Had my goalkeeper tryouts today and my coach said he was impressed. Your videos have really helped me improve my form and technique so I owe it all to you. Thanks for making videos like these.
+ARS Goalkeeping thanks Alberto u r honestly the best youtuber EVER. Thanks for helping me become a great keeper. Bcuz of u i now play for my provincial team (under 14) i just wanted to know if u can make a video on howto gain confidence in coming out and attacking highballs... Thank you soooo much....
+xXGH0ST980Xx Most definitely I had communication on the list to talk about but the video was already pushing 8 minutes so I decided to let that aspect go, I will be doing a video covering communication and communication drills keepers can do to learn how to properly tell their team where to go
+Soccer Drills And Goalkeeper Training that would be a great help. I'm in a new team with 30 other players, so do you have any tips to learn names really quickly?
+Will Miller GK .. learn the names of your back 4 .. if you've not trained with them previously, ask them their names before the game and keep using them when communicating. Other names will come while you get talking to the team and listening to others as well
I watched you since 2013 and I learned a lot and in 2016 I got in Sheffield Utd but got released at the shadow squad and I went to a normal team and watched you for 1 more year and now I got into Nottingham Forest Academy Tryouts and I will use all the moves
@@slurplul I think this is because you are landing onto the top of your body (shoulders up). Next time try to land on your side or bum and don't rely on using your hands to cushion your fall. This has happened to me before, but with a little practice it'll stop.

Thanks for the videos, Alberto! I'm on my way to being kinda good at something! :D

Thank you! My tryouts for HFC, Northern Elite, Pipeline, and Old Line are coming up soon. This is a really big help. I live in Maryland and I'm a huge Baltimore Blast fan. I was talking to Chaves (their keeper) and he said he would be happy to help me. I made a list of all these things and I'm going to give them to him. I hope someday you become really famous!
love your videos. My son is 9 and he's training for a goalkeeper position. We don't have a proper goalkeeping coach in our area, so your videos are great to give a bit of a guidance. Thanks for taking time to make and publish them.
Man... YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!! Today, I had my match and a coach called me and said "I will personally train you. You are good". I didn't know the positioning point but luckily I watched this video. And because of that. I AM GOING TO BE TRAINED BY A PROFESSIONAL COACH!!!! Thank you ARS. Liked the video and have been subbed since 2 months. You deserve more :)
If you are scared of catching the ball because of the pain then there is a trick I use to prevent that from happening. You see if you just let your arm hanging and get shot with a ball onto it then it will hurt but if you punch the ball right before it hits your hand it won't hurt at all. You will just feel the ball. It's basically force against force and the more force you use against something the less you feel it. Here is an example: Right before you catch the ball / toss ot away from the goal make sure you have your arms posotioned the way that they will be able to accelerate and moved right before the impact with the ball. That's at least how I use it.
Simonas Duksta it’s not as simple as “don’t make a mistake,” (I wish it was) sometimes mistakes are just part of nerves. Speaking from experience, when you make a mistake, you just have to get up, forget about it, and keep making saves and doing what you were before you made that mistake. Coaches want to see you stay positive after making a mistake, but also want to see you recognize your mistake and move on from it. When I make mistakes, one thing that helps me get my confidence back (while in the game) is making up for the mistake by making a huge save afterwards. Anyways, mistakes are part of the game, it’s hard to avoid them;but it’s how you get back up and react to them that matters.
I just wanted to say how blessed to have found your channel. I turned from not even able to dive well, To a decent keeper. Thank you so much. I strongly recommend this channel!
Hey man I currently play U14 in a low division and I’m trialing for the highest division (NPL) in a few weeks, I just wanted to thank you for when I first discovered your channel before I had access to a goalkeeping coach for teaching me skills such as the simple dive and the side volley. Thanks to you and my coach I might actually have a shot of getting in so once again, Thanks
Ok i watch many videos online and going to be honest, this is by far the best instructional video on youtube, as a GK coach at college level i follow all those 5 Keys plus Controlling the backs. I highly recommend this video for anyone who is looking to take game to the next level.
Gained a bunch of weight due to life issues, but was a really good keeper when I was younger (a bit more than ago 2 years ago) I'm 6 foot though which is a huge advantage (for a JV team) and I'm amped to get back out there and try to get back into shape and help my team. I've been playing with my friends who are still on the team and I think I can still extend as far as I could about 2 years ago. I've been binging these videos due to nervousness even though I've known almost everything I've seen in them. Wish me luck!
Thanks for another video on some GK tips this really helps me out. People ask me how I got so good since my freshman year and I send them right here. Keep it up man :D

