    I just installed the exact same setup on my 24 STRS.
    I removed the rubber grommet from the stock muffler and used that for the Yoshimura.
    As a whole, super simple install. I’ve owned sport bikes and removing all those fairings to get to the headers was always a pain.

    These underslug exhausts are incredibly loud and make the whole helmet vibrate while you ride. I had similar issue on the 2012 street R and despite the baffle I had to use either noice cancelling headphones or a pair of earplugs. Looked good but in the hindsight I’d never do another mod like this😅
    Ps. Regarding the horn… it’s facing the wrong way and sits behind the radiator so people might not hear you well enough when needed. Wonderful bike, enjoy!

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  Год назад

      Stock exhaust is way too quite for a bike like this. No issues with helmet vibrations here. It's louder, but to me in a good way. Sound can be subjective. Moving the horn is a must for me... its still plenty loud.

    Awesome job for finding this works with older headers. Quick question though for us Europeans: since you call this street "2024", it means the "2021" headers is in reality the 2020 one ? I'm planning on doing the same thing as you but really don't want to mess up the ordering part :s

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  Год назад +1

      No, a 2021 is a 2021... I would look for a 21-22 header over there, and a 21-23 header here in the States. Not sure why Triumph calls ours a 2024... maybe because production for the US was behind and they needed to get rid of the older generation. When I went to the dealer there was 23 right next to the 24 model... the 23 was heavily discounted.

      I’m sure you already know this about exhausts. FYI, I put an aftermarket exhaust - Leo Vince - on my Ducati because I wanted a better sounding bike. After installation I realized that it was too loud. It didn’t come with a baffle either. More importantly, I realized that my watch was telling me the sound was loud enough to damage my hearing. I think people who have loud exhausts should wear hearing protection. You can’t get your hearing back once you lose it.

    • @jbean530
      @jbean530 11 месяцев назад +1

      This is good advice. I wear ear plugs just to protect from wind noise. My 2018 str has stock, which I like. I put an after market pipe on my Grom which made me pull over and buy some ear plugs which is when I started using them. Hearing is very important.

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  Год назад

      I thought about doing something similar, but cutting it after the cat. Cutting the cat off would be more of a project as it is so close to the O2 sensor. The problem with cutting after the cat has its issues also because the the outside diameter is 55mm from the cat to the muffler instead of 44mm for the older systems. The aftermarket exhaust uses a mid pipe that has a inside diameter of 44.5mm, no way to make the work. You have to have a exhaust shop make some type of adapter. Keeping looking on ebay they do pop up a lot.
