Anyone know if there’s a way to buy other parts separately for the saber, for example you made a protection and defense but you also wanted to buy other parts from other types of sabers without having to buy another whole lightsaber?
Just went last week and got a sweet peace and justice lightsaber. Went with the open emitter and pointed pommel along with two grips similar to Kal’s. Added a white Kyber crystal and I couldn’t be happier.! Great reviews. Savi’s is definitely a great experience for any true fan!
I’m going in April to Disney World and Savi’s Work shop is what I’m going to be doing for my souvenir from there. You’ve helped me pick out what saber I’m making (Protection and Defense) so a big thank you for showing off the new pieces!
Just got back from Disneyland and went to Savi's Workshop and got my first Lightsaber it's a cool souvenir but some of the parts won't stay screwed together had to use plumber's tape to keep it together very disappointing I won't be doing that again, I did get my girls the ahsoka tano Lightsabers to share and they are great

From what I can tell, the price increase seems to come from 2 spaces. For one, inflation comes into play. Just adjusting the sticker price, $200 in 2019 is worth just about $240 today. The price increase outpaces inflation just a bit, but that can take the next piece into account. I do also think the demand is higher than Disney even expected. Just looking at how often reservations tend to run out, people haven't stopped wanting these lighstabers. That consistently high demand tells Disney that they can increase the price a bit to meet that demand shift.

I’d say it’s greed AND inflation. Let us not forget they’ve discontinued some unique lightsabers in favor of bringing in Plo Koon and Luminara’s whose lightsabers are just Darth Maul’s inverted and small detailing. And now those 2 are on a 30% discount cause they’re cluttering their stock

If two people in your party make a lightsaber and pick different categories, can you mix and match with each other. I also think it would be a lot more worth it if they let you keep the extra parts.

absolutely. All the parts are made to fit on the chassis and the chassis' are all identical. Certain pieces might not line up aesthetically, but any pommel or emitter should fit on top of any sleeve and I think all the switches should fit between any sleeve choice. Go nuts!
I just did my Savi's Workshop experience last week, and I chose the power and control grip. I was completely expecting to go for a more Jedi-themed hilt (and I still went with a blue crystal since its my favourite colour), but the spikes, the wires, and the overall dark design was way too cool to pass up. I didn't realise it was a brand new design, so it's very serendipitous I went when I did!
This is so cool to see! I do like this Peace and Justice scrap set for the Cal vibes and that neat emitter! It reminds me of Prequel Obi-Wan's Lightsaber emitter, with openings around the blade instead of a ridged, black filled in portion. I only thought of that because I may or may not have my old telescoping, prequel-design Lightsaber sitting about a foot away from me as I watch this...
Me and my friend did this and it was a highlight of our trip. I will say, if you don't have a cast member that puts there heart out in the experience...it's gonna fall real short. We got an amazing star wars fan cast member that was talking to me about old republic Jedi and the history of the color blue. We will be doing this again. We paid 275, I will be straight...215 was the perfect Disney price imo. I personally love gen 1 protection and defense as it's old republic as gen 2 reminds me of high republic.
The lining up issue was a HUGE problem for me with protection and defense, especially for the one sleeve with the gold triangle parts. It really bugged me so I'm glad they're at least trying to make them more symmetrical with each part now.

Not gonna lie...I'm totally bummed! I was originally supposed to go to Disney World when Covid hit. I've been planning my Peace & Justice lightsaber build for 3 years...excited to finally get it...I'm going in October...and they changed the parts. Like you, I'm not really enamored with the new Peace and Justice parts. I'm rethinking everything now.😒
i first saw the new power and control set on google and was completely blown away by how sleek and light it looked. i originally got the fist power and control lightsaber and it was soo heavy i can’t wait to go back and get that one next!

