Mom will Absolutely Fall In Love with Amy’s Voice in “My Immortal” . Would be awesome to let Mom listen to My Immortal right after this Reaction to see the contrast of these 2 amazing Songs. Amy’s Voice Is Haunting Angelic. With Amy in Evanescence and Lacey Sturm in Flyleaf , the Female Fronted Bands of the 2000’s were Well Represented. Both Absolutely Amazing Singers
Amy Lee is just an amazing vocalist. "My Immortal" is just stunning, especially when you realize she is a ghost and can't touch the ground. Rock Opera!! Love them.
I'm over 50and certainly heard of this song, Here in Australia it was literally getting played everywhere via radio , in stores etc It's still a pretty good song
My daughter & I saw them in Reno the 1st tour after this song came out. We just saw them for the 3rd time with Halestorm in 2022. They have a lot of great songs. This & No Doubt were how I got her to stop torturing me with pop music. I fully supported anything rock.
I remember this song! Amy Lee has an amazing voice. She really knows how to emote. The video really reflects the lyrics. The guy pulling her out of her depression so she won’t fall. The masks kind of reminded me of that TV commercial where a woman puts a smiley face poster on a stick over her face, and says, “I’m fine.” Speaking of hair, I tried Sun-In in the summer of 1976 when I was 16. I had no desire to use it a second time. As a result, I had light brown hair in my junior high school portrait instead of my usual dark brown hair. Of course, now, there is a lot of grey in it, and it’s a lot shorter. Wow, BG, what an instant transformation when you put your hair in front of your face.
I love this song and it’s still on my playlist. Amy Lee has an amazing voice. I was 24 years old when the song came out and I was listening Evanescence album on repeat.
This song was featured in the movie "Daredevil," which is where I first discovered Evanescence. Since then, I have become a true fan of the group. The next song I heard of theirs was "My Immortal." I fell in love with Amy Lee at that time. Other great songs of theirs are "Lithium," "Snow White Queen," and "Call Me When You're Sober." I really enjoy your reactions and look forward to more Evanescence.
Sadly I've missed Amy Lee together with Within Temptation in Hamburg just last month (Dec 7, 2022). I was really curious. Has anyone in here seen her on her tour?
The band's lead guitarist Ben Moody and keyboard player David Hodges wrote this song with lead singer Amy Lee. Moody said: "'Bring Me To Life' is about discovering something or someone that awakens a feeling inside them that they've never had before. You discover there is a world that is bigger than just your safe bubble." Thank you both for reacting to this 🤗
An amazing song by an incredible band. I fell in love with Amy Lee as soon as I saw this video and heard her voice. They have so many other great songs, 'Going Under' - 'Everybody's Fool' 'Immortal' 'Call Me When Your Sober' I look forward to seeing you react to more from these guys. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I think you and your mom would like The Game is Over. It is probably my favorite Evanescence song. It is one of their newer songs. The bass lines and drum fills are super tight and some of the best work I've heard from them.
I think Mom would enjoy the video for "Everybody's Fool." Always said, if (God forbid) Amy didn't have that voice, she'd still be a star as an actress.
This is one of the songs most compared to Ghost Love Score, by people unfamiliar with Euro symphonic metal. Amy Lee is still a superstar, check her out with Wagakki Band and with Korn (esp on "Freak on a Leash"). "Bring Me to Life" has a mild version of the character of a "beauty and the beast" metal track, with the contrasting female soprano and male baritone lines. Devin Townsend and Anneke van Giersbergen collaborating also evoke a lot of this same feeling vocally imho.
The live version with the Wagakki band is the best Do yourself and listen to i if you have the time. Rock and traditional Oriental; just beautiful. But I love this video. Verry Wuthering Heights. And lost (well... we all lost loved ones too early)
She was in love with a friend who didn't see her in that way, and her life was like a recurring nightmare of coming close (climbing a building to get to him), but falling as he would never bring her inside. She did end up marrying the guy, and they have a boy.
65-year-old male saw this 2003. I've got it on VHS, movie title Daredevil. The video was with that movie. To me it's always sounding like somebody crying out for help, living in a fog. For me it's a hard one to listen to. But thank you for reacting to this one and it's been grand. Y'all have a good one bye
As someone who grew up in the seventies there were a number of really powerful female rock vocalists. Two of which were Ann Wilson of Heart and Annie Haslam of Renaissance. The first time I heard Amy Lee it reminded me of those two.
Evanescence ALMOST walked away from a recording contract because the label demanded the rap portion with this song (originally it was not part of the song). The band walked out and drove all the way home and thought it over before returning the next week and grudgingly accepting the terms.
Actually the demand they walked away from was adding a rapper to the band to sing on most of their songs. Having a guest rapper in just the one song was the compromise they agreed to.
I got a chuckle out of the "modern" remark- this song is 20 years old now! My daughter was 13 when this came out. Seems like yesterday that Paramore and Evanescence were blaring from her bedroom.😢
