  • This winter solstice, the longest night of the year, we are thinking about owls.
Julie and I are planners. We like to think ahead for any projects we do on the homestead. This includes working out the details and anticipating potential pitfalls.
One of the things we are hoping to add to the homestead is chickens. We know the feed is going to attract mice and rats.
So we are going to need some rodent control.
The first thing most people think of for that job is cats. Our solution is a little different. We are going to try attracting barn owls.
In our video this week I talk more about this solution and unbox a barn owl box kit.
