I love this film. I first learned about William Walker on a trip to Costa Rica. It fascinates me that their national villain is so forgotten by the nation that spawned him.
I remember watching this movie expecting an extremely tasteless action flick that glorified Walker's campaign, mainly due to the bitchin poster. What followed were the strangest 94 minutes of my life.
I have to recommend the entire score/soundtrack of the movie. The job was offered to Joe Strummer right after the clash broke up. It was filmed on site in Nicaragua and Joe poured his heart into the music. The unknown immortal, Tennessee rain, and filobustero are Fn awesome songs.
Watched this film yesterday and found myself pretty disengaged, yet I didn't have much trouble finishing it. I think the script was just a bit poor, but the setting and performances were pretty good. Great review!
"disengaged" is a good word, I think. I watched it with a friend and he was totally checked out. I think usually when you get really bored with a movie, that's a result of structure Thanks for sharing!

This movie went way over the heads of the fools in Hollywood . It crazy to think what Alex cox could have accomplished if he had financial backing.
