Was listening to this with one ear as background noise, then story 29 happens 😂 At first I kinda assumed (since I was listening while really not listening) that it was about stretching piercings in ears. Then came the mention of splash damage and I got confused. Started listening better at that point, and it just kept getting worse and worse, but I just couldn't stop listening even though I wanted to 😂😂😂

    Stories 27 + 45: do not cover a 1st or 2nd degree burn. Don't...
    - Put ice on it
    - Put any random-ass condiments on it (you're not a sandwich)
    - Put plastic wrap, wax paper, aluminum foil, parchment paper, etc. on it (again, you're not a sandwich)
    - Put milk, butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, or eggs on it (you're not a cake, either)
    - Keep clothing or jewelry on it (unless it's sticking/stuck to the wound in which case leave it for a medical professional to remove)
    - Put sunscreen on it (that ship has sailed)
    - Put antibiotic or pain relief ointment or a bandage on it (you can revisit this later, just not right now in the immediate aftermath)
Okay, so that's a lot of what not to do. So what should you do?
Run the burned area under COOL water for AT LEAST TEN MINUTES. Again, say it with me: "COOL WATER; AT LEAST 10 MINUTES".
Not cold water. Not ice water. Not room temp/burned area body temp water. Obviously not warm or hot water. COOL WATER FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES.

When you've got a song stuck in your head, you can also think of the ending of the song to make it stop. That works pretty well too. Another good one is for headaches - you just kind of make weird faces and scrunch up your face, work your eyebrows one at a time - but basically, however you do it, just work the muscles of your face. Something about the blood flow.

Baking motherboards actually does work! I'm an IT dinosaur, and I've done this with several Commodore 64 and Apple II/e and II/c mobos, and all you're doing is warming up the solder joints so the connections are more solid. Larger boards work better than anything small, like from a phone or iPad or something.

    • @DiannaGarcia-v2b
      @DiannaGarcia-v2b 15 дней назад +1

When you bake the motherboard all you're doing is remelting the solder so it can connect all the connectors better

I love that every once in a while, humans reinvent dowsing rods despite how silly they sound. They've been in use for literally thousands of years to spot underground water sources close to the surface, and so far I've heard two stories where they're used by utilities workers to find specific dig points.

Cooking circuit boards works. I had a graphics card, old Radeon. I over heated it and ended up with micro fissures, artifacts displayed on screen and bsod when trying to use gpu.
Took off plastic bits. 400 degrees (melting point of solder) for 10 minutes, re assembled, worked like a charm.
If you ever see "refurbished" on a computer for sale, this is literally what they do to refurbish the item.

27:39 I have a cure for hiccups that requires no extra person or water. Just you. Take as deep of a breath as you can then push your stomach down and out as far as possible for as long as possible. You might hiccup which interrupts the effort, but once you are able to do it fully, the hiccups stop. It can sometimes take 2 or 3 tries but it works 100% for me, quickly.
I can be mid dinner start hiccupping, do this which takes me at most 1 minute, and go on right back to dinner without having to move from my spot or freak out. The science behind it is that hiccupping is when the diaphragm is out of sync. By breathing in deeply and pressing down it forces your lungs to 'reset' the diaphragm. Hiccups use to scare me, now they are a mere momentary annoyance.

    • @xdeathcon
      @xdeathcon 20 дней назад +1

All I do is just breathe in as much as I can and hold it for a bit. Once another hiccup comes while my lungs are completely full, it's over. It sounds like a very similar method. I guess it's because there's no room for the hiccup to pull any more air in, so it gets synced back up. I've never understood how people struggle with hiccups when the solution is so simple.

  • @memnochdd478
    @memnochdd478 20 дней назад +3

Truth be told, best way to get rid of hiccups is just put pressure on your diaphragm. All the holding breath, chugging water, belching ect are putting pressure on your diaphram. Just cutting out the middle man as it were.