I know this video is old but next week on Wednesday im tryout for a team as 16 5”5 as GK I know I’m not the tallest but I’ve been practicing and I’m ready to show what I can do this video really helped
thanks man I didn't think about keeping the ball in front of your chest at all and other than that I had all these qualities. I learned something new I appreciate it
I think goalkeeping is the most important for any game and a team. You guys are fantastic. But what can be done if a goalkeeper has a fear of one-o-one with a striker? What can ne done to take out this fear, or any trick to counter this? Proud to be a goalkeeper
I tried out for a team half a year ago but I got deneid, because I was nervous and therefore did badly. I am going to tryout for the same team rly soon and I know that I got what it takes. I am confident.
Also with the positioning you need to make sure that you don't drift to one side. You can check this by quickly looking over your shoulder to see if it is covering the far post.
don't even know how I came across this video, I'm a decent keeper. Played in goal for a few seasons when our keeper got scouted because I was the only one with experience. Sadly only got to play in goal for my school a few times. I had an absolute mare on one of the occasions. I was quite small so it kind of held me back progressing but I will say always make yourself as big as possible. Equally on one on ones look at Ter Stegen. Phenomenal at them.
6 years ago from now ima short keeper trying out for gk Friday thank you for the tips and tricks and new things I’ve just learned wish me all the luck that I make the team
Really helpful video. I improved in all the requirements to be first choice...however my competition is a senior and I'm a sophomore. Coaches here where I live rely on the older players which really sucks. A lot of the players in the team do not rely on him at all. He isn't terrible though,so it is still a competition.....
for the high balls, when attacking them, you need to bring up the leg closest to the strikers eg if the corner is to the right of your goal, bring up your left leg. Right leg if on the other side :)
Had my goalkeeper tryouts today and my coach said he was impressed. Your videos have really helped me improve my form and technique so I owe it all to you. Thanks for making videos like these.

thanks man I didn't think about keeping the ball in front of your chest at all and other than that I had all these qualities. I learned something new I appreciate it
+Itz Zarr I'm glad it helped! thanks for taking the time to watch and comment
This is good for recreational play as well. Great video
Thank you so much! I focused on those tips and did well on my first try out. See you soon
I love your goalkeeper tips
Watched this 3 times in preparation for tryouts ... Thanks was very helpful
+MajorShot glad the video was able to help you out!
Also with the positioning you need to make sure that you don't drift to one side. You can check this by quickly looking over your shoulder to see if it is covering the far post.
Great video mate, having trials for York City in Friday so this really helped
don't even know how I came across this video, I'm a decent keeper.
Greats video Alberto! And guess what, today with the help of all your tips I have been accepted to the team I was trying out :)!
Got travel tryouts today and this vid helps so much

Because of this I was prepared to tryout for the New Hampshire ODP team and I made it
Really helpful video. I improved in all the requirements to be first choice...however my competition is a senior and I'm a sophomore. Coaches here where I live rely on the older players which really sucks. A lot of the players in the team do not rely on him at all. He isn't terrible though,so it is still a competition.....
Hi Alberto! Thank you for these tips! I'm now in my 5th year in the university that i have try out!
thanks for the great video Alberto! Looking very forward to see more training in Germany vids!
+Anthony Vaca :) thanks for watching and commenting
Got to see this video multiple times because season is aproaching ⚽
for the high balls, when attacking them, you need to bring up the leg closest to the strikers eg if the corner is to the right of your goal, bring up your left leg. Right leg if on the other side :)
This video helped out so much!!! I got picked first for the Nationals team on my league!! +ARSGoalkeeping
Cheers. Great video, now I'm feeling confident on which I need to improve on. 👍
