It's like..... let's say I didn't know her at all. She is a stranger to me. And she sits next to me on a plane. I would sense her energy and would feel the magnetic and positive vibe she has. :)

I completely understand how Dom feels growing up, because I felt the same way, I was very confused about my sexuality and “fitting in” or not living up to the standard I thought my parents wanted for me. Her journey resonates so much with my own, and I just couldn’t be happier and more proud of her, she’s led me to become my most authentic self, so thank you Dom 💕
unfortunately, this is a struggle many of us faced or are still struggling with. our parents and our peers can be very supportive and strong allies or they can be the most devastating influences in our lives.
I want a book by Dominique Provost-Chalkley. She is so interesting to listen to and she is super relatable even though I am a straight person she is still super relatable to me and I just adore this human and her energy. :)

Wow that was SO interesting. I was raised religious and being gay was unacceptable. *That* is what made me feel like I needed to ‘control’ (suppress) myself. The closest thing I had to a spiritual awakening is the awareness I’m an atheist and embracing secular humanism. *That* is how I felt I could be myself without shame, and what gave me hope, where I had literally none before. Honestly so interesting, everyone’s path can be so different. Love that she shared this and so glad she found her way. Thank you Dom!
I pretty much just commented the same thing before I read you comment. Lol I found this very interesting too. When I walked away from religion, that's when my mental state improved. But I guess spirituality can be different from organized religion.
Yeah she is definitely talking about spirituality rather than religion here, it makes all the difference. I'm an atheist yet I am spiritual, it doesn't mean i believe in a god (of course) but that i am capable of seeing the many gifts nature can give us, it means being receptive to the beauty in the world. Religions are telling us to believe in a god (or several gods) and to do it blindly, this is toxic and leads most often than not to intolerance. I think the difference between spirituality and faith (though dominique is using that word, wrongly in my opinion) should be made clearer, especially in conversations like that.
@@jazzyv6131 spirituality is a belief in something greater and not necessarily an established version. i look at organized religion as a means to control people. you have to follow their rules or you are wrong. we need to find our own path. i am a Wicca which basically teaches as long as you don't harm anyone in any way do what you will.
I wish Dom would elaborate more about her mental health prior to finding a spiritual path. I want to know more about her life experiences.
as a person who struggles with mental health issues i can tell you that opening up about it is not easy. sharing your mental struggles with strangers is like taking off your clothes in a crowded room.

Okay but who hurt her? She talks about she had a bad experience with one of her friends. That breaks my heart
u know id love to get just a few things about that friend like date of birth age job where they live and all their records u know just to talk to them (all jokes btw but like i rlly do wanna find out why people hurt others without using violence)
I think she meant that she had friends who said to her it was a bad thing and stuff like that. Not sure if they hurt her but they weren't supportive obviously, they might have been homophobic (who knows) which made her think this wouldn't be easy so she;d focus on the easier route. This is my own interpretation of her words.

OK I know shit happens. And the problem is how you react to the problems, the problem. That U can control. The bad experiences and shitty things weeel U can't control in general. Remain in peace and love. Always no matter what. That's the real secret
she would never tell who hurt her and i don't think we should ask. sadly, it happened and she is moving on and growing from the experience. being knocked down is not what matters, having the strength to get back up and how you handle the experience is what is important.
I could relate of what she said bec. Thats the effect of first stage when you practice meditation and applying in everyday life. Same and exact experience in me for first three years those "spiritual awakening" and it feels good levitating to our higher selves. 🙏

my question is what is the divine? to me my divine is Gaia, Mother Earth. It's sad that the established religions are so anti love for lack of a better word. they teach against everything except male/female relationships. i find that meditation really helps me try to stay grounded. i had moved away from it until i started watching dom's videos and realizing how much i miss the quite times with my thoughts. one of the things i really fight with is my family would be one of the groups that would tell people they are wrong to love someone other than a member of the opposite sex. the people i work with/for are the same. for these reasons i have to stay hidden and keep my feelings inside. thank you for sharing dom, we all love you. wishing you health, happiness, and love.

Thanks thanks Dominique that is sooo beautiful and more important than anything in life. Realize that there is a spiritual life and open yourself to that experience and know and accept the existence of The force that commands everything (in my case Love) is the force that holds us together and that leads us to that inner peace and that tells us there is hope for something better. And this life with its problems and disappointment is not all. Aaah Dominique you are wonderful and thank you for saying it so beautifully. Discovering and taking advantage of the spiritual life is the best way to go in this crazy world. Do of hatred and revenge is the rule. Thank you Dominique I LOVE You. THANKS FOR THAT KEEP DOING PLZ.