Did some calculations, the price increase seems to be inflation. Plugging 2019 dollars into the inflation calculator website we see that 220 in 2019 is 262.55 in 2023.
Don't get me wrong, I love your love of Star Wars. I'm a disgustingly huge nerd for the lore and tech and characters. But I will always look at Savi's lightsabers as 3rd rate, overpriced, toys. As a cosplayer, if I want a replica, a 3rd party option is superior. And if I custom design a saber, I'll use their part selector and get the best, most durable, functional saber, not a $200 shelf prop
Id still rather pay 500 dollars or more for a single lightsaber property built and a million times better then Disney crap I don't like sounding so negative but the experience isn't worth the price and especially since I personally can't stand Disney starwars it's Soo tainted and just ruined I can never feel the same way as when I was a kid watching the originals and the sequels in theaters
i'm a big fan of the power and control and peace and justice rethemes. elemental nature doesn't really matter to me bc it was never one i wanted. my favorite was protection and defense but i'm not sure how i feel about it now. (it doesn't really matter i have no idea when i can go)
I think there was some speculation when GE first opened that the Savi saber parts could be swapped for other parts. It just took a few years. I paid $220 in 2019 when I did the experience.

RUclips suggested this video and I am glad I clicked on it. Heading to Galaxy's Edge this April and been watching the rest of your videos. They have been very informative for a first time visitor to Galaxy's Edge. I wasn't going to do Savi's Workshop. But after watching this video I really need my own Protection and Defense lightsaber!
There is a better experience than saviis. The satisfaction of building your own Proffie, didnt know much about building it but when i got done and that thing powered on!!! UGH so excited for my first solder build
I was able to go to Disney this past December 7th 2022 and when I got there my dream was to build a lightsaber and I went and the guy told me that they had new parts for the justice and the power one and other 2 they had wait for old stuff to run out before added the new ones and I went with the Justice I love it and I was about to pay 220$ for it I was happy I found out by a friend who works there that the next day and on the price was now 249$ with tax 270$ I was like what the heck I was lucky

So cool. Recently experienced Savi's workshop and its a really cool experience. Got the Protection and Defense one as it looks a lot like the ones during The High Republic era. I notice that you can travel with it as a carry on luggage in the US, but overseas like Japan, they require you to check in as the blade's quite foreign to them. :D

I'm going in a few days to build the lightsaber using the red kyber crystal but I noticed that when you were showing it off here, it looked more orange than red. Is that just because of the camera or is it actually more orange than red in real life?
The new power and control that you've showcased here is most likely modeled after Darth revans twin red and purple sabers the 4 prongs at the emitter opening are a bit shorter but I imagine that's a safety precaution don't want kids poking their eye out as easily
When I saw that new emitter with the spikes on it, I immediately got Darth Maul vibes because the spikes look similar to his horns on his head. If I made a double-bladed lightsaber with two of those emitters, that would REALLY make it look like a double-bladed lightsaber that Darth Maul would use.
I am so excited to go for my first time this coming February 10. However, 90% of the price increase is based around inflation and general corporate greed lol. I also think they realized how amazing the experience is so they know they can charge a premium for it. I’m only assuming it’s amazing because I’ve watched 1000 videos including yours. At the end of the day for a $50 increase it’s not horrible. They could’ve jumped it up $100 been real dirtbags. Great video my friend keep rocking.

Hey ODK! So we have all four sets of the original line…Mine is protection and defense. I do also have a power and control. Protection and defense is my favorite. The new line looks interesting. Power and control looks unique. Elemental energy Nature also looks like they made some interesting upgrades; however, I still think protection and defense has the win. It definitely harkens back to being more “knights “of the old republic. I think the peace and justice is the fail this time around. It looks like they made a saber that people that like the last two releases of legends sabers, which was Plo Koon and I forget the other girl, which was just a retooling a bit from Darth Maul‘s saber. That I would say is greed. As far as the price going up, I do live in orange county and I have to say that it could be inflation but my default with Disney is greed lol. Lastly, I have to say I don’t think that it is OCD at all to want all of your parts to line up. I mean youre building a light saber that is unique to you to a point and a experience and you want those memories for that $270 to be a good one. I think that when something is off, it can ruin the experience or take away because you start focusing on what is off versus everything around you. So yes, I don’t fault you for wanting all the pieces to line up. They should be that way …it was piss poor design, not to have them that way. I had the same problem and had to send my parts back and they sent me some new ones that had better alignment. I agree with you. This is one of the coolest souvenirs that you can buy from a theme park. It is not just the item but it is also the experience. So the last thing that should take away from the experiences poor design. In any event, all in all l, three out of four sets improvement not bad.