when your younger if a song ticks all the boxes then that's all that matters I also love some songs now more than I did then cos I see the whole picture !!
Now that you have done this, you should check out the version with Amy Lee and The Waggaki Band. They are a Japanese Folk Metal band. The use a lot of traditional instruments. It is awesome 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The key to listening to bands like this is to have a great music system. There are a lot of nuances to her voice and the music that you just can't catch without great sound. I agree with Jan Fazzone, you must listen to My Immortal. They have a lot of great songs, including some much more recently.
I have to bump the comments for more Evanescence, "My Immortal" is both haunting and beautiful (both the music and the video), another amazing video is "Call Me When You're Sober" (definitely watch the official video). Going Under, Lithium... pretty much anything, really.
I recommend this song in live version by japanese band Wagakki Band (wagakki means traditional japanese instruments, they mixed traditional japanese sounds with rock and metal music) feat. Amy Lee from Evanescense, there is only one live performance of this, amazing performance. :)
Again, I love your reactions. I love Evanescence, especially the song 'My Immortal' and hope you get to react to it. I do love the version by Gregorian as well. I just love the song as it does hit me in the feels every time I listen to it.
Try the version Amy did with the [ Wagakki Band ]. Wagakki means traditional Japanese Instruments, its a live performance with a full Orchestra. Wagakki Band / Bring Me To Life with Amy Lee of EVANESCENCE
I've heard 1 or 2 Evanescence songs and enjoyed them. I really hate those metal songs where all their songs use growly vocals, that's why I love Nightwish and this 1 is pretty good. Great story to music song. My original metal likes go way back to the 70's. Great reaction girls. BTW John Lennon "1968" quote on music" most bought records based on music, not lyrics"
This song was also sung by Katherine Jenkins, more classic in style, but definitely recommended. Here's a life performance together with Spellbound. link ruclips.net/video/gJh9LsOEXQI/видео.html
Great reaction to a great song 😊 Nightwish's answer to asking someone how they really are behind the mask How's The Heart? ruclips.net/video/yYtkPpFYzOo/видео.html
Fun fact Amy Lee didn't want a rapper in the band. But her label wanted to hire a male vocalist to sing in all her songs but eventually Amy and the label came to a compromise that he only has to do one song and it was Bring Me To Life
Being a fan of Amy Lee, you both would enjoy Halestorm with the song Break In featuring Amy Lee. Two excellent vocalists! ruclips.net/video/OUuVReJSrc4/видео.html&feature=shares
I enjoyed most of the Evanescene singles when they came out but didn’t investigate them beyond that. Grunge all sounded a bit same to me. Amy Lee certainly has a great voice
Not many female vocalists in metal. Tell me you grew up in North America without telling me you grew up in North America! Joking aside I love the song and nostalia as I grew up same time but with internet had already found Nightwish, Within Temptation, Leaves Eyes, Lacuna Coil and many others.
Dreamy Amy and her pure voice is captivating, on a par with Floor Jenson from Nightwish! Like you, this was on my playlist and was belted out at every opportunity (even though I was around 50 at the time). Great interpretation of the lyrics. This was sung by a contestant on Britain's Got Talent who came out of a coma after suffering a traumatic event. Very emotional for everyone including the judges! Another great reaction and analysis. By the way, you both have beautiful hair! Take care.
Amy Lee gets kudos for having a great voice until people witness Floor Jansen sing Ghost Love Score. Many reactors say GLS reminds them of Amy Lee when they start listening but by the end somewhat change their tune.
hi..maybe you are ready to know Lovebites..try to react to a song like "a frozen serenade" or "epilogue" for first to introduce you to a best heavy metal band i nevere see in my life ( and i'm a 61 metal head ) have a nice day
What a lazy way to describe Evanescence as a “metal” band. I’m tipping you don’t really know their music but you only know this one song and perhaps My Immortal. They are alt Rock if you want to put a label on them but even that is probably not right. Amy Lee is an absolute legend their last album “The Bitter Truth” shows the depth of her song writing. I’m your mums generation and they are my favourite band of all time, the whole goth, angst teen thing about Evanescence worked with their early stuff but they are so much more now.
Mom will Absolutely Fall In Love with Amy’s Voice in “My Immortal” . Would be awesome to let Mom listen to My Immortal right after this Reaction to see the contrast of these 2 amazing Songs. Us that grew up in the 60's and 70's dig Evanescence too!!! lol
Amy Lee is just an amazing vocalist. "My Immortal" is just stunning, especially when you realize she is a ghost and can't touch the ground. Rock Opera!! Love them.
And singing about death of a loved one and not a relationship that ended (but can be listened as such).
I'm over 50and certainly heard of this song, Here in Australia it was literally getting played everywhere via radio , in stores etc
It's still a pretty good song
Oh my teenage years
You might like the song "Wait"by Gyan released in Australia 1989