Crying releases oxytocin and endorphins, which improves your mood. Everybody should cry when they feel the need. No one has to know, if you're afraid of being seen as weak by idiots, but at night, in bed, it's good to cry to help relieve stress or ease grief etc. It'll help you sleep, too, if you cry when you go to bed.
Suppressing negative emotions is bad for your health. Studies have linked repressive coping with a less resilient immune system, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and mental health conditions.
Consider crying an important part of health maintenance, like exercising or eating vegetables. Do it.

    For story 15:
that's a real vertigo treatment, actually!
Deep inside your ears, you have some small circle-shaped passages filled with fluid, rocks, and tiny little hairs. These passages, called the semicircular canals, help you balance. The rocks and fluid brush against the tiny hairs and tell your brain if you're moving and in what direction.
Sometimes, some of the rocks can get stuck somewhere, which can send a constant signal that doesn't match the rest of your body, and you feel dizzy. If they get really stuck, they need a little help repositioning. There are three main movements you can make to encourage any stuck rocks to become unstuck and settle back to their normal resting position. Sometimes it takes several tries to work, and sometimes it works right away. Back when I got vertigo, I repeated one of these motions three times and the vertigo went away completely!

For the witch wands, I use 2 bent wire coat hangars. When I do it, I have to have the wires parallel and they spread apart over the target. The funny thing is when my youngest son does it, he has to keep the wires spread apart end to end and when he walks over his target, they will come together and cross. The faster or with more force that they move, either the larger the water deposit or the shallower the well cavern. I say target(s) because I've found change, rings and other objects by walking with the rods while visualizing what I'm looking for.
My youngest son is 28 and he has heard me talk about my exploits with my witch rods but always dismissed it. We live in a mostly rural state. He used to live 100 yards down the road and at a lower elevation from his mother in law. His well was working but hers went dry from trying to fill a large above ground pool. He told his mother in law about my "talent". She told her landlord about it and the next time I went to visit, the landlord came over and offered me cash money to "witch" the property. I said no because, in my opinion, it's a God given ability, takes 5 minutes and costs me nothing so we walked up the road. My son brought a can of spray paint. I had the owner show me what area he'd prefer to drill in. I walked about a 50 Sq. Ft. area. Every place my wire split, my son sprayed an orange spot in the grass. Six spots. The owner thanked me and left. My son asked if he could try still believing that it's a bunch of shit. He found the same 6 spots and was amazed because he could feel the force moving the wires and he knew that it wasn't by his effort. He moved, his mother in law moved out of state and I never went back to see if the owner struck water before the paint spots washed away.
On opal cars holding the lock button on the key fob to open the windows. I had a 2012 Lincoln MKZ. If you hit the unlock button once, the doors unlocked. If you hit the button twice and hold the second hit for 5 seconds, it would open the front windows and crack the sunroof 2 inches to let the heat out.

I have a solution for hiccups but it's long term and probably better suited for those who have them a lot and those who suffer from really violent and painful hiccups:
take a few singing lessons and regularly sing with the proper techniques. Hiccups are involuntary contractions of your diaphragm, basically cramps. if your diaphragm is trained (achieved by singing), you're less prone to hiccups. I have them like maybe once a month and when I do, it's literally just one hiccup, that's it

1:19:07 at my old work, we would often get large boxes of frozen meats that are supposed to be sliced into slabs about 3-4 mm thick. the meat would always freeze together, making it difficult to separate those chunks of sliced meat, so the actual legitimate protocol we had for breaking up those chunks would be to take a box, lift it above your head, and throw it at the ground as hard as possible (probably not AS aggressive for most people, but i am small and have noodle arms so i had to resort to extreme measures to get the proper amount of force haha), making sure that it lands flat on its side instead of on a corner. do this once or twice for every side of the box and it would usually break everything up well enough that you won't have to break all the meat apart by hand (which was a nightmare). i ended up getting really good at throwing boxes at the ground :)

But rather than pay attention to what side the coin lands on, you notice which side you're HOPING it lands on...that's your answer. :)

It works for finding water because the rods will point downhill unless you're on perfectly flat terrain, and because you'll subconsciously point them downhill. Water is downhill, since water flows down. It doesn't work on buried pipes. At all.