I just went through the Savi's Wrokshop experience and after I finished my build, they said I could buy the other pieces I didn't choose. I think they were about $25 each, so if you build one, you can get all the alternate pieces from that set for about $125. I don't know if you can buy the pieces from the other sets that weren't part of your build though.
Used to go to Disneyland usually about once every 1-2 years. Ever since they started aggressively raising the prices on both tickets and merch, my family hasn’t gone back. Personally, I would much rather go to Disneyworld for a number of reasons 1) I’ve never been to DWorld 2) PEOPLEMOVER!! 3) (probably TOP reason) TRON COASTER!!! *When it opens* ((as much of a TRON geek as I am, even the TRON coaster could NOT get me to take a trip to Shanghai! (A country where using its name as a verb eventually became universally recognized as meaning being kidnapped and robbed since it happened/s so often to people visiting that particular city…))
lol particularity is more autistic than OCD. My mother and all 3 brothers have diagnosed OCD. It affects their daily lives. Not the same as wanted a lightsaber to line up a little better.
they aren't very good sabers, but the aftermarket parts for it are impressive, its not hard to equip them with proffie or CFX, and there isn't a better "lightsaber lego kit" out there. im going to galaxy's edge for a single day, and i have 3 friends that are going to build a lightsaber for me, so if we all can go twice in one day, i can have every piece of scrap metal out there. im going to make my own build your own lightsaber kit. im also hooking them up with proffie 2.2 and OS7 as well as new emitter and crystal lights as well as 2 whole meters of neopixel. duel worthy high definition powerful gesture controlled kyber compatible build your own lightsaber kit. totally worth $3000.
Hey man! Love the videos. One thing I learned, if you're having issues with your parts lining up, use a couple of 1 and a half inch slip joint washers. You can pick them up at any hardware store. I was having issues with my power and control not lining up and continuously coming loose, but after installing a washer on each side, I was not only able to line up the parts, but I was able to screw them in tightly without any wiggle 👍
I already did 2700 on star wars tattoos. Then did a power and control saber, 2 crystals, sabaac and 2 different Lego sets...so we are talking over 3+k since October on Star Wars 😂😂😂
Hello there, ODK! Need your experienced advice please. Built an awesome saber at Savi's but a month or two later it was on the fritz. Disney wouldn't help as it was after 30 days. I swapped out every part I could with a second saber we have, everything else checks out, so I figure a wire in the chassis must be loose. Found a new chassis on ebay for $150 all-in. Is that a better value than trying to find someone who can fix it? Thanks, and may the force be with you!
So I learned something about the experience. The core of the lightsaber is $21 and the blades are $58(?) ish. Which totals around $80. So most of what you are paying for is the experience. I enjoyed the experience when I did it but I ended up 3d printing a new hilt. after taking off all the Disney plastic and metal that makes the hilts way too thick I am very happy with my $100 lightsaber.
Looks like Exar Kun’s lightsaber. Which I’m totally down for. Exar Kun is my favorite extended universe Sith. In Legends, he was responsible for enslaving the people on Yavin 4 and building the (SITH) temples that the Rebellion later used as a base in Episode 4.
for the price, i just can't get over the fact that every Savi's saber is so super thick and fat and every component looks pretty plastic-y. I know the experience of building one is pretty cool, but the saber itself doesn't look anywhere close to being worth nearly $300. Give me a legacy saber any day of the week. At least those don't have a 2.5" diameter.

I haven't been to Disney since 2009. My dad and I were planning on going in 2010 but he had a fall and broke his leg he he ended up dying of staph infection. I haven't been back since. We were there last there was no Galaxy's edge. Oh yes store to buy merchandise the big at at outside and Star tours and that was it. Maybe one day I'll get lucky enough to go but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Yes on the UK the economic crisis is sending everything up including shipping. You could pay over $100 dollars for international shipping . The prices are going up worldwide so it will hit parks like Disney & even Universal will get hit hard.

