    Leaving Malkin off the top 100 list made the list completely irrelevant and pointless.

      But his response was classically epic he said maybe if they have a top 101 I can make the list that's on par with Phil kessel's tweet during the Olympics👌

    Can we replace Toews with Malkin on the top 100 list? I already have, in my mind. : )
    Oh, and the guy who took the shot on the blown call should've been suspended. He's the same guy who cross-checked Maatta in the face towards the end of the game 5 blowout. The league said they were going to crack down on match penalties at the end blow out games.

    • @rainbow_waif7897

    Im a sharks fan and I have to say that game 6 loss broke my heart more than when the Sharks lost in game 6. I say this because my Sharks were completely dominated and only stood a chance because of Jones but the Preds outplayed the Pens in every game except 2 and 5. I can't blame the Penguins because they weren't the one's making the calls but the refs inconsistency cost the Preds a goal in a game where it was near impossible to come by. Credit to the Penguins though because even in games 1 and 6 where they were dominated but came up with a win, they took advantage of every opportunity they had. Good luck to the Preds going forward.
    P.S. It's not uncommon to not score on four powerplays in a game, especially in a game where Murray was playing out of his mind (as was Rinne)
    P.P.S. It wasn't rigged, it was just god awful officiating throughout the playoffs and maybe a little bias.

    • @hemihead001
      @hemihead001 7 лет назад +4

      Being better on the Stats sheet doesn't make you the better team . Scoring when it counts makes you the better team . Which makes the Pens all the more remarkable . The Pens had plenty of Calls against them and non calls also . Everyone ignores that though .

    • @Gh0stBustaz11
      @Gh0stBustaz11 7 лет назад +1

      Its called Crosby is the poster child of the NHL so why WOULDNT they want him to win the Cup AND the Conn Smythe.. Its just a better story for the NHL, so the Ref was told to blow that whistle as SOON as possible on the no goal.

    In the 3 play off runs where the pens won the cup. Evgheni Malkin: 1.14 pts/GM. Sidney Crosby: 1.07pts/GM. If Malkin plays on any other team he is considered the best player on the planet.

    • @hemihead001
      @hemihead001 7 лет назад +2

      Yeah Malkin always gets the short stick . Kessel should have had MVP last year and Malkin this year . He was Drafted first but Crosby gets to be Face and Captain of the Team . We are blessed to have both but Malkin gets no respect .

    • @tychoncek

      Tyler Choncek I agree for the end of the Nashville series and last year Malkin deserved it just as much as Crosby... he only beat malkin by 1 pt and he played in one more game. Jake guentzel should have probably been in running as well.

  • @markb3194
    @markb3194 7 лет назад +3

    They got shot out and outplayed in way more games than last year, but they're an opportunistic team and find ways to win. Sullivan is already the best coach in pens history, malkin Crosby and kessel are a great trio, and supporting players like rust, sheary, and guentzel just make them great. An injured defense stepped up when they needed to, the goalies Murray, and fleury both played amazing. The pens just find ways to win.

    Penguins fan here Steve. Love your insight and views on hockey bro. Happy for your Maple Leafs too. I'd be shocked if Auston Matthews is not the Leafs Captain next yr. Def an exciting time to be an NHL fan. My two favorite teams are the Penguins and Predators. Still a huge James Neal fan. Never wanted my Pens to trade him. He has proved though he don't need his bff Evgeni Malkin to score goals. The trade was a win-win for both teams.

      Warrior JWR I love the team the Leafs have right now. With Matthews there as well as Kadri, Lupul, Anderson, Nylander etc, this is a good young teen right now. Sure they lost in the first round to the Caps, however they did beat them in overtime and one of the games and they played them pretty competitively in my opinion. I think they are on the right track. We will see what happens however I think the future is looking bright for Leafs Nation. I would love to see them end the Cup curse and being home Lord Stanley for the first time in 50 years!! 😄❤❤❤❤

    I like that people predict that the Penguins have the best odds of winning the Stanley Cup NEXT year. Like obviously...the last one was 2 days ago of course the defending champions look like they have the best team. People were saying in December that the Chicago Cubs were the favorites for winning the World Series this year when they had just won the last one, but they have a losing record right now. Could be the Penguins again, could be the Predators, could even be the Colorado Avalanche. Well, probably not, but you don't know yet. Come back in September and tell me the Penguins are going to win the Cup, but don't do it less than a week after they won the last one.

