) But I didn't get it from there, I literally almost wiped out all mysterious chests of the map and can't find it. Any help on that ? And great vid ! Clarified a lot of stuff for me
I'll try to get you a better answer, yet I remember getting it really early, I'd just look at which settlements aren't complete, and you'll find it quick if you don't have many left.
Burn takes the most work. I'd say Power Surge, Shrapnel, and frost vortex are all good choices for the things we get for free in the game, very little starchrom needed outside of what we get!
You think so? I'd have to kill all my weakspot damage. I'll run it when I get a mod and see the difference though. It definitely is great for crit though, just not sure if it'd remove a lot of my damage or not.
They are both good. I think this one will be a hair stronger, yet I may be proven wrong, I want to test the outsider again in launch, because my beta video is outdated, and also frost vortex with the icy rain, which we get in Chalk Peak in a chest.
Is Bull's Eye worth investing on? I have the golden sniper but i can't find an interesting 2nd weapon with that prefix so i might just switch to unstable bomber, what do you think?
I want to test bullseye a bit more. I think it'd be a killer support build if it worked on bosses. I'd like a better group killing tool as my secondary, and I'm unsure of exactly I'd choose of the top of my head. I'll probably be looking at that tonight. Unstable bomber has the same issue though. since all the armors only really focus on one gun. It feels.

I read the little jaws because of another comment, I'd say if you focus on hitting weakspots, and have a high delay, if it still doesn't perform, it may be wise to switch. However the armor piece I'd try to use for it would be Explosive Front Top if you wanted to double down on it.
I'm not sure when I can make a video on the gun build itself, yet I can do a rundown. Saw your last comment. I'd assume you have it. Jaws / Shaman Vulture Top being the main combo. Weapon Calibration - Rapid Shot Style, preferably with sub stats of elemental damage, and crit rate. I'd say starting armor should be 3 piece falcon, 2 piece heavy duty, then either change out the heavy duty for shelterer or savior, depending what works best for you. Point detonation will be the mask mod I believe, I don't know exactly all the weapon mods yet. Head - Deviation Expert/Fateful Strike, Pants - Deadshot, Boots - Slow and Steady, Gloves - Crit Boost / Elemental Overload. You'll have to tweak from there. Yet, that should get you to a very good place. Remember, the more crits you do, the better, and you want Explosive Bomber to ALWAYS CRIT, so you are looking for over 90% crit rate if you can muster it.
Im so torn there is no best build or anything and I have no idea what to spend my 8000 starcron on I would ahte to spend it on this to only find a video in a week saying power surge is way better. Seems though ultimatley you will get all the BPs considering you don't lose them on wipe. I wanted to build into snipers but I really feel they are not ganna be good with raw dps especially if you do not hit weakspots all teh time which on some bosses can be difficult.
True. As I said, I can't say that The Last Valor will be the best. Yet, it's solid. Who knows what will happen with balance patches. I have 2-3 other builds I want to try. Yet they'll take a second to build up. The outsider and icy rain will carry you too if you build well.
This is weird both me and my friend run the socr but i have more damage than him due to mods, he switched to gold kam and for some reason that being the only thing he changed, he is now dealing way more damage than me. Is the KAM just better or?
The KAM is a frost vortex build, so it plays completely different, maybe they are better, I haven't been able to test that out yet. Interesting though. I'd think you'd need at least some sort of mods to help it to make it feel better.
No, Falcon does not have psi intensity anymore, Heavy does, it'll be a mix match. Will probably be my next build to update, might be a few days though.
I wasn't sure when I originally made this video. I use an assault style, crit damage/crit rate, yet would love an assault, crit rate/crit rate if I could find it.
is it better than the power surge version? i felt like they were both the same but maybe its cos i didn't have any good shrapnel mods and high crit... but out of the box they both are very similar, the purple version maybe even felt better.
The outsider is a completely different beast, you focus on psi intensity and element damage, you just need enough crit to get one every 3 seconds, and most of your efforts go into raining lightning bolts onto enemies. The mayfly goggles are a good boost of damage on the outsider too. Yet you can make it a weapon damage based gun if you used the legendary Gas Mask hood helmet. I mained power surge in Closed Beta Test 3. It was really fun.

