TBP best audience in music media right now!!!! We're dropping LIVE every Saturday at 10am pst / 1pm est - join us in the chat next week. Appreciate you all making this show what it is becoming! Send this to someone who would love the convo and let's keep building. And remember if you want to listen on audio we're on Apple and Spotify (link in description). Also, TBP comment section needs a name - what do y'all want to be called as a community? List some suggestions below lol.
Do a top 10 list of all time rappers next episode @jeremyhecht
@@Shawn-o2qyou’re gonna get exactly 2 lists haha 😂
Wayne's verse on "beat without bass" is slept on.
When are we doing a live show with the audience ?
@@Shawn-o2qby region
DJ Hed brings such a special element to the conversation. From the west coast lore to him protecting his relationships but still sharing where he can. It's really cool to see all of you bringing such different views to the show and having a discussion without it becoming an argument with no compromise or fun. The internet has become such a bitter negative place, this show reminds me it doesn't have to be that way.
love
Well put cuz some how I always end up here for the conversation way back in the crowd 😅
Right! This pod really is wholesome just like they said. 💯
Being a part of this show has been one of the most fun things I've done in my career so far and I'm so thankful for the audience we have. TBP community is funny, smart and loves to keep it about the music! We got some great validation from some legends this week so hopefully we can keep taking it to the next level!
💯💯💯💯💯
Best podcast in the industry right now. "KEEP GOING" - DJ KHALID
🤘🤘🤘🤘
I love the white boy Jeremy!!! Keep doing your thing!! Love the dynamic and chemistry of the show. Always good vibes.
Despite Elliott changing his top three every week without any justification, I feel this pod has more integrity and substance. How is Elliott putting drake at two when he is consistently putting out crap..... there is a story there!!!! And we want the Tea
My new favorite pod that I never saw coming, I was familiar with Elliott, somewhat familiar with Jeremy and only discovered Hed in the midst of the beef, but man, what a combo. Each of you bring value in a major way
Thanks for the words and glad you found us!!!!!
Y’all give Drake to much credit! Who has ever seen or heard how Drake cook up on the lab? I never heard anyone talk about Drake recording process. Or even seen videos of his process!
You can find a lot if you take one minute googling Drake recording
This is VERY true!
Drake at top 3 all time is fucking nasty work
Good thing he just dropped everything you’re looking for
@@bigmo3692 he probably saw OP’s comment.. you gotta know he’s a lurker here lol
I look forward to each episode. Love the chemistry of the team. Great work fellas.
You guys did Jeremy dirty😂😂
DJ Hed with the PgLAng shirt!! 😂😂
Dj gives hed
😂 West Coast...a must outside
How is everybody feeling???? We're back for another week. Thank you guys for the continued support, we're just getting started.
👏🏽🫶🏽
maybe I missed it but when yall talk about the asap album please mention those wack ass bars he sent at Drake. Drake lost to dot…and washed everyone else. He absolutely lost the Kendrick but these other guys riding Dot’s coattails to a win. They signed their name on the project and got an A that Kendrick earned. Respect to Metro and Future. But them other guys….weak af.
Feeling like Elliot should stop riding Jay, Nas number 1 and has been for a while
Nas above Jay I left a comment explaining why I just don’t feel like writing it again 🤣
I just searched for this.
@ 1:40:14- Jeremy invites Dj Hed to go to Toronto with him, Jeremy seems genuinely hurt lol at be rejected to pull up with him got me dying lol🤣Jeremy's, - " that's so mean"!! Got to love the honesty and dynamics of this show! I