I have basically the same P&C saber that you have from 2022. And I'm a little disappointed in mine. I think mine has a slightly messed electrical connection. It lights up fine, but the sound effects are not very responsive. You have to shake the hell out of it to get it make the movement sounds.
I'd say the price increase is legit due to inflation and supply chain issues. It's happened across all industries. Thankfully it's getting better and some companies are bringing their prices back down. Most are not though, and if they don't lower them soon, then I'd say it's greed.
I just did it on nov 20th 2023 at disneyland and it was 237.04. 10:42 I went for protection and defense and got the tapered squares emitter and the d-ring pommel, carried it on a carbineer in the park but I still had to hold it as it is uncomfortable continually bumping off and on the thigh.
That’s horrible, how can anyone afford that anymore, so sad , my wife and I were going to do that but now it’s more important to pay the light bill, well the rich can do it that’s the most important thing. Once again we will just watch the video of it and buy one off of Etsy. This breaks my wife and I hearts .
Exar Kun is what that looks like. Saber. And Disney would do better with cheaper. They would sell more and more would come. There getting high enough where a father may not be able to get them for their kids of they had two or three. To pricey does no one any good. They may loose 40$ on 1 guy that can afford it but they gain the fathers three kids at a lower price hundreds but if higher they would loose out and so do the kids.
I must disagree. Wear that sucker. Just put another hole in your belt before your adventure. Wearing a saber around Batuu is one of the most fun things I’ve done in a long time. As far as stuff I’d tell my mom about. 😅

You CAN actually buy the extra parts. Just walk up to the cashier's desk outside and tell them you want to buy "scrap metal".

Does anyone know when Disney world in Florida is going to get the new scrap metal?

I wonder if you can combine the parts from old version with the news like for example the pieces from "Peace and Justice" version 1 with version 2?
i first saw the new power and control set on google and was completely blown away by how sleek and light it looked. i originally got the fist power and control lightsaber and it was soo heavy i can’t wait to go back and get that one next!
I like the new scrap metal parts for the savi's workshop lightsaber I kinda wish you could buy the scrap metal parts for people like me who have already built their own lightsaber that would be nice also the new power and control lightsaber scrap metal parts looks more similar to that of darth Maul then dooku

Did some calculations, the price increase seems to be inflation.
Plugging 2019 dollars into the inflation calculator website we see that 220 in 2019 is 262.55 in 2023.
Don't get me wrong, I love your love of Star Wars. I'm a disgustingly huge nerd for the lore and tech and characters. But I will always look at Savi's lightsabers as 3rd rate, overpriced, toys. As a cosplayer, if I want a replica, a 3rd party option is superior. And if I custom design a saber, I'll use their part selector and get the best, most durable, functional saber, not a $200 shelf prop
i totally understand this. i want a savi saber for the experience, but man, they are CHUNKY and EXPENSIVE

Id still rather pay 500 dollars or more for a single lightsaber property built and a million times better then Disney crap I don't like sounding so negative but the experience isn't worth the price and especially since I personally can't stand Disney starwars it's Soo tainted and just ruined I can never feel the same way as when I was a kid watching the originals and the sequels in theaters
i'm a big fan of the power and control and peace and justice rethemes. elemental nature doesn't really matter to me bc it was never one i wanted. my favorite was protection and defense but i'm not sure how i feel about it now. (it doesn't really matter i have no idea when i can go)

I think there was some speculation when GE first opened that the Savi saber parts could be swapped for other parts. It just took a few years.
I paid $220 in 2019 when I did the experience.

They have been very informative for a first time visitor to Galaxy's Edge. I wasn't going to do Savi's Workshop. But after watching this video I really need my own Protection and Defense lightsaber!
There is a better experience than saviis. The satisfaction of building your own Proffie, didnt know much about building it but when i got done and that thing powered on!!! UGH so excited for my first solder build

I was able to go to Disney this past December 7th 2022 and when I got there my dream was to build a lightsaber and I went and the guy told me that they had new parts for the justice and the power one and other 2 they had wait for old stuff to run out before added the new ones and I went with the Justice I love it and I was about to pay 220$ for it I was happy I found out by a friend who works there that the next day and on the price was now 249$ with tax 270$ I was like what the heck I was lucky

So cool. Recently experienced Savi's workshop and its a really cool experience. Got the Protection and Defense one as it looks a lot like the ones during The High Republic era. I notice that you can travel with it as a carry on luggage in the US, but overseas like Japan, they require you to check in as the blade's quite foreign to them. :D
I just made my lightsaber this past Wed and it was $237 after tax…. Needless to say the experience was priceless!