For The Last Valor? My first random 20 pull I got the Last Valor there the first week I played. so I got a duplicate with the weekly pass. It adds maybe 8-10% damage though, so it's not a crazy thing. A 1 star vs 6 star those would be like 20-25%, which is pretty crazy.
Yep. I want blueprints to try, not just lock in one build. I got extra squid blueprints which may be fun to play with too. And the Tattoo/Prickly Dance Pants.
I have an old jaws build in my videos, it gets you the basics, the armor is going to change though. Not sure the best min maxing, yet getting jaws to crit 100% specifically with it's blast damage of the time is the goal. I found being around 90% crit with the gun after the shaman cloak proc is huge for keeping damage up.
The cage adds a third proc of shrapnel right? The gastight is the one that limits your max parts hit, yet increases it's damage by 120%? I'm not sure why you are seeing bigger numbers on your cage. Maybe your mods have better substats than mine.
I'll think about it, problem with snipers off the bat is if you miss, it really sucks, even if you just miss a weak point once. Different story for PvP of course. If I find something that works, I'll post it though.
If you can't mark bosses that SUPER SUCKS. That's just a punishment. Even if it was a lesser percent. I've been holding onto my Tier 5 Bingo to play with it and was hoping I could hit bosses and switch to my main weapon.
@@jaxteller5974 PvP is all about time to kill IMO. I feel The Last Valor is okay, yet, when you get hit by a front loaded power house like jaws or a sniper, it may not be as great. It's all situational in PvP though.
Doesn't marking happen when the enemy is in a vulnerable state? The blue outline of their body indicates this when you hit the enemy in the weak spot with the sniper.
The caged helm are three triggers of shrapnel, beret makes each trigger hit twice. Yet if you go with explosive shrapnel it may be better. There is definitely a lot of testing that needs to be done still.
It reads like it should do well if you hit weakspots and have high delay on unstable bomber. Yet it's a lot of text to infer from without hands on testing. If I find a copy of it in the world, I'll let you know!
I did the jaws in beta, it's very strong. Yet the build for it has changed from beta with the nerfs to the falcon set, it used to have 20% base psi intensity increase, the next best thing you could do would be is 3 piece falcon for getting your bomber to 90%+ crit, then 2 piece savior set? It just requires a lot of stats that aren't built together. It very well could be stronger, yet focusing on psi intensity and crit rate/damage will be tough.
I don't get it, you guys are buying energy or starchrome ? You got so manny golden items and blueprints which is too hard to belive, since the game released one week ago. More over you have tier 3 (upgraded) the last valor golden weapon blueprint. You should have spent over 50.000 stsrchrome to get all these, and even so to be lucky. You bought it for pay to win ?
So I did my first 20 pull of randoms, and got the last valor. So that's 10k starchrom. Did the guided The Last Valor, that was another 10k, and that got me to 3 star, then I directly bought the two set items from the wish shop, a total of 6k, so that's a total of 26k starchrom, and now I'm broke. The second gold item I have for a weapon was a found weapon.
Hopefully this helps those who wanted it. Tons of people gave me video ideas, and this was one I could knock out pretty easy since I already got lucky getting the gun! If you have more ideas, let me know!
Nah, this is launch. There are tons of people level 50. I think the beta folks being able to level up to 50 before just know the routes to take. There were people level 50 BEFORE the new week launched. Those people were crazy. I thought I was high at like, 32-34.
100% through the Wish machine catalogue for 8000 starchrom, if you are on a PvE server, there is a Wish Machine guided drop with the Herald of Courage, not sure if it's the same on PvP. 1/20 chance, or spend 10k to get everything in the drop.

Assuming built correctly, what do you think is the meta for PvE? Jaws, Predator or Last valor or any weapons i didnt mention?
I might be wrong. Yet I am thinking Icy Rain could be crazy with how many buffs the jelly give it when it's up.

@@Xelray well from what i have noticed as I have a buddy running same build the crit increase from the bow wont apply if someone else applies it so you have to be the one to apply the bow bullseye and yeah I get you i also don't like micromanaging either so I only do it for bosses and elites as its only really viable for them and even than I only do it when a weakspot can be hit easily but yeah informative video nonetheless and how in the world did you manage to 3 star your lost valour? please tell me.