"Rory is a great white man" 😂😂😂 YALL KILLED THIS EPISODEEEEEEEEE. I think yall got that chemistry now. I died this whole vid. Thank you for doing this for the people!!!
Thanks for watching!!!!
Like I said, the show keeps getting better. It’s quality material that makes you think about your relationship with hip hop. They used the word “substance” in this episode and it gave me so much clarity. It’s why I don’t know as much about the newer generation. The push to care more about the vibes than what’s being said led to me not being invested in the culture. I liked what I liked and kept it moving. I love that the battle has made me reinvest in my relationship with the genre and there’s shows like this one to help.
Wow that's amazing and well said! Yes
I haven't laughed this hard all year as I have at the Hed & Jeremy exchange about drake and the Central C GenZluv song 😭😭😭
😂😂😂😂😂
Love how real Hed was with showing insecurity when he realized he just fd up BAD 😅
@@tmazor1575yeah because he just had given the opps the blueprint lol 😂
@@royalty_the1892no, that’s not why.
The Bigger Picture!!! It took me soooo long to finish this episode because i kept stopping to play some of the songs referenced. I’m on my 4th replay of Steady Mobbin as we speak! Keep the heat coming!
Wait… you need some Wayne classics under the radar?
@@DC00P lol no. I know the music but just haven’t played the songs in a while. Nostalgic
@@SoulUniQ gotcha lol
We gotta make playlists for each episode lol
@@hiphopdxyes! And don’t forget us over on Tidal!
This episode had me in stitches. Especially the DJ Hed Jeremy Hecht interactions. Pretending not to know the Tupac album and the cap exchange was priceless.
The lists stuff needs to be clearer about whether you're talking all time or current. You might want to do all-time top 5 by region. I'm saying this because it seems West Coast rap still gets slept on a bit in these conversations even though you do have DJ Hed representing. Then also do maybe an underground vs. mainstream top 5 list. Also specify what criteria is being used because numbers is a Pop music gauge.
DJ Hed's Joe Budden impression is actually so good lmao
Yeeeeahh boii, Saturdays are for The Bigger Picture
TBP Saturday's has a ring to it lol
I use to HATE Elliott's laugh...kinda love it now 😂😂❤. Good job fellas!!! Look forward to Saturday morning for this!
See you next Saturday!!
AND WE'RE BACK!!!!!
I love the chemistry between you three. Your convo flows seamlessly. Love it.
I’m white and like Jermey from Canada but from the actual cool/ good part of Ontario, the real South Detroit (shoutout Windsor-Essex County) but my introduction to hip hop was like Hedds West Coast, my older cousin had me all up on Pac and NWA by grade 1, I need to know why none of yall got Pac as your #1 - he is the most versatile writer of all time regardless of genre has music for whatever mood you’re in, the work ethic was unmatched and unlike Drake he doesn’t just produce quantity it’s all quality as well,
DRAKE CAN NOT BE TOP3 when there are confirmed accusations of other artists writing the bulk of tracks on some of his best projects
The Last Part Of This With Head Interrogating Jeremy Hilarious 😂
@@SouthernBoi94 😂😂😂😂

Sent Elliott & Fabolous my album early. Elliott blocked me and Fab promoted it when it dropped. Feels like the reverse journalist version of Fab slamming the door on Hed 🤣

@@hiphopdx Much love ya’ll. Truly enjoy the show.
I love having Hed’s perspective! I love how he handle shit w respect whether he agree or not
Man I love the Bigger Pictures, shoutout Elliot & DJ Head 😂
Best Music convos out there
Facts!
Ice Spice is not a artist. She's a IG model/influencer. We knew this. She got the same girly drill flow on every song. She can barely perform outside of throwing it in a circle.
Y’all are absolutely benefitting from people wanting real shit… great takes from all 3 hosts. Efficient conversation
Thanks for watching!!!!
"What is Ice Spice like 20" meanwhile she's 24yro! She's a grown woman. Nas wrote Illmatic at 17/18 years old. Lil Wayne was spitting fire as a teenager. Tupac passed at 25yro but his catalog sounds like he lived until he was 80yrs old. STOP with the excuses to justify mediocrity. Ice Spice level of "talent" is azz shaking music for the slow yellow bus riders. She just released a debut album and have 50 million songs and collaborations and she gives us nothing but mediocrity.
Damn. I couldn't have said it any better myself. I was thinking the same thing as DJ Hed was saying that
Yeah Hed trippin.
I agree with Elliott about the younger rappers tapping in with Classic Hip-Hop albums- especially folks like Yachty, who insist on doing podcasts and chatty interviews. I understand DJ Hed's point of view because that was the reality, especially before the streaming era.
Hed was roasting Jeremy 😂😂😂
Now I need to see a guest on here!!! Bigger picture 🙌🏽