The protection and defence parts remind me of Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) lightsabers.

Thank you for your review but I have a quick question. I'm going in a few days to build the lightsaber using the red kyber crystal but I noticed that when you were showing it off here, it looked more orange than red. Is that just because of the camera or is it actually more orange than red in real life?

The new power and control that you've showcased here is most likely modeled after Darth revans twin red and purple sabers the 4 prongs at the emitter opening are a bit shorter but I imagine that's a safety precaution don't want kids poking their eye out as easily

When I saw that new emitter with the spikes on it, I immediately got Darth Maul vibes because the spikes look similar to his horns on his head. If I made a double-bladed lightsaber with two of those emitters, that would REALLY make it look like a double-bladed lightsaber that Darth Maul would use.

I am so excited to go for my first time this coming February 10. However, 90% of the price increase is based around inflation and general corporate greed lol. I also think they realized how amazing the experience is so they know they can charge a premium for it. I’m only assuming it’s amazing because I’ve watched 1000 videos including yours. At the end of the day for a $50 increase it’s not horrible. They could’ve jumped it up $100 been real dirtbags. Great video my friend keep rocking.

So we have all four sets of the original line…Mine is protection and defense.
I do also have a power and control. Protection and defense is my favorite. The new line looks interesting. Power and control looks unique. Elemental energy Nature also looks like they made some interesting upgrades; however, I still think protection and defense has the win. It definitely harkens back to being more “knights “of the old republic. I think the peace and justice is the fail this time around. It looks like they made a saber that people that like the last two releases of legends sabers, which was Plo Koon and I forget the other girl, which was just a retooling a bit from Darth Maul‘s saber.
That I would say is greed. As far as the price going up, I do live in orange county and I have to say that it could be inflation but my default with Disney is greed lol. Lastly, I have to say I don’t think that it is OCD at all to want all of your parts to line up. I mean youre building a light saber that is unique to you to a point and a experience and you want those memories for that $270 to be a good one. I think that when something is off, it can ruin the experience or take away because you start focusing on what is off versus everything around you. So yes, I don’t fault you for wanting all the pieces to line up. They should be that way …it was piss poor design, not to have them that way. I had the same problem and had to send my parts back and they sent me some new ones that had better alignment. I agree with you. This is one of the coolest souvenirs that you can buy from a theme park. It is not just the item but it is also the experience. So the last thing that should take away from the experiences poor design. In any event, all in all l, three out of four sets improvement not bad.

I have a elemental nature saber. Def going to get those parts for it. The bantha horn is awesome.
I just went through the Savi's Wrokshop experience and after I finished my build, they said I could buy the other pieces I didn't choose. I think they were about $25 each, so if you build one, you can get all the alternate pieces from that set for about $125. I don't know if you can buy the pieces from the other sets that weren't part of your build though.
So $50 more and parts look cheaper. Great.
Used to go to Disneyland usually about once every 1-2 years. Ever since they started aggressively raising the prices on both tickets and merch, my family hasn’t gone back.
Personally, I would much rather go to Disneyworld for a number of reasons
1) I’ve never been to DWorld
2) PEOPLEMOVER!!
3) (probably TOP reason) TRON COASTER!!! *When it opens* ((as much of a TRON geek as I am, even the TRON coaster could NOT get me to take a trip to Shanghai! (A country where using its name as a verb eventually became universally recognized as meaning being kidnapped and robbed since it happened/s so often to people visiting that particular city…))

they aren't very good sabers, but the aftermarket parts for it are impressive, its not hard to equip them with proffie or CFX, and there isn't a better "lightsaber lego kit" out there. im going to galaxy's edge for a single day, and i have 3 friends that are going to build a lightsaber for me, so if we all can go twice in one day, i can have every piece of scrap metal out there. im going to make my own build your own lightsaber kit. im also hooking them up with proffie 2.2 and OS7 as well as new emitter and crystal lights as well as 2 whole meters of neopixel. duel worthy high definition powerful gesture controlled kyber compatible build your own lightsaber kit. totally worth $3000.
Hey man! Love the videos. One thing I learned, if you're having issues with your parts lining up, use a couple of 1 and a half inch slip joint washers. You can pick them up at any hardware store. I was having issues with my power and control not lining up and continuously coming loose, but after installing a washer on each side, I was not only able to line up the parts, but I was able to screw them in tightly without any wiggle 👍
I have an original Peace and Justice saber, but I really want to upgrade it with that new cone pommel. Anyone wanna trade?

