Damn, whenever I watch fighting games -makes me want me and go play fighting games! My first fighting game was street fighter 1st" good times and great tournament played by persona 4 arena
It's a shame people hate on this game just because it has such a strong Japaneses look about it, because it really is one of the best fighters around and a lot of fun to play.
Wish this would have been a bit closer because this game makes for some intense, exciting, dramatic battles. The best final this year will probably go to KOF again
Over the weekend there was a HUGE event called EVO2013 which is the biggest fighting game event each year, IGN uploaded the finals to youtube.. Just saying for people who are confused :)
A button check is when the competitors make sure that their controllers are working and to make sure that their button configurations are correct before starting since people like using different buttons then the default settings.
BananaKan actually beat Yume in one of LevelUpLive's streams, it was a match in a $1,000 a night hotel during or shortly after EVO- a mini P4A tourney held. Not sure if you could find it anywhere, in the LevelUpLive twitch archives or not, but it was a pretty fun tourney to watch of Team America vs Team Japan.
Aigis is terrifying. Still learning her, but after seeing this I now know what she's capable of. Only wish more Yosuke players would be up there though, as he's my main.
Pretty much, yeah. Smash Bros is fast as hell and often extremely technical in a kind of situational way, so you can't really just use the same combos throughout obviously. Makes it interesting and a little more forgiving (sometimes XD)
Yep, that's why they are the high tiers xD I only have problems with Aigis, Chie and Yu, because they force you to block and... man, you need amazing reactions or good guesses xD Then you have Akihiko, who has godlike damage output, but doesn't have enough tools to shine by his own, it's all about the player reads.
There was not a single automatic combo performed in this match. Sure, every character has the short "mash one button to a combo", but it's used very rarely if at all unless you're a complete beginner at fighting games. The combos in this game are fairly advanced and require pretty fast button pressing to perform. Get your facts straight.
The west really only shows dominance in are the ones that don't have japanese arcade counterparts or the ones that didn't have an arcade release at all.
Well, yeah. That's why I said that. In the FGC when you say someone/something is free you mean that they where really easy too beat, almost effortless. LordKnight was free.
Lordknight kicked ass in his first 2 finals matches, Yume kinda struggled at the start but during his 2nd match he just got in the zone and never got out of it when this happend. One thing I wonder about pro Persona players, why do they rarely use all out attacks?
Am I just getting too old or do today's fight games like this one move too fast to make on-the-fly mid combo changes etc. based upon the situation. I pretty much have to per-memorize a bunch of combos for games like this that I have to hammer out in very rapid sequence. Once I have started a combo the action moves so quickly that I really can't react or change that sequence of per-memorized moves to meet the situation. It's basically I look for an opening and if it connects I spam the combo.
while i agree that im not a fan of the auto-combo system, a good player doesnt abuse said feature, and neither of these people are even using it. not to mention that you lose a bit of hp/damage is weaker when you use an autocombo as opposed to manually doing the combo yourself. imo bb is an easier game because combos are a lot easier to pull off than in p4u.
It's true we have people in the U.s that feel like they are better, and I can't say lot of them because I've never been out side of Nyc to tell if more people are like that. But as for sueriority complexes I have one when I'm playing video games at times I feel like a loss from lag isn't far or when I fight a blocker in dark souls or Sf4 I get pissed off but that's because I'm overly compative So I don't agree with what you say, but I feel you have a point when it's comes to this.
It's considered the best character in the game, but even the lowest of tiers (Kanji) can rock in this game. The game it's really balanced to be honest.
and here ladies and gentlemen, we have the average 'murican, thinking that just because he was born on in a first world country, he automatically became better than anyone else
i dont get why all the easy and beginner friendly fighters go to evo. why isnt blaz blue their? an amazing fighting game and so much more in depth than persona and its "mash one button to get a combo" antics.
Oh, that actually makes sense. You could've berated me like some fanboy but instead you decided to just answer me in a coherent fashion. Can't say that about everyone...
It's definitely the most underrated fighting game. That much is certain.
Poor lordknight, he used mitsuru against aegis and that alone is a little difficult considering mitsuru is so charge oriented.
Damn, whenever I watch fighting games -makes me want me and go play fighting games! My first fighting game was street fighter 1st" good times and great tournament played by persona 4 arena
Always great music from Persona :)
Matches like these just make me go on the edge of my seat!
It's a shame people hate on this game just because it has such a strong Japaneses look about it, because it really is one of the best fighters around and a lot of fun to play.
Aaah I am so buying this game next week! I loved playing Persona! Can't wait to finally play this game!
I love these announcers Guys who actually understand fighting games God job IGN
darn, i need to get back to playing P4A now
...summer school, damn you for taking my time away
Wish this would have been a bit closer because this game makes for some intense, exciting, dramatic battles. The best final this year will probably go to KOF again

That was brutal...clear difference in handling of characters.