LOL
I completely disagree with yall about something yall said. It should be mandatory for people who say they are rappers to understand legendary Hip Hop. How you supposed to be a MC and you never heard classic rap albums? If you just heard Blueprint I don't wanna hear you say nothing on a mic.
I agree new rappers should be aware but who would be the gatekeeper of making it mandatory? There isn’t an entrance exam to be a rapper lol
I just think that the emcees that put the hours in on studying the craft, then find their own voice to release their art will outlast the rappers that don't. Substance was a great word used in this episode that separates those that put the work in from those that ride a wave in.
I wonder if Jeremy knows he’s the token white guy of the show 😂😂😂 I’m going back to recording now. Y’all stay smooth. 💙🤝💯
This Jeremy bit takes me out every fuckin week 🤣
Us too lmao
LOL walking back the Drake Gen Z love album🤣
LMAO
40:42 I think ones love for rap should compel them to go back and listen to classics.

Comparing Megan Thee Stallion to Ice Spice is crazy. Megan twerks but she is a great lyricist, she made “Cobra” which was very introspective about her experience of surviving intimate partner violence and unwarranted persecution by the media. Her whole Traumazine album was introspective on these topics as well while awaiting the start and conclusion of Tory’s trial. Megan also will free style in a heartbeat, watch some of her videos of her free-styling. And she is an excellent dancer. Ice Spice just now started adding a two step to her twerks at the BET awards this year. Her looks get her by a lot. I don’t hate her, but I don’t think she would be signed if she was dark skinned and built like Coi Leraye. Unfortunately.
Jeremy being Dj Heds OG in Toronoto is legendary. Thank you Dj Hed for bringing flowers to the Mexicans
Love this show.. Great job ya’ll
Thank you!!!!
Jeremy is such a great bridge between Hed and Elliott
Another Great Episode 👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
They edited Elliott's laugh out of the audio. THANK GOD!!!!
That n-word segment had me dying

Lil Wayne introduced me to international hip hop
So glad Jeremy mentioned Wayne’s verse on MAD. Added to that album’s potpourris.
Elliot reading out the transcript of his eulogy is crazy 😂😂😂
Best Hip-Hop show on air in 2024.
This show will be special imo. Great topics and commentary. Really starting to become a fan of this group
The Kendrick version of “All My Life” exists it’s on RUclips and I actually heard that version first during the blog era days DJ Hed. It’s not a secret lol
“Sitting on the block and I’m doing bad, dreaming bout the things that I never had….”
Loving the show but Elliott wait your turn bruh lol
True. He does step in on the other hosts finishing their thoughts on a given subject, a lot.
38:46 It's not unreasonable to expect a hip hop artist to listen to the albums uniformly acclaimed as classic. You all love giving these kids passes.
Here from figgmunity Jeremy you got a fan 💯
This pod is dope, shots out from da souf. And Hed, Jeremy gonna slip one day… watch 😂

I respect Elliott for keeping cool but he could’ve cooked Charlamagne. Don’t forget Charla started with Wendy.. bro the OG in the gossip space not Hip Hop.
On the idea of 'studying' hip hop, and what level of knowledge should be expected, I liken it to being a boxer. Sure, some dudes can just come in off the street, and maybe take a few matches, and make a couple bucks, but if you wanna go far you need to watch footage, and study the greats. Having a better grasp of the history of your sport makes you a more well rounded athlete. No one is going to luck into having the natural raw talent of Ali, or Tyson. You have to put in the work.
People want to see those at the top of any scene, be it sports, music, art, acting, to be serious about it. Do you need to watch the Godfather to make a great movie? No, obviously, but you should still watch it because it's an important moment for the medium that contextualizes the moment you're currently in.
Who side r u on Dj hed
I have absolutely no problem with whatever time Kendrick needs to drop a new album cause 1) Hes given us 4 incredible songs and a fire feature this year already 2) MMATBS was only 2 years ago 3) i know whenever it does drop, it will have 'substance' which is what yall were emphasising
I just watched a clip within a show. And in that clip, it was a show watching a clip about the show
One of Wayne’s best featured verses was on Reakwons song “My corner”. Hands down. Don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard the verse but please look it up.
Hed’s point about Artist development is real
