Excellent ideas Adam, but how about they made Bret invade WWF and call Vince out for a street fight for the first 60 days. Then one day he (shoot) stalks Vince back to Titan Towers and starts whipping him and beating him until he's unconscious in a puddle of blood? With Hart wearing a mask and nothing filmed nobody knows what happened, and Vince is too proud to call an investigation or press charges. Next he hires the marines who jumped Shawn Michaels (or similar people) to destroy HBK in the street outside his house. This works two fold as HBK slumps into more of his party lifestyle and stays the cool HBK that was such a fun person rather than the very dull Christian man with the glass eye we see today. Eventually (offering crazy money to fuel his party lifestyle and other things such as a run as leader of NWO) cool Shawn Michaels joins WCW and rips it up with Bret before both become pals again (Kayfabe), Then BOTH stalk Vince (HBK's so off his tits that he goes along with the plan as if he's a zombie) and beat him with whips - "like a government mule" as JR would say!!! With Vince now kidnapped and tied to a cross on Nitro, Bischoff, Shawn and Bret act shocked that this dishevelled WWF owner is in their arena. Vince, the proud man he is, refuses to conduct an investigation. Vince is kept in WCW for a month and brainwashed into signing a 1 year deal. He loses via screwjob to Bret, and finally loses a "weekend with your wife" match with Eric Bischoff. Bischoff impresses Linda McMahon so much with his skills between the sheets that he ends up stealing her away from Vince. Eventually Stephanie McMahon likes what she sees and steals him from her mother (ties into the Bischoff/Steph kiss that went nowhere.) HHH marries Chyna, she wins the WWF world title for 1 day, he has a great career without burying people. Chyna and Trips live into their 90's as smitten during those final days as the first time their eyes met fully across a pec deck machine. WCW continues to run well, with WWF keeping the name as a humble Vince understands not to take it too far with the logos and so forth - WWE is never the name of the federation & they don't make terrible movies. Finally, with the families and leaders intertwined (Vince hooks up with Rebecca who therefore never becomes HBK's Nitro Girl wife/Yoko Ono) the talent trades are easy and the novelty of Goldberg in one off WWF PPV matches or Steve Austin at Starrcade never wears thin. That's how Gregory's Goals would book it better than Adam!!!

Good stuff! Its amazing how well things work when you just book around real life. Knowing the plan upfront helps but I think the fans in the moment would HATE some of this especially with those losses to Hogan. You'd be fighting a lot of fan backlash in the hopes that they stick with you to the final victory.

Didn't Goldberg plow through close to 200 guys on his way to the championship? Many of them would probably be thankful to be freed from their role as NWO cannon fodder number 5 and to get a chance at new storylines where they could actually get over...
Sting was pretty skinny around Starrcade 97. Not out of shape but no were near as ripped as he was even in his late surfer days, as was said before he was battling a lot of personal demons around this time.
Regardless of Sting's circumstances the match was built as nWo finally getting their comeuppance. Hogan should have just swallowed his ego and done the business even if he just then won the title back the next month.

Bret Hart wrestled Jim Neidhart many times during the Hart Attack Tour in the Fall of 1994. I saw them wrestle each other at the Meadowlands, two nights before the match at MSG that you spoke of.
Oh there's nothing that could've made that better. Unlike today, Miz didn't have NEAR the mic skills back then, or the in-ring talent, even though he was decent. He was just your standard cocky heel champion, his reign lasted too long, and most of it is forgettable.
I think now is the good time for the Miz to go for the world title. He's got so much heel heat that hasn't been seen since HHH in the AE, and he's improved a lot. Back then, he was too green and it was too soon to put the top strap on him.

Excellent ideas Adam, but how about they made Bret invade WWF and call Vince out for a street fight for the first 60 days. Then one day he (shoot) stalks Vince back to Titan Towers and starts whipping him and beating him until he's unconscious in a puddle of blood?
With Hart wearing a mask and nothing filmed nobody knows what happened, and Vince is too proud to call an investigation or press charges.
Next he hires the marines who jumped Shawn Michaels (or similar people) to destroy HBK in the street outside his house.
This works two fold as HBK slumps into more of his party lifestyle and stays the cool HBK that was such a fun person rather than the very dull Christian man with the glass eye we see today.
Eventually (offering crazy money to fuel his party lifestyle and other things such as a run as leader of NWO) cool Shawn Michaels joins WCW and rips it up with Bret before both become pals again (Kayfabe),
Then BOTH stalk Vince (HBK's so off his tits that he goes along with the plan as if he's a zombie) and beat him with whips - "like a government mule" as JR would say!!!
With Vince now kidnapped and tied to a cross on Nitro, Bischoff, Shawn and Bret act shocked that this dishevelled WWF owner is in their arena. Vince, the proud man he is, refuses to conduct an investigation.
Vince is kept in WCW for a month and brainwashed into signing a 1 year deal. He loses via screwjob to Bret, and finally loses a "weekend with your wife" match with Eric Bischoff.
Bischoff impresses Linda McMahon so much with his skills between the sheets that he ends up stealing her away from Vince. Eventually Stephanie McMahon likes what she sees and steals him from her mother (ties into the Bischoff/Steph kiss that went nowhere.)
HHH marries Chyna, she wins the WWF world title for 1 day, he has a great career without burying people. Chyna and Trips live into their 90's as smitten during those final days as the first time their eyes met fully across a pec deck machine.
WCW continues to run well, with WWF keeping the name as a humble Vince understands not to take it too far with the logos and so forth - WWE is never the name of the federation & they don't make terrible movies.
Finally, with the families and leaders intertwined (Vince hooks up with Rebecca who therefore never becomes HBK's Nitro Girl wife/Yoko Ono) the talent trades are easy and the novelty of Goldberg in one off WWF PPV matches or Steve Austin at Starrcade never wears thin.
That's how Gregory's Goals would book it better than Adam!!!

Good stuff! Its amazing how well things work when you just book around real life. Knowing the plan upfront helps but I think the fans in the moment would HATE some of this especially with those losses to Hogan. You'd be fighting a lot of fan backlash in the hopes that they stick with you to the final victory.

Yeah, that's Hogan all right.
Sting was pretty skinny around Starrcade 97. Not out of shape but no were near as ripped as he was even in his late surfer days, as was said before he was battling a lot of personal demons around this time.
Regardless of Sting's circumstances the match was built as nWo finally getting their comeuppance. Hogan should have just swallowed his ego and done the business even if he just then won the title back the next month.
Dont agree with Hogan being the last guy. Makes no sense. 1 person isnt a stable. Should have left it at Hall, Nash and Hogan.

Bret Hart wrestled Jim Neidhart many times during the Hart Attack Tour in the Fall of 1994. I saw them wrestle each other at the Meadowlands, two nights before the match at MSG that you spoke of.

Oh there's nothing that could've made that better. Unlike today, Miz didn't have NEAR the mic skills back then, or the in-ring talent, even though he was decent. He was just your standard cocky heel champion, his reign lasted too long, and most of it is forgettable.
I think now is the good time for the Miz to go for the world title. He's got so much heel heat that hasn't been seen since HHH in the AE, and he's improved a lot. Back then, he was too green and it was too soon to put the top strap on him.