I literally stared at your mom's face, she is so expressive and I am glad she enjoyed this one.
I love this song and it’s still on my playlist. Amy Lee has an amazing voice. I was 24 years old when the song came out and I was listening Evanescence album on repeat.
Regardless of what generation you're from, Amy's voice is amazingly good.
Hey Girls! I LOVE this! I went to their concert just 2 months ago :-) They did this one too of course :)
Amy has such an amazing voice!!!
I was late 20's when this came out. I loved all her songs.
This song was featured in the movie "Daredevil," which is where I first discovered Evanescence. Since then, I have become a true fan of the group. The next song I heard of theirs was "My Immortal." Also mom is right Evanescence does have an epic feel
I love Amy Lee. I love Evanescence and I love your hair (3 out of 3) lol
The guy singing is Paul McCoy from the band 12 Stones which had some really great songs. Broken, The Way I Feel, Crash just to name a few.
The band's lead guitarist Ben Moody and keyboard player David Hodges wrote this song with lead singer Amy Lee. This song always gets to me and I'm from the classic rock and 80s metal eras.
Love the Song!
she,s falling to her death and she just keeps on singing, what a pro. lol
Excellent reaction

Makes me laugh ( in a nice way of course ) that your mother looks and dresses more Metal on every reaction you make, absolutely love it 🤘🤘
As someone who grew up in the seventies there were a number of really powerful female rock vocalists.
Two of which were Ann Wilson of Heart and Annie Haslam of Renaissance. The first time I heard Amy Lee it reminded me of those two.
you can't go wrong with the glorious voice of Amy Lee
I enjoyed your reaction to this song. Mom may enjoy some Linkin Park (Crawling, In the End).

Inzwischen bereits ein echter Klassiker...
Welcome "back." Gaps!

Thanks a lot for your Great Reaction!
Could you please react to Evanescence more?
Everybody's fool,
Like you,
Lithium.
I like this song! Thanks for helping me get out of a gloomy mood!
We hope you’re doing better now Jeff!
I love Amy Lee she has a great voice and she is a GODDESS
If you're interested, Chris Daughtry did an excellent cover of this song for the soundtrack of "The Passion: New Orleans" TV special.
when your younger if a song ticks all the boxes then that's all that matters

Take a lot of napkings and react to My Immortal) but my favorite is Going Under (especially accoustic live)
The male backup vocals is the frontman for the Christian group 12 Stones.

Wagakki Band / Bring Me To Life with Amy Lee of EVANESCENCE
I like the duet Amy Lee did with Seather called Broken.
Amy Lee is so good and still releasing music so plenty for Mama gap to be introduced to 🤩🤘🎵
Also have her listen to straineay concert good enough sooooooo good
Amy basically wrote this about domestic abuse, her now husband inspired this song because as a friend he recognized where she was at
BTW: That's quite impressive juwelry on "Mom". Art Deco? Or is it some kind of Native style?
CIAO RAGAZZE, GRAZIE TANTE.
BUONPOMERIGGIO E SE VEDETE LA MYA TIRATELE I CAPELLI, FATE PIANO PERÒ.

Amy Lee's vocals are INSANE. You guys MUST do My Immortal next.
Oh, how we love Amy Lee!

Speaking of female-fronted metal bands have you heard Jinjer? If not, defo try out Pisces... Tatiana has an amazing voice
Have you ever listened to Deftones or A Perfect Circle? Two incredible alt metal bands. Worth checking out
Great reaction to a great song 😊

Hi, Can you do a reaction to the Japanese rock band Wagakki band with Amy Lee Live " Bring Me To Life " . Please. You will be amazed.
Fun fact Amy Lee didn't want a rapper in the band. But her label wanted to hire a male vocalist to sing in all her songs but eventually Amy and the label came to a compromise that he only has to do one song and it was Bring Me To Life
If you can listen to Amy Lee and not get goosebumps you need to go to the ER because there’s a good chance you have no pulse.
Being a fan of Amy Lee, you both would enjoy Halestorm with the song Break In featuring Amy Lee. Two excellent vocalists!

I wonder if you have listened to Jason Mraz sing Lucky
I enjoyed most of the Evanescene singles when they came out but didn’t investigate them beyond that. Grunge all sounded a bit same to me. Amy Lee certainly has a great voice

Sorry, but Amy wouldn't make a good pimple on Floor Jansen's ass. My personal opinion. Your opinion was Amy is on par with Floor Jansen.
Amy Lee gets kudos for having a great voice until people witness Floor Jansen sing Ghost Love Score. Many reactors say GLS reminds them of Amy Lee when they start listening but by the end somewhat change their tune.

Evanescence is no Floor. See not exciting.
Sorry, but I'll take Storytime from Nightwish and Floor Jansen anytime over this. Besides that, Amy Lee is too short, no stage presence.
The 12 Stones + Amy Lee = Evanescence.
