    there are plenty of after market parts to fit, so far i have fitted - crg adjustable levers, akropavich exhaust, r&g frame sliders rear cowl and radiator guard. i'm the other side of 60 come back to biking - which my wife isn't happy about - but i am! great reviews mark, always watch them!

    The original 350LC was only 47 hp and that turned out to be a quite popular bike ! If only people judged bikes by their fun factor not how much HP they have.

    • @ifrit35
      @ifrit35 2 года назад

      When the Rdlc 350 launched the fastest thing on the road was what? A GS 1000 probably with 90hp. In today's market a 110 HP would be your average road bike while a sports bike makes over 200 ponies so yeah, it still checks out.
      I do agree with you that we get caught on spec sheets and numbers unfortunately. The 500cc Honda lineup surprised me so much that I bought a rebel 500 though. I don't even think that 45 HP is particularly slow, it just seems adequate on the road.

    I love the way you always find the best qualities of all the bikes you review. So many of us watch these videos, hoping for reassurance that we are making the right decision when ready to buy. To that point, there are many reviewers that do the opposite , leaving us all with distaste.
    I think all motorcycles are beautiful in a sense, and it’s refreshing to know that when we arrive at one of your reviews, we can expect a positive experience with a touch of levity!

    This was my first bike before jumping on the 650R.
    The only fault in a year of ownership, all season riding, and 10.000km were the OEM tyres.
    The Dunlop sportmax d222(?) is a plastic deathtrap in/on anything but warm, fresh asphalt.
    Change that and the bike is amazing, easy to handle, agile in the city and comfortable for multi-hour tours.
    If I didn't find an excellent deal on a trade-in for the 650 I'd still be enjoying the hell out of this!

    • @paxas03
      @paxas03 3 года назад

      That's my plan. Getting cbr500r as first bike and if I feel the need to upgrade later and get a good trade for it, I may get the 650r for that sweet 4 cylinder engine sound.

    • @Valks-22
      @Valks-22 3 года назад

      @@paxas03 you'll love it, 500 is a perfect start.
      My CBR650R is an absolutely perfect bike, except, two-up long distance touring. Another 1000km and my gf will kill me so I have to go somewhere heavier and comfier for the pillion. If budget allowed I'd keep this thing forever but for the moment I have to sell my Honda share :(

    I had 2018 cbr500 for one year, I have upgraded it to 2019 ninja 636 week ago. Its good little bike but its not really supersport (only by looks) more like sports tourer. Compared to my ninja 636 it feels like a toy. With that said its good begginer bike its comfortable goodlooking and wellmade. For some1 who is looking for a first or even a second bike or comfy bike with power that wont scare you and sport looks I can recommend.

    Engine on these are great for normal riding but the suspension
    if you like really riding hard can give a few arse clenching moments!!. R3 and the kawasaki definitely give more sensation of thrash and handle a bit better but only flat out!. The honda is definitely the sports tourer option. R3 definitely has the smoothest engine though!. All are good pick a colour lol!!.

    As always great reviews. I am thinking about one of these, wanted a Kawi z650 of Vulcan S but I went to dealer and feel for the CBR500R as soon as I sat on it and with a Commute getting over 70mpg is needed! I did sit on the Rebel 500 is alright a bit low for me and then I sat on the CB500F and I was cramped up. I think CBR500R is going to be the bike I go with unless I find a smashing deal on a Ninja650 or z650. Maybe I get one of those later for a weekend bike!

    Hi Mark, loved the video and review. I was just thinking the weight of the bike and cost brand new is a little expensive. For just 2k cheaper you can pick up a ninja 400 weighing in a lot less. Do You feel a cbr 500 is a fat ninja 400? Even an R3 would also be a good choice. IMO if I can pick up a cbr500 for round about 4k I'd be happy with that.... I liked and subbed.

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  2 года назад +1

      Hi yes the ninja 400 is lighter something like 168 kg vs the cbr 192 kg but I think the new price is similar for both of them here in the UK...I didn't feel that the cbr felt heavy ...if you can get a ninja alot cheaper then yes Id definitely get one ...they are both very good 👍

For example, the Manfrotto BeFree series tripods come with a bag that you can carry around your back while riding. They are also small enough to fit a 30-35 liter backpack. Also, is there any chance to use an external gps device (like tomtom or garmin) on the Honda cb500r? Safe trips and all the best!

    Leaning towards going to get one of these CBR500R’s for fun since the Yamaha Tracer 700 is not available in the U.S. I do like the engine in the Yamaha Tracer 700 more than the Triple in the Tracer 900. I am retired and located in the Northwest part of the city close to the country and some kind of boring country roads. I would have to ride on the interstate freeway or motorway for a short bit to get to the country roads. Bmw and Harley dealers allow test drives, but the Japanese bike dealers and big Motorsport dealers do not. Any curvy or slightly hilly country side is about 150 to 180 miles away. But I still want a motorcycle just to ride around the neighborhood and the nearby country side for fun as a past time while my wife is at work during the week. I am not prejudiced as to brand or type of bike. I enjoy something that does not have a snatchy, or surging, or abrupt on off throttle. I am a returning rider.