That may very well be better. Yet it takes about 4 seconds to unload a magazine, so the damage felt a bit unstable.
Hope you are right, cause 4% is a useless proc rate. I'd just stick with the purple SCAR-H, power surge is delightful.
It procs VERY OFTEN. 4% is just a mis translation. At the end of the video I'm fighting a boss with it and you can see how often it goes off.
Saving star for armor sets so I’m running power surge as well and love it.
Power surge just feels good, and it's flashy. It's not nearly as boring to play just because of watching thunderclaps go off.

Is it 4 hit? I though its 4% to shrapnel, that why i never pick it up. now it look really good. with ability to crit for more shrapnel. Falcon + recurve crossbow, you can constantly proc shrapnel on top of that the shrapnel from the gun can crit. Like the 4% i though was like some sort of balance because how much dmg the crit can do.
Yes, it's every 4 hits, not 4%. Big difference, right?
Recurve bow could be used, yet that's a lot of micro managing in a fight. If you have a bullseye friend, or frost vortex friend, you can get stable crit increases from them and truly BLOAT your damage.
Pretty decent setup, but why not taking the 3pc lonewolf for the 42% crit dmg? or even 60% with the 4pc. There is also a yellow mod called Shrapnel Smash that gives you a stacking crit chance buff up to 20% but that is very hard to get atm since its a random drop and can only be targetfarmed when HM is up next phase. Cage Helmet is also a nice option over Beret. Jaws gets an unlimited magazine with a mod tho, so I think Jaws will take the cake when HM comes.
I was seeing prioritizing critical rate as being stronger than critical damage, because it pushed the chances of more shrapnels overall. I may have taken the wrong path with that. Yet as far as cost wise, full lone wolf is definitely more expensive.
I haven't seen shrapnel smash, is it overall crit rate, or just shrapnels crit rate?
Jaws is awesome, yet, its a lot of purchases to get it set up. Wasn't interested in the crazy high cost of setting up the build. And if it is amazing dps, it may be overkill for this season, you know?
@@Xelray Yea for the early game building crit chance is probably more consistent! So this is a good early setup.
But once you have Shrapnel Smash you get 20% crit from that mod alone. You can also use the Recurve Crossbow that marks enemies for +20% dmg and +30% crit rate for 10s. That alone is 50% crit rate. Then you use the Fateful Strike helmet mod (you don't deal weakspot dmg anymore, but you get 8% crit and 24% crit dmg on the purple one i have)
The most efficient way to build Shrapnel is having bosses in mind, since for normal mobbing you delete everything just by looking at it :D
Shrapnel Smash is for Shrapnel only, and it's a HM mod, but it has a very rare chance to drop from any T5 weapon chest right now. With the Caged Helmet you double your Shrapnel procs, so that's why you want to scale Shrapnel in the endgame. It will be your main dps. I have seen hardmode bosses being melted like normal elites in the open world. At the very endgame with optimized mods and stuff it can overtake Jaws.
I also use the Extended Rifle mag, and the Heavy Magazine (or smt) calibration scroll and currently have 69 rounds in 1 magazine. The Reload penalty is negligible. More rounds is also a massive DPS increase.

They can be rare. I might of gotten lucky off a chest run I did near blackfell. I still haven't found all the mods, especially in legendary drops. Hard mode will make this easier.

I got lucky, yet anyone can do it simply with 18k starchrom. So my first 20 pull of random blueprints got me last valor, then I got the herald of courage. YET, I can still buy the gun again for 8000 starchrom. I may get it to 4 stars, yet that's a lot of starchrom.
Any good advice on where to get these specific mods to drop for the build? I know certain places like Silos drop armor mods.
I'm actually about to post a video for a mod run, you can do it off a 4-6 hour cooldown though. Other than that, we are waiting for hard mode. Expect it in an hour or less.

Our group definitely knows. Yet for this guide, the basic calibration settings work well, and I haven't found better. I need to farm more Tier 5 guns and see the legendary drops. It seems there are 2-3 per gun type, and they might have some randomized stats.
Everyone should learn though. I think most people don't even break down guns, because it isn't the first dismantle window.

