Great Video ! This is exactly what I was looking for. Well done. I have the Celestron CGX 9.25 EDGE HD , I will be mounting my ZWO Astro camera to the Starizona Hyper star. I have the ZWO asi air plus as well as the EAF. This was perfect. So happy I found this video. Not sure why I didn’t get notification when this video came out. Very glad I checked and found this. Thank you 🤗
@@astronotna not certain why I wasn’t getting notifications about your posts. It’s been like 3 months. Now I see I got some catching up to do. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks
I use the Mini, as I do not need USB 3.0 as I do not do Planetary ( video ) imaging, If you do, do Planetary imaging, then USB 3.0 is a must for faster download of the larger files. A point on back focus. the T ring for your DSLR will give a back focus of 55mm without the need for any additional spacers
I have the GTI, ASIAir and Auto Guider using with my DSLR Canon. I can't seem to get the Auto Guider to work do you have a video on setting up the ASIAir, Auto guider, DSLR and GTI up or any help getting it set up.
@@astronotna I was trying to go from my Guide Scope to the GTI I think is where my issue is. I was thinking that I still needed to have the GTI doing more of the work then I need to I believe. I have just picked up a ZWO533MM so my DSLR will mostly go back to Milky Way and I will just use the Astro camera steps to set up my rig. I could not get it to show up in the ASIAir app as being plugged in. I am hoping to go out this weekend if the weather would work with me for once. The week when I have to get up and work the skys are clear. The weekends I don't clouds everywhere lol. I take a day off from work clouds that night after a clear day so the weather gods have been fighting me for the past two weeks since I got the camera.
It just needs a 12v input. I happen to be using 3 4s batteries wired in parallel. If you would like to view that I talked about it in the video ruclips.net/video/dhuzobgByXw/видео.htmlsi=eD85LX8-A48oUK2Y
I'm a bit confused. I was watching your earlier videos. Why would I need this if I can already control them mount and camera with the Synscan app 🤔. What am I not understanding?
The asi air does quite a few things The app does things such as autoguide, control a dedicated astro imaging camera and helpful accessories such as a auto focuser and filter wheels
While it is true plate solving uses stars and catalogs. Some users have report issues with plate solving due to wrong location info. It still needs to know where it is in the world. This is often a suggested troubleshooting when step asi airs are not plate solving. For this reason is why I mentioned it here just in case
Just when I thought everyone did an asiair tutorial. For the dozens before, I learned a few more tips here. I've been using 2 asiair's for over a year. Lately I've been having trouble doing PA. It just keeps failing, and locking up. I'm wondering if the new firmware update is the issue? Anyone else having problems?
It's weird, everything looks okay on the "home screen ", then once I move into next screen, main camera isn't always there. A little too many "weirdneses" to get into. I finally get it to work. However the PA, is not doing me any favors. Also even if it works, it doesn't give a final "Global Rank" at all lately, just sits there. I then opt for preview?
Hi! If you don't mind, I have a question. You connected sky-watcher gti mount to asiair using usb-usb cable. I was under the impression that in order to correct guiding error, you need to use usb-rj45 cable to connect control computer to your mount. Is there any upsides/downsides of usb-usb connection?
This deserves a million likes! Thanks for doing this video - you have saved countless hours of frustration!
That's awesome to hear. Glad this helped
Thanks for making this video. You explained the EAF and filter wheel in a way that it makes it easy to follow along. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for a great informative video. I'm just setting up a new scope with almost all the same hardware., so this has made it easier.
Great to hear! Glad this helped

Same setup but the sky watcher rebrand of you scope. Nina works great with it :)

Great video. How can I get an attachment for my AsiAir plus like that to fit on the tripod leg?
You could do something like this bit.ly/3ZqX5pj and bolt it on
Interesting.
Amazing video!
Anyone tested the canon t8i?

Its definitely on my list of things to create. When you say it doesn't work what do you mean by that?
are you using an ascom cable to connect the ASI air to your GTI mount ?

@@TheMatrix365 guide scope to Asi air, asi air to gti via ascom cable
Enjoyed the tutorial
You must be close to the weight limit on that skywatcher gti though?
For sure 9.5 lbs! Really close!!! Thanks for watching this one.
@@astronotna Nice, the gti was my first mount and it’s a beauty!
You didn't show us how you power the asi air ? Description yes but how did you actually power it. What did you plug it into ?

Ah OK. Tons more to learn. I'll keep watching your videos.
The Synscan app is annoying, especially in bortle 9, where it's hard to find alignment stars. Asiair is much easier.
18:57 lol I suppose the location is not for the plate solving
since plate solving does not require any location, it requires... stars. And a catalogue.

I've actually had that problem before but for me it's when my telescope focal length is set incorrectly or my GPS coordinates are incorrect

Looks like a great device, but hardware lockin is abhorrent.
Nina is easy, free and doesn't lock one into zwo hardware
Another great video though ty

You know I haven't seen any difference at all. It works great.