I already did 2700 on star wars tattoos. Then did a power and control saber, 2 crystals, sabaac and 2 different Lego sets...so we are talking over 3+k since October on Star Wars 😂😂😂
Hello there, ODK! Need your experienced advice please. Built an awesome saber at Savi's but a month or two later it was on the fritz. Disney wouldn't help as it was after 30 days. I swapped out every part I could with a second saber we have, everything else checks out, so I figure a wire in the chassis must be loose. Found a new chassis on ebay for $150 all-in. Is that a better value than trying to find someone who can fix it? Thanks, and may the force be with you!
So I learned something about the experience. The core of the lightsaber is $21 and the blades are $58(?) ish. Which totals around $80. So most of what you are paying for is the experience. I enjoyed the experience when I did it but I ended up 3d printing a new hilt. after taking off all the Disney plastic and metal that makes the hilts way too thick I am very happy with my $100 lightsaber.
Looks like Exar Kun’s lightsaber. Which I’m totally down for. Exar Kun is my favorite extended universe Sith. In Legends, he was responsible for enslaving the people on Yavin 4 and building the (SITH) temples that the Rebellion later used as a base in Episode 4.

for the price, i just can't get over the fact that every Savi's saber is so super thick and fat and every component looks pretty plastic-y. I know the experience of building one is pretty cool, but the saber itself doesn't look anywhere close to being worth nearly $300. Give me a legacy saber any day of the week. At least those don't have a 2.5" diameter.
Definitely getting the Power and control set. I get to do to Disney world in a month. Going there on May 4th.
They are expensive but the experience is definitely worth it. My 5 year hasn’t stopped talking about it for 2 months now 😂
There are never any slots for the workshop I tried 60 days in advance still no joy. To be fair it’s too expensive to be worth it now.

I haven't been to Disney since 2009. My dad and I were planning on going in 2010 but he had a fall and broke his leg he he ended up dying of staph infection. I haven't been back since. We were there last there was no Galaxy's edge. Oh yes store to buy merchandise the big at at outside and Star tours and that was it. Maybe one day I'll get lucky enough to go but I'm not going to hold my breath.

You could pay over $100 dollars for international shipping .
The prices are going up worldwide so it will hit parks like Disney & even Universal will get hit hard.

I have basically the same P&C saber that you have from 2022. And I'm a little disappointed in mine. I think mine has a slightly messed electrical connection. It lights up fine, but the sound effects are not very responsive. You have to shake the hell out of it to get it make the movement sounds.
I'd say the price increase is legit due to inflation and supply chain issues. It's happened across all industries. Thankfully it's getting better and some companies are bringing their prices back down. Most are not though, and if they don't lower them soon, then I'd say it's greed.

I just did it on nov 20th 2023 at disneyland and it was 237.04. 10:42 I went for protection and defense and got the tapered squares emitter and the d-ring pommel, carried it on a carbineer in the park but I still had to hold it as it is uncomfortable continually bumping off and on the thigh.
That’s horrible, how can anyone afford that anymore, so sad , my wife and I were going to do that but now it’s more important to pay the light bill, well the rich can do it that’s the most important thing. Once again we will just watch the video of it and buy one off of Etsy. This breaks my wife and I hearts .

Exar Kun is what that looks like. Saber. And Disney would do better with cheaper. They would sell more and more would come. There getting high enough where a father may not be able to get them for their kids of they had two or three. To pricey does no one any good. They may loose 40$ on 1 guy that can afford it but they gain the fathers three kids at a lower price hundreds but if higher they would loose out and so do the kids.
I must disagree. Wear that sucker. Just put another hole in your belt before your adventure. Wearing a saber around Batuu is one of the most fun things I’ve done in a long time. As far as stuff I’d tell my mom about. 😅
PTEFE plumber’s tape does a great job of fixing your saber threads.