@@airhd1233 Breaking down some guns allow you to get a calibration enhancement, where you can change stats from the weapon/armor crafting bench, its under calibrations. If that gets you there, great, if not, I'll have to log in and look at the menu's again.
I got a +20% firerate calibration with crit rate and crit damage for my jaws..... absolute game changer. Calibration stuff is the way to go to help get extra damage

Not exactly sure, might be, yet, it might of changed. I've been doing a lot of farming runs, and it might of dropped there too. My most recent video goes over that run.

any idea on the KVD boom boom? I was thinking of getting that one with the bounce sniper, I know Last valor is probably better for bosses but I wanted a more balanced build with enough damage for solo bosses and also for groups oh and the bounce sniper I have some mods that literally make the bounce upwards of 100% DMG even if no other targets are present
Bounce needs a target to bounce to. That's an activation term, now if you are close, and have the double bounce pants, that may work, yet then you are in shotgun range. I really want to see bounce do well, I've just had no luck testing it. Hopefully you do!
Boom Boom is a good weapon, however, is has a high bar of entry. So you need to farm the final pieces to really make it great, its mid-good without them, yet does great on bosses, probably equal to the last valor even as it's normal basic stuff, it somewhat sucks at clearing because of ramp up time. In my opinion, I'd love to be proved wrong.

Hey, so I watched most of your video and I don't think I hear you say anything about your secondary. Have you tried looking at the purple crossbow you get from Red River? It comes with bullseye and gives your weapons 30% additional crit after a weakspot hit for 10s.
Correct. It also one shots most mobs. And it feels like bosses can't be hit with bullseye(The bullseye proc from this weapon is what makes your crit rate bloat unless I'm misunderstanding the gun benefits), just elites. So where it shines to make your primary gun stronger, it also just outright kills most of the mobs outside of elites. Yet the gun swap time I feel takes away that damage bonus.
I feel like my combat deviant does that on command. Because it increases my weapon damage overall by 21%, further increased by cradle perks. I mentioned that right before my outro fight.
@@Xelray I got a lucky Legendary Xbow mod from breaking down a found crossbow (Rapid style or something) and it makes the weapon swap 50% faster. I'm thinking about putting it on the crossbow to make it feel less clunky to switch over to the primary gun. I'm currently running a surge build because *cries in starchrom* and while its nice I felt that the shrapnel AK/SMG I was running tier 3/4 was better. I had been running surge but got to the boss you fought in this video and it would not proc which killed my dmg for whatever reason so I had to go make some shrap weaponsthen went back and made a tier 5 surge.

Yes, it's a pure gun damage build, instead of psi intensity, which increases elemental damage.
I used the gradient shrapnel SMG from like level 12-50, lol.
The Div Evo? That felt pretty darn good, I think I used it for a while leveling too.

i picked the mg4 predator since it sounds op, and i was right its HELLA op.
It is. Especially for the first magazine of damage. The MG4 Predator, Jaws, and Corrosion were some of the top tier guns in beta. While they are nice, they made things feel easy.
At least with the predator it has enough recoil where that becomes it's own mini game at times.

It is every 4th shot. Target dummy testing is easy. Btw yf the baret go for the legy gasmask.
The legendary gasmask might end up being better, Yet off of raw numbers It may not. You'd get two triggers of base+120% damage. So, 220% shrapnel base damage per shot. 440% total. with the Beret and obliterate, You get two triggers with two part hits each, yet each shot is increased by 30% because of the obliterate mod. So I'm seeing 520% shrapnel damage per hit. With perfect mods, I'm unsure which one would be best, and I'm hesitant to spend 8,000 starchrom to test that, when there are so many other things to test too!

