I've got one of these and I can tell you that the fitment isn't a big deal. 15 minutes with a file on a dremel and a metra dash kit and you're good. He didn't mention that the RCA's are totally clean all the way to max volume. That's super rare to get a fully clean signal for your amplifiers. This thing was built for amplified systems more than to be a factory replacement.

I have to agree with your question… a volume knob is a must. It bugs me as hell when the stereo doesn’t have one.
Man, I've tried using stereos without one for awhile and it just doesn't feel right. I've gotten used to not having a volume knob but ever since I installed this one, there's no going back for me. hahah
I'm new here! I've been watching your fd conversion. This year i'm importing a fd1 and i will need to change the passenger corner tail light lol. you're the only one that i love how it records its content! love your videos man!
The bezel fit my buddy's car no problem and for the price coupled with the DSP Id say those issues are worth the fuss and my buddy says the DSP works very well with his component system I cant speak for anyone else’s systems. I just ordered one for myself.
So only reason I might be getting this one compared to the Atoto f7 xe is cuz I have aftermarket equipment in my Tahoe and the rcas on this one unit is at 4.2 volts… someone else did a meter on this stereo … also cuz of the Netflix but I like the part of the XE you can have YT on screen and turn it off as well and it still plays … decisions decisions decisions 😩…. Currently have an Alpine Ina 910 unit
Ah man, sorry I’ve been slacking on the next vid. I actually found that you can get nextflix on any Android Operating system. There’s just a couple of extra steps to make it happen. The F7 is Linux based and so there’s no way to download apps because there isn’t google play store. The ATOTO a6 and s8 are android operating systems so you can get any app. They also sell an amplifier, you can check it out here amzn.to/3KHRnaQ I haven’t tested it myself but it’s cool that there’s an upgrade if you’re focusing on audio quality. I only recommend ATOTO over this head unit because they’ve already produced more products and their system is more stable and very well documented. Hopefully I helped you a bit more with your decision
Thanks for the video. I've used a 32GB flash drive for MP3 files. Anybody know if the q96 will handle larger? Would like to confirm size limit before I buy one.

It’s good for the price point. Have it on my rsx… my only real con is the reverse sound mute. Even if you shut it off in settings when ever i put it in reverse it cuts off my music. If anyone knows a work around please let me know. 🙏🏽
How does the phone microphone work? I mean can people hear you clearly?. That's the problem with my no name Android big screen radio. Besides the fact that it doesn't have a tactile volume knob
HDMI is output only. To enable screen mirror, it’s a little inconvenient but go to Settings/car settings/easy connection and then set to EasyConnection. This will restart your head unit and every time you hook up your phone, it’ll open screen mirror instead of CarPlay/android auto. You’ll have to keep doing this every time you want to switch between Mirroring and Carplay/Androidauto. It uses an app called CarbitLink that will appear on your app list once the settings have been changed to EasyConnection
In my opinion, the maxpeedingrods is brand new to the world car stereos. ATOTO and Eonon have been making car stereos for awhile. I like the UA13 because it has the volume knob and is the only known stereo using Android 13, so I’d recommend that one to anyone for sure
I'm surprised to admit this but I prefer the maxpeedingrods ONLY because of the volume knob. If it weren't for that, I'd go for the atoto. I do miss being able to select a youtube video on my phone and casting it on the screen but the volume knob makes a world of a difference to me hahah
I don’t use the Here We Go app because Google suggests it’s a harmful software. I use Google maps from the Play Store and you can get offline maps to work on there
@@Rawrkee - The "Here we go" is in the Google Play Store (I think you meant the IGO APP is harmful). Anyhow the "Here we go" APP that comes with the Maxpeedingrods Q96 is out of date and the Google Play store says it cannot work, with the the head unit (android 10 🙄). I found an APP in the Google store called "NAVIGATOR", so far it seems to work. Yes, I bench tested it on top of my dashboard while driving wires and all everywhere.
yes, it'll fit. All you'll need is a double-din dash kit to get it installed. Check out crutchfield.com and it'll pretty much tell you everything you need to install it. I'm not sure if you can retain the factory reverse camera but maybe Crutchfield has some sort of kit that will allow you to use it. If not, you'll have to install an aftermarket camera and run a wire from the car stereo to the rear.
theres an adapter you can purchase amzn.to/3AcGLdX but if you're pretty confident with wiring, I simply referenced that product's install guide to figure out which OEM wires to tap into. The maxpeedingrods harness will have two wires for SWC. On my 07 Honda Civic, there were two wires on the OEM harness that needed to be tapped into. One was for ground, and the other went to the maxpeedingrods head unit. In some cases, you'll have to use both wires from the maxpeedingrods head unit. It just depends on your car.
Both! It comes down to what you’re planning to do with it. In my 07 Honda Civic, I strictly use it for music and sometimes navigation and so I prefer the maxpeedingrods head unit especially for the volume knob. If it wasn’t for the volume knob, I’d choose ATOTO. In my 98 Honda prelude, I’m running the 10.1 inch ATOTO s8 and it’s amazing, the system is more stable, it has way better documentation, the display is very similar to an iPad screen, and I use it for music, RUclips, and navigation. Just sucks it doesn’t have a volume knob. So if you’re planning to stream movies/video, I recommend the ATOTO but with a bigger screen for sure. 7inch is a little small in my opinion but it works. I’ll be posting a review on the 10.1 inch head unit soon
@@Rawrkee I’m surprised you replied thank you, I just got a 5th gen Honda prelude and I wanna build it up the best I can. But barley anyone has a prelude account so I was happy to see your account

Did you run into any problems with Android Auto not recognizing voice commands? Mine works fine in the built in apps... just not voice commands in android auto(zlink app?)
I've never used android voice commands and so I'm not sure. Did you install the external mic? Maybe that can help with the head unit picking up your voice.
We’re you running the speaker cables that came out of the head unit or the rca outputs? If you were using the speaker connections how is the sound quality when you turn it up?
I used the regular speaker wires, my speakers are much louder and I can even hear bass from them as opposed to my OEM radio. I then bypassed my OEM amplifier and it got rid of this white noise I heard at low volume, I’d say the sound quality is much better than the stock radio.
It can download the app BUT it wont work :/ However, that doesn't mean it can't work later on. For any OBD2 type app, like Hondata, You'll have to email maxpeedingrods the .apk file and see if they create an update for it. I would've done it myself but I don't have Hondata.
