    Red - History (it’s a “blood” subject)
Yellow - Science (it’s an “energy” subject)
Blue - English (it’s an “idea” subject. Ideas are blue to me because they come out of the sky.)
    Green - Math (it’s a “money” subject)

I use both digital and paper for productivity too, and need both to function the best I can! All notes are taken and archived digitally, as well as tasks and events. Every week, I shortlist and schedule the tasks I will work on for the week ahead and write them into my paper planner, which will then also track their progress and completion. Lastly I have a physical and digital space for brain dumps and capturing sudden/random ideas, for me to use as and when I want/need.

I use both digital and paper, but I find myself quite disorganized because I don't have a strong system of reviewing and archiving things. I also have a lot of misplaced guilt over swapping around ny planning systems, like using different apps or a bullet journal or note paper or even designing my own printables, but then I had a thought the other day that these are all just tools; a good toolbox has a variety of tools to tackle any project. Even a tool like a screwdriver requires different bits (flat, Phillips, Robertson, etc. and in different sizes) to be flexible and adapt to different projects. So I'm becoming more comfortable bouncing around different systems and learning that there are general themes and needs for me to meet in each system: lists, appointments/deadlines, personal notes, etc. I love paper planning but the convenience of some digital tools can't be beat!

Yess! One of my biggest issues with paper planning is that I’m a HUGE “collections” girly lol. I have a list for so many things like games to play, horror movies to watch, on and on. Those are so perfectly suited to digital (Apple reminders/notes depending on what the list is about) cause maintaining those lists and checking things off as I’ve watched becomes a mess. Some things are so perfect for digital

Math was Red, Science was Blue, English was Green, History was Yellow, and then Purple was either the extras notebook/folder, or whatever my elective was so usually a more specific science or english class like Biology or American Literature.
I honestly would love to have an only analogue system but it would have to be all in the same notebook and carrying a notebook + pens for organizing is just so irritably impractical - for other people, at least. I prefer to carry a backpack with me everywhere but it is significantly bulkier than most purses and I get a lot of like... I dunno, dirty looks? Judgmental sneers? From strangers and sometimes even family members when I accommodate myself with certain things like a backpack with all my needs or over-ear headphones to dampen sound.

I'm so glad you said math is red... When you brought up English, I was like "I don't remember any subject EXCEPT math is definitely red!"

Dollar tree has great weekly planners. Incredibly functional, and super cheap so you dont have the guilt! I use to buy one every year and actually used it. Also my library has free printing, so im able to get by with printing out a montly calendar.

The only thing I use digital for is my work calendar. I still write my schedule out on my paper planners to combine work and personal.

Have you looked into note taking apps? I use good notes and create my own pages in Canva. I use mine as a structured planner with premade pages, but I also have a lot of blank pages that I essentially set up in a bullet journal style. I’m able to save and upload pictures from the Internet, copy and paste and move things around a lot easier but I also get the actual handwriting aspect with the Apple Pencil, I’ve been doing this for about two years and I feel like it really has meshed a lot of other things I like about digital and paper while still primarily paper/handwritten feel.

Same! Planning is fun for me, but I don't like it taking up too much time because I can get carried away and don't like the feeling/anxiety that I need to plan before/to complete a task. I use These videos as gentle suggestions that could help me on my planner journey and can easily see what works for me, what won't work for me, and the in betweens

I use both. I would be lost without digital, all of my appointments go into my Google calendar, I rely on those electronic reminders. I mainly use my paper planner for to-do lists currently, but I’m toying the idea of using my planner to track a cleaning schedule, notes and stuff for the house.

I'm glad you posted this video. I too suffer from acute pendulumitis between digital and analog.
    For me it goes:
"ah I need this digital thing to deal with work stuff" → "ah this is cool" → more and more digital → "paper is waaay better!" → "I gotta mix the two somehow" 🤔.
And then back to the start...
I think the point that you made that the *archive* can be the digital thing will be key to me. A huge part of me loooves Obsidian; but if I am honest with myself, I prefer pen and paper for capture. These don't have to conflict!

I’ve found a balance of digital and paper that I’m super happy with!
I plan ahead and time track/record on paper. I build my daily Bujo style list in my reminders app/widgets on my phone. At the end of the day, I review my completed reminders from my digital Bujo style list and do a daily journal/reflection detailing the out of the norm tasks. Reviewing the digital completed list also reminds me of things that happened through the day that I want to write down.
For example, when I ticked off doing the dishes, I was reminded that my 3 year old said something funny while I was doing it and I’ll write down that cute little quote or that she had a major meltdown and was very tired after daycare today.

    • @21972012145525
      @21972012145525 20 дней назад

So when you "ticked off doing the dishes" was that on paper or digital? I struggle because Alot of taskS are chores/repeating and I don't want to spend time writing them down. I want them to be able to be recurring, without receiving reminders, and just "tick" them as you noted. I also don't want to pay any subscription. I also don't need a review/analysis after planning. I find that redundant for my life. Would love to hear you suggestions.

Your suggestion of processing the written content each week is the source of my question. I have been using rings lately because I like similar notes to be together. I call it commonplaceing. I don’t like doing this in notebooks because the info is not always written at the same time. So, using your suggestion, I’d transfer my written notes to my digital archive once a week, which would possibly eliminate the stress of having notes from a 10 part webinar being written across several daily notes pages? The notes are written down, but they’re digitally archived each week. They might be on pages 15-16, 19, 21, and 25, but I’m not stressed because I’m not going back through the notebook to find them on all those pages. I’m going to the archive.

planning is ❤ and fun but i can get carried away by spending more time planning instead of doing. and dont like the anxiety associated with overplanning and the struggle to actually complete a task without planning it first