@@Xelray The dmg difference is huge but Baret is dirt cheap because it's free ^^ and because of this a good starting point.
The number you see should be huge, yet less numbers. crits on weakspots as a multiplier though, I could see it. Maybe in the future I'll pick it up, would allow me to replaced obliterate with something, yet that's all I've seen drop so far.
For the pants, Bastille pants give 10% Weapons Dmg when health is above 70%. Would that be better for more dmg focused? And what's your current battle stats for your load out?
I'm not in game right now, it's going to change wildly over the next day I think though. As I try to find legendary mods. And Bastille pants might be better, yet I find myself hovering around 50% or so and not healing immediately, definitely wouldn't be my mod, yet my health management is pretty poor. I'll try to remember to reply to this with stats. I've been running around trying to keep up.
@@Xelray I also found a gold mod called Shrapnel Smash from Monolith of Thirst. It's effect is: Triggering Shrapnel grants 1% shrapnel crit rate for 2 secs and up to 20 stacks. That's another 20% in crit rate occurrence in best case.

I'm working on frost vortex, it's very strong in my eyes. I don't like first focusing on "THE IT" gun, like jaws, because most likely they'll get balanced here soon.

Is the berreta better than the caged helmet? The caged helmet says Shrapnel trigger count +1, is there a difference?
Caged helm gives you a third trigger of single hit shrapnels, and beret gives you two hits per trigger and valor is typically two procs.

I'll try to get you a better answer, yet I remember getting it really early, I'd just look at which settlements aren't complete, and you'll find it quick if you don't have many left.

Burn takes the most work. I'd say Power Surge, Shrapnel, and frost vortex are all good choices for the things we get for free in the game, very little starchrom needed outside of what we get!

I want to test bullseye a bit more. I think it'd be a killer support build if it worked on bosses. I'd like a better group killing tool as my secondary, and I'm unsure of exactly I'd choose of the top of my head. I'll probably be looking at that tonight.
Unstable bomber has the same issue though. since all the armors only really focus on one gun. It feels.

I read the little jaws because of another comment, I'd say if you focus on hitting weakspots, and have a high delay, if it still doesn't perform, it may be wise to switch. However the armor piece I'd try to use for it would be Explosive Front Top if you wanted to double down on it.

I'm not sure when I can make a video on the gun build itself, yet I can do a rundown. Saw your last comment. I'd assume you have it. Jaws / Shaman Vulture Top being the main combo. Weapon Calibration - Rapid Shot Style, preferably with sub stats of elemental damage, and crit rate. I'd say starting armor should be 3 piece falcon, 2 piece heavy duty, then either change out the heavy duty for shelterer or savior, depending what works best for you. Point detonation will be the mask mod I believe, I don't know exactly all the weapon mods yet. Head - Deviation Expert/Fateful Strike, Pants - Deadshot, Boots - Slow and Steady, Gloves - Crit Boost / Elemental Overload. You'll have to tweak from there. Yet, that should get you to a very good place. Remember, the more crits you do, the better, and you want Explosive Bomber to ALWAYS CRIT, so you are looking for over 90% crit rate if you can muster it.

Im so torn there is no best build or anything and I have no idea what to spend my 8000 starcron on I would ahte to spend it on this to only find a video in a week saying power surge is way better. Seems though ultimatley you will get all the BPs considering you don't lose them on wipe. I wanted to build into snipers but I really feel they are not ganna be good with raw dps especially if you do not hit weakspots all teh time which on some bosses can be difficult.
True. As I said, I can't say that The Last Valor will be the best. Yet, it's solid. Who knows what will happen with balance patches. I have 2-3 other builds I want to try. Yet they'll take a second to build up. The outsider and icy rain will carry you too if you build well.

I wouldn't get a sniper if you want to be carried, unless you just want to PvP.
This is weird both me and my friend run the socr but i have more damage than him due to mods, he switched to gold kam and for some reason that being the only thing he changed, he is now dealing way more damage than me. Is the KAM just better or?
The KAM is a frost vortex build, so it plays completely different, maybe they are better, I haven't been able to test that out yet. Interesting though. I'd think you'd need at least some sort of mods to help it to make it feel better.
Have you tested the mask that looks like a fire fighters mask? +1 hit and 120% damage

No, Falcon does not have psi intensity anymore, Heavy does, it'll be a mix match. Will probably be my next build to update, might be a few days though.

Really anything that adds damage, it's not too specific. Just stay away from psi intensity since we have nothing that uses it as a Last Valor build.
What calibration do u use?
I wasn't sure when I originally made this video. I use an assault style, crit damage/crit rate, yet would love an assault, crit rate/crit rate if I could find it.