Meditation gets relentlessly touted as a win win for everyone, but it's not. Even research has proven it doesn't work for everyone. In some people, it can cause depression, dissociation, and other mental health issues as side effects. But the people who teach and (literally as it's a kapitalist business product at this point)sell it, often don't even know about the possible side effects, and keep pushing it on people.
Personally, meditation makes me angry and anxious.
And lot's of people like to tell me that means I'm "doing it wrong", but I've tried it multiple times, with an open mind and professional guidance.
Mindfulness has turned into kapitalist spirituality at this point, with believers who can be as relentless and judgemental as fundamentalist religions.

Here's my tip to you all: Have no idea how you are feeling and are struggling to check your mood? You'll enjoy this.
close your eyes and draw on a piece of paper or digital art program, drawing in the direction that feels right and changing direction when you get the impulse to do so. If your lines are smooth and your turns are curved, you are in a positive mood. If your lines are wobbly and your turns are jagged, you are in a negative mood.
PS, the more jagged the lines, the more negative the mood you are in.
PS PS. I am a digital artist, and whenever I make an artwork using this technique, I call it a "blind dream" artwork, so I call this the "blind dream" technique.

For hiccups, stretch your torso, breathe in as deep as you possibly can, and hold your breath for as long as you can. Individually these techniques may have some amount of success rate, but combined my success rate is 100% within a matter of seconds. It works best if you lay on a bed with your head hanging off the edge for maximum torso stretching. Any kind of solution involving drinking water can make it worse for those whose hiccups stem from or are aggravated by overconsumption (yes, even water). The only downside is this may result in feeling lightheaded or with stuff neck/upper back muscles.
If you get hair dye or permanent marker on a countertop or other surface, hand sanitizer will get it right out. It might take a few tries and you might need to soak it if it's been there for a bit, but it will come out eventually.

Reading all of the solutions for hiccups and felt I needed to add mine. They all sound a little too time consuming if you will lol.
Fill your mouth with a big gulp of water. Take both thumbs and plug your ears and your pinky's and plug your nose. Swallow water and release at the same time. Hiccups gone. Only takes a second and the only thing you need is water!
Oh, and I think we all could have went the rest of our lives NOT seeing story 29! There's no way in hell I'm shi**ing on myself to silence farts!!

snorting is completely different from sniffing, you wouldn't get any pepper up your nose unless you tried to.

Love this channel. Hope it's not AI-voiced.

I realized AI when describing doing work with solder (sodder) and was surprised not to hear Soldier but instead sold-er.
Most AI can turn story reading Into gibberish...
This was only a slight miss in comparison.
This is obviously a channel more interested in the quality provided to their Audience by investing in a proper AI Reader program.
      I appreciate that.

UnderSparked, just stop pretending you know anything about the trick with putting chips/motherboards into the oven at specific temperatures for a small length of time. It DOES work and you CAN give it a try. It fixes the soldering most of the time, fixing the connection issues and allowing the electronic to work again once the chip/motherboard has been reattached.
In other words, your lack of reading comprehension on those two stories was quite obvious, because they weren't putting the actual electronic into the oven, but the CHIP/MOTHERBOARD. A.k.a. the BRAIN that makes said electronic WORK.

If you get too high just use a CBD tincture or any type of CBD product it levels the high. The problem with most cannabis nowadays is it is high THC no CBD

Goo Gone. It's amazing to remove adhesive from things, can remove sharpie from surfaces- freshly drawn or even after decades!- and I was surprised to learn it is useful for removing grease and oil stains from army fatigues. Probably find it in the auto aisle at Walmart. Good stuff.
From what I understand it's the orange oil that does the heavy lifting so do with that what you will.