When I got this game I never thought it would become a legit fighting game
Damn, poor LordKnight. Never played the persona series, but i I feel for ya man.
Persona 4 Arena's graphic style is awesome.
I knew it!BTW Atlus are the guys that make Shin Megami Tensei right if so thats a dream team of developers.
THE KING OF FIGHTER IS!
Pretty much, yeah. Smash Bros is fast as hell and often extremely technical in a kind of situational way, so you can't really just use the same combos throughout obviously. Makes it interesting and a little more forgiving (sometimes XD)
the amount of pressure you need to keep up block stuns like that is difficult to maintain. And you are heavily rewarded for it.
What he's referring to is both north and south america, which together is called the Americas. wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Americas
damn strait yume is just one of the amazing. and all the characters are capable of that
Is persona 4 arena worth getting?
Hell yeah it is
hella hype

Aigis is not cheap character because you can over-heat and run out of bullets, so that keeps you from spamming the gattling gun.
a lot, since hundreds of people enter EVO tournament.
first place nets you about 55%, which is thousands of dollars alone.
OWNED!!!

hmm... maybe cause america doesn't have the current version?(chrono blah blah) blazblue could of possibly been there, try searching for it
.....AWESOME!!! I wish I could play them
correct, it was made by the same developers/studios.
Yume looked like he was on a completely different level.
I thought they cancelled the SSB tourney because of Nintendo.. or was that just the streaming?
how rare does the button crap out during tournaments?
Lordknight kicked ass in his first 2 finals matches, Yume kinda struggled at the start but during his 2nd match he just got in the zone and never got out of it when this happend. One thing I wonder about pro Persona players, why do they rarely use all out attacks?

And Skullgirls, never forget!
Except it is. Generally America is refered to the USA. Unless you mean the Americas which refers to the continent.
gaaaaah im going to go buy this game right now!!!
Yume played LordKnight like a fiddle, read him at almost every single turn...
You were thinking of The Golden I presume?
while i agree that im not a fan of the auto-combo system, a good player doesnt abuse said feature, and neither of these people are even using it. not to mention that you lose a bit of hp/damage is weaker when you use an autocombo as opposed to manually doing the combo yourself. imo bb is an easier game because combos are a lot easier to pull off than in p4u.

Are we gonna get some Blazeblue videos IGN???
This is not a showoff tournament my friend.
It's considered the best character in the game, but even the lowest of tiers (Kanji) can rock in this game. The game it's really balanced to be honest.
Their playing on PS3 but it's also on the 360.
just started playing p4 arena any pointers for understanding the timing in this game and achieving high combos
well you could argue that he was talking about north america as a whole... since japan is so good it pretty much is japan vs. the world
A new version would be awesome.
With new characters like (***SPOILER Adachi****) ,Margaret,Junpei and koromaru
Yume did such a heavy pressure. Still, nice playing, LordKnight.
Great job Yume really deserves it.
I honestly don't see how you came to that conclusion.
Lol, this was EVO 2013, it had nothing to do with IGN, they just uploaded it.
I've had this game since release... No changes. D:
omg this game is busy and all over the place, hard to keep up. But wow it´s beautiful
yeah but he also lost against Yume in the best to 5 lol
there's a video of the match
I mean, just the grand finals, using the stream from someplace else
LK just lacks the amount of pressure yume puts on him...specially with aigis. The kid had no chance. What a massacre.
That shit looked free
P4A is the best fighting game ever!
Well considering how people acted when it was almost taken off streaming, yeah I'd say it was more hyped
How many fighting games have you played?
Same devs, so the games are very similar. Although I would say that P4A is much faster, while blazblue is much more technical
It essentially means the same thing in this case.
Is this made by the Blazblue guys because it looks like it.
and here ladies and gentlemen, we have the average 'murican, thinking that just because he was born on in a first world country, he automatically became better than anyone else
True dat.
How did this get on RUclips??? I thought you weren't allowed to upload Rapes!
Wow. It's true what they say about America. It really is the land of the free.
Yume just getting in dat ass O_O. That pressure was insane!
you sir deserves a medal for not saying 1st
Is IGN going to post the SSB final?
Cod is MLG and EVO is fighting games but is there an event for racing games like Need for speed??? Probable not because i'd be a boss at that >_>
summer school to me is like how the girls mess around with the guys in P4...
and we all know how that went down
Nintendo changed their minds.
If BananaKen would just of not lost.
He would have a chance against Yume.
"Yume does not care"
....Freaking honey badger.
the time you took this write this,
you could have spend using google
you too eh? because of summer school i suck with naoto now xD
they wouldnt do it without permission
Whoa, Yume totally destroyed LordKnight. おめでとう!
Damn that is sick aigis playing.. Lordknight chance is slim.. But this is a good match.
Can't believe I missed the p4 tournament
i would lioke to see blaz blue and skull girls at evo
Owned
Thanks not every game has comments as the ones of LoL cause i may have heard many godlikes
It's not on the vita...
How did LordKnight win the losers bracket?
We took KOF this year too
hu ? yume is he playing vs CPU on easy mode ?
uhh I don't think so. Still a good fighter though.
i dont get why all the easy and beginner friendly fighters go to evo. why isnt blaz blue their? an amazing fighting game and so much more in depth than persona and its "mash one button to get a combo" antics.
man i was rooting for lordknight in the end there
Oh, that actually makes sense.
You could've berated me like some fanboy but instead you decided to just answer me in a coherent fashion. Can't say that about everyone...