If your damage numbers are on, you see extra numbers. Shrapnel is the least flashy of all the damage types. Unfortunately.
Where to get the special part for tier 4 weapon?
Just complete areas in the chalk peak, you should get plenty of parts, you also get your crystals for doing the same.

is it better than the power surge version? i felt like they were both the same but maybe its cos i didn't have any good shrapnel mods and high crit... but out of the box they both are very similar, the purple version maybe even felt better.
The outsider is a completely different beast, you focus on psi intensity and element damage, you just need enough crit to get one every 3 seconds, and most of your efforts go into raining lightning bolts onto enemies. The mayfly goggles are a good boost of damage on the outsider too. Yet you can make it a weapon damage based gun if you used the legendary Gas Mask hood helmet. I mained power surge in Closed Beta Test 3. It was really fun.

For The Last Valor? My first random 20 pull I got the Last Valor there the first week I played. so I got a duplicate with the weekly pass. It adds maybe 8-10% damage though, so it's not a crazy thing. A 1 star vs 6 star those would be like 20-25%, which is pretty crazy.

The first week we didn't have a favored loot pull. Used a funky way to describe it. So when we did have the favored pull I got it as a duplicate.

I have an old jaws build in my videos, it gets you the basics, the armor is going to change though. Not sure the best min maxing, yet getting jaws to crit 100% specifically with it's blast damage of the time is the goal. I found being around 90% crit with the gun after the shaman cloak proc is huge for keeping damage up.

The cage adds a third proc of shrapnel right? The gastight is the one that limits your max parts hit, yet increases it's damage by 120%? I'm not sure why you are seeing bigger numbers on your cage. Maybe your mods have better substats than mine.

I'll think about it, problem with snipers off the bat is if you miss, it really sucks, even if you just miss a weak point once. Different story for PvP of course. If I find something that works, I'll post it though.

@@jaxteller5974 PvP is all about time to kill IMO. I feel The Last Valor is okay, yet, when you get hit by a front loaded power house like jaws or a sniper, it may not be as great. It's all situational in PvP though.
Doesn't marking happen when the enemy is in a vulnerable state? The blue outline of their body indicates this when you hit the enemy in the weak spot with the sniper.

The caged helm are three triggers of shrapnel, beret makes each trigger hit twice. Yet if you go with explosive shrapnel it may be better. There is definitely a lot of testing that needs to be done still.

I did the jaws in beta, it's very strong. Yet the build for it has changed from beta with the nerfs to the falcon set, it used to have 20% base psi intensity increase, the next best thing you could do would be is 3 piece falcon for getting your bomber to 90%+ crit, then 2 piece savior set? It just requires a lot of stats that aren't built together. It very well could be stronger, yet focusing on psi intensity and crit rate/damage will be tough.

I don't get it, you guys are buying energy or starchrome ? You got so manny golden items and blueprints which is too hard to belive, since the game released one week ago. More over you have tier 3 (upgraded) the last valor golden weapon blueprint. You should have spent over 50.000 stsrchrome to get all these, and even so to be lucky. You bought it for pay to win ?
So I did my first 20 pull of randoms, and got the last valor. So that's 10k starchrom. Did the guided The Last Valor, that was another 10k, and that got me to 3 star, then I directly bought the two set items from the wish shop, a total of 6k, so that's a total of 26k starchrom, and now I'm broke. The second gold item I have for a weapon was a found weapon.
I only got a handful of purification on first week. Did I lose a ton a starcrom? I got my phase 2 crom right away and don't think I've gotten more.
Hopefully this helps those who wanted it. Tons of people gave me video ideas, and this was one I could knock out pretty easy since I already got lucky getting the gun! If you have more ideas, let me know!

Nah, this is launch. There are tons of people level 50. I think the beta folks being able to level up to 50 before just know the routes to take. There were people level 50 BEFORE the new week launched. Those people were crazy. I thought I was high at like, 32-34.

100% through the Wish machine catalogue for 8000 starchrom, if you are on a PvE server, there is a Wish Machine guided drop with the Herald of Courage, not sure if it's the same on PvP. 1/20 chance, or spend 10k to get everything in the drop.