    Absolutely, the disallowed goal was a blown call. No question. What is in question is what would've transpired had the goal stood. People are like, "The Preds would've won the game 1-0 or at worst had a chance in overtime!" Uh, excuse me? Have you watched hockey? Are you really saying that teams play the exact same way when the score is 1-0 as they do when it's 0-0? If nothing else, maybe the refs would've called an actual penalty (or two) on the Preds because they weren't desperately trying to make up for the blown call. What happened, happened. Yeah, it blows, but it doesn't automatically mean the refs robbed you of a Cup. If nothing else, you had to win Game 7 on the road as well.

    tired of the predators being portrayed as a lovable team that got jobbed. they've gotten literally EVERY CALL this playoffs, including the finals AND game 6. 4 power plays to zero? 5 on 3? yeah, the refs did their best to get nashville back in that game, they just sucked too much to finish what the refs began.
    nashville was given every break in the book on their way to the final, and in the final. losing despite all that proves how much of a fluke they really were.

    I will miss Marc Andre Fleury, but hey I want what's best for the guy. He has some good years left in him. I don't want that to be wasted as a backup, even if it's in a different city. I could seriously seeing him being a Vezina candidate next year. Maybe both him and Matt Murray, what a story that could be,

    Funny how when the actual audio between Crosby & PK came out Subban went quite & Nashville didn't win another game.

    every team gets victimized by the early whistle, sucks but it happens. wasn't the first cup won by contreversial circumstances but theres not telling how the rest of game 6 plays out if the Pens trailed. even if it went to game 7, the Pens owned Rinne in that arena and probably woulda done it again making that early whistle an afterthought. bottom line, the Pens have a great team that got lucky, a formula that many Cup winning teams have employed.

    the pens beingable to come back no matter who was hurt. Speaks volumes about A) there drafting and moves. and B) How great the WB Scranton baby pens are.

    He said Pens didn`t lack depth at center. Sry they lost Bonnino in game 2 otherwise they would of Swept Trashville in this series. They lost games 3 and 4, and had to figure out adjustments.

    I can tell you the answer to who knows who will be here next year. Number one, Daniel Sprong. Number 2, Zac Aston Reese. Those 2 are some of the best college prospects in the country, and they are both graduated and coming to Pittsburgh.

    I think people rallied around the preds for a combination of the following:
    1) Nashville the underdog feel good story
    2) Subban winning the cup and spiting Montreal
    3) Seeing the dominant Penguins not win once again (they're so good, I feel so many people just want to see someone else, anyone else beat them)
    4) Fun Nashville crowds

    Chris kunitz has 4 cups... one with the ducks 3 with the pens can we say. kunitz is either a one of the luckiest fwds in the nhl or a good line filler.

    I don't care what anyone says, in my opinion Crosby is the best player of all time. He can do it all: offence, defence, has a hockey IQ off the charts, great leader, and a proven winner. Plus he's not even 30

    It hurts as a preds fan lol. It was a weird series because both teams got blown as visiting team but then penguins took over on game 6. I really wanted to see Rinne and Subban win the cup but they and the rest of nashvilles roster did very good however they didn't won the cup

      Even as a Penguins fan it baffles me we beat Washington. We were outshot 16-3 in the first period of Game 1 vs Columbus and that pretty much set the tone for the playoffs for us

    If that goal counted, it doesn't necessarily mean it would've ended 1-1 after the 3rd. The rest of the game would've played out differently. Maybe Rinne would've played the game of his life and get the shoutout. Maybe the Pens would've came back with 5 unanswered. Maybe they would've traded goals until the final buzzer.
    But yeah...Still Kessel. :D
